I like subtitles, because English is not my first language, and sometimes I can't fully understand what people are saying in movies/whatever, still, I prefer to read subtitles in English, than in Portuguese.
I only like them when someone is speaking incomprehensibly and/or in a foreign language and when they're proper transcriptions
I love them, but god help me if I see a spelling mistake I seem to get obsessive compulsive over it and flip out. Maybe because they should know how to SPELL if they're doing them?
(mostly valve games)
sometimes,But if I don`t understand what the`re saying like in "Foreign" films then yeah i like subtitles :)
For movies and games. Subtitles in movies with non-english audio beats voice dubs (Eg. Kung Fu Hustle.) Also, watching movies in english with subtitles can be pretty interesting if someone says a hard to hear word or something that doesn't even sound like english.
I can't play a game without subs it seems.
If it's a movie in my language, no. For some reasons I can never hear what they say in video games. In foreign films, dubbed annoys me, so I prefer subs.
subtitles are only good for Japanese anime's.
Subtitles are great, but I don't necessarily even want them in shows like South Park or Futurama..
I love them in video games or music. Because it's often hard to understand what people are saying.
Since I'm partially deaf I'd say they're a god send.
this
Yes.
Sometimes, it's hard to hear
Me too!! like during a mission I can`t understand them with out subtitles
I can't play a game without subs it seems.
Even though i understand english well enough to watch a movie without subtitles, i still prefer to have subtitles in my own language.
Far too often in movies do they mumble or speak in a foreign language temporarely, without subtitles this is pure hell.
i feel that if I read subtitles ill be missing the scenes and all that but if I watch the scenes sometimes I won't make out what they mumble or something
Subtitles, dubs can slowly burn in hell.
The worst thing I know is a movie with REAL, HUMAN ACTORS being dubbed over in FINNISH. Even the cartoon-dubs tend to be horrible, but that's the worst one. I believe that's what hell is, if it exists.
I love subtitles in movies but I can't stand them in games
I hate them because I usually spend 80% of the time reading the damn subtitles than actually watching the movie.

I started actively using subtitles in games since Max Payne. The voices were really muffled on my shitty stereo-speakers back then that I didn't even know what they said without subtitles.
Anything thats not Norwegian or English is great with subtitles. I don't mind them, when I'm kind of "lost" in the movie I can read English subtitles to an English movie.
But Dubbing :frog:
When i was a kid i always watched movies or shows with subtitles on just because i liked reading them
I don't mind subtitles TBH.

sometimes, subtitles make the jokes much more funny. So yes.
I hate subtitles in movies, they get in the way most of the time.
I like them in games, mostly Valve games. Good if i were to miss out on dialog.
Watch only non-dubbed anime so I need subtitles for those.
