I believe a great great grandfather of mine was the mayor of Antwerp.
My great grandad was the taxi driver who took Agatha Christie from the Swan Hydropathic Hotel when they found her after being missing for 11 days. This also means he was technically played by somebody in a Doctor Who episode. A different great grandad was the youngest British Army pastor in North Africa in WW2. He died in 2005 just after his 90th birthday.
My family founded a town called Vici Oklahoma during and right in the middle of the biggest sandstorm in American history.
my uncles wives nose is a penis (User was banned for this post ("Shitposting" - Autumn))
My great-great grandparents moved to the United States in 1901 from Bavaria. In Bavaria, they had working plumbing and electricity. In the US, they had neither. So they went back to the Vaterland a year later. But they stayed just long enough to make and give birth my great-grandfather, whom later returned to the United States as a citizen in 1921.
my uncle is hitler (User was banned for this post ("Shitposting/Liar" - Autumn))
My father owns a radio station, has met celebrities, and has appeared on television/movies. Most of this happens when I'm distracted by this flickering box called a computer, although the last thing happened most frequently before I was even born.

You must be lost, the exit is to your left.
You mean Autumn the Fast Threads section moderator? My great great uncles started what is/was the biggest livestock auction company in Britain. Which is as far back as I know in my family history unfortunately.
I recently found out that Lady Godiva and Julius Caesar's sister are very VERY distant relatives of mine. :v:

My great grandfather was the mayor of Swansea. :v:

I'm descended from Polish and Italian Nobility. The First and Second World wars changed all that though. Though my family then wormed their way up the corrupt soviet government and fled Poland sometime in the 1970s. There was also a case where my grandmother (In Soviet Poland, the 1960s) went with a bunch of people to glue a trains to the tracks (It was intended for Moscow) and then they looted it. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Also, relation to nobility is very common. If you are related to somebody important chances are many many other people are, as most people in Europe are related to each other if you go to the 1400s. If you go to the time of Christ then you can be related to practically anybody from that time. Everybody in the world is descended from Confucius. (Who lived about 5 centuries before Jesus)
About half of my family is descended from a family that lived in rural Ireland. The other half is Czech/Russian. It turns out that my Grandmother was one of the people that helped form the U.S. Peace Corps in 1961-65. :buddy:
my great grandfather owned a villa (palace) as well as around 6 million dollars, and he bet his fortune + his villa + his wifes fortune on a racehorse. guess how that turned out.
My Great Granddad on my Dad's side fought in the Battle of the Somme and lived. My Great Great Granddad was a train conductor on the Great Western railway, a very prestigious and well paid job a the time. My Granddad on my Mum's side (this must be getting confusing now) was the head electrical engineer for Plymouth's Civic Centre (which has now been demolished). He was also an electrical engineer for the RAF during WWII in North Africa. My Dad was a comms officer for the Merchant Navy. I'm off doing robotics, so clearly we are heavily descended from the Romans. And given my family's ability (particularly from my Mum's side) to not feel the cold, I reckon there's a fair bit of Viking in there too.
I think I'm meant to be related to some sort of Lithuanian nobility, no one very special from my family that I know of. Well my grandmother did see The Beatles on their first tour in that pub that I can't remember the name of. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] My mum's side come from Yorkshire, my dad's eastern European (he is Macedonian, his dad is from Belarus, his mum is Greek). Nice mix there.
Apparently someone in my family was a pirate a very long time a ago. Oh, and my late grandfather was a fucking amazing artist :buddy:
My mother has 64 cousins and my father once robbed a bank.
My grandfather is polish, and at the end of the second world war he was on a train heading out of Germany. However, it was going to the Russian's rather than the America's. So, having no truck with it, he lept off the train and walked to the Americans. That's about it.
My uncle has his own band http://www.vangogh.ee
This is gonna sound so weird, but it sounds like uncle music. Might be becouse my uncle too has a band that plays sort of the same music
I'm related to Mark Twain.
