I go to sleep with my socks on and then kick them off ten minutes later.
And sometimes i put the pillow on my head, or build a little tent for my head out of several pillows.
i always keep a notebook and pen by my bed so i can record any weird-ass ideas i get while trying to get to sleep or dreaming
You are now obligated to post said list.
i only started doing it a few weeks ago, and i haven't written anything legible so far
sorry
I have to have my kitty purring next to me. It's soothing.
Strange habit? Okay. I'll randomly wake up at night, around 3AM or so, but it won't be a conscious realisation yet that I'm awake (halfway between awake and asleep). When I finally realise that I am actually awake, I will be in the middle of full-on humping the bed. And I can't get back to sleep until I finish the job, which can normally take half an hour to an hour. And this is a pretty frequent thing as well.
Most of the time if i couldn't sleep i listen to this music

I literally can't sleep if the rest of my family is still in the living room.
I always think of the most amazing things before bed, and sometimes I can't sleep unless I've written them down
I have to read Donald Duck pocket books before I fall asleep.
I am 25.
Also, I can't sleep unless it's perfectly dark and almost perfectly silent.
It used to be so that a clock ticking kept me awake, but I've gotten used to some noise now. What makes this weird is that I have a bad hearing defect, but my ability to hear seems to amplify when I try to sleep. Same with eyesight, I can see clearly in darkness where everyone else trips over things and complains that "It's so fucking dark holy shit."
I don't fall asleep until about 4 hours later
I can't sleep if I do anything considered "critical thinking". Usually applies to homework, studying, or songwriting. I end up with a billion thoughts of the topic running through my head to the point where I can't sleep unless I solve the actual situation.
I've laid in bed for 3 hours before getting up and finishing a song before. Shit's terrible.

Jesus fucking christ, this just happened again last night.
I always wake up at 5:50 AM
I usually fall asleep right after, but I'll try to avoid that on schooldays (because I have to get up at 6:00 AM)
I need my massive fucking fan on to fall asleep.
Also, light pisses me off. I want it to be -pitch black-.
Unfortunately, my neighbors have lawn spot-lights that go right into my windows, and once my eyes get adjusted to the dark, my Iguanas' black light can be bothersome too.
I usually cannot sleep unless it's very dark/pitch black. I also have to lay on my back, arms relaxed behind the pillow until I fall asleep. Also I've made a habit of eating something small in bed before sleeping so sometimes I cannot sleep unless I eat something.
I can't sleep unless I'm facing toward the doorway, even if it's closed. It's almost a primal feeling.
I have to snuggle up under my duvet before I can get comfortable enough to sleep. Like tucking it around me. And for some reason I fall asleep quicker facing the wall with my computer and dresser then the wall next to my bed.
Absolute darkness

Your title fits the thread too.

I usually wake up 5 minutes before my alarm goes off. For some reason it's really depressing. I wake up thinking
"Oh, I wonder how many hours I can still sleep!"
*5 minutes*
"Aw maaaaaaaaaan"
and my morning is ruined.
On the other hand, waking up like 3 hours before the alarm is the best feeling in the world.
I fart, really loud.
I fart, really loud.
I do too. I would say upwards 60% of my daily farting is done in bed, both in the morning and at night.
I have to create some kind of story in my head where people talk in order to force myself to sleep.
Usually end up as pretty good short stories the day after :)
I get into bed around 11 PM but I never lay down until 4 or 5 AM due to chronic insomnia that I've since I was born; during this time, I read/watch TV/use my phone/eat/drink. I've to get up at 7:30 and I always set the alarm a handful of minutes back because my vital functions refuse to turn on all at once, they take time.
I don't like sleeping in complete silence, so I prefer a noise maker or turn the fan on, even when it's blistering cold.

Can't fall asleep unless I've masturbated. :v:
my bedtime is ogre
Whenever I'm not incredibly tired, I need to take 2 Benadryll before going to bed. Then I usually watch an episode of Scrubs on my phone and then I'm out. If I'm not tired then I'll stay up all night trying to fall asleep.
I always fall asleep to music. The song I fall asleep to changes every once in awhile. Recently it's been:

The only thing that really keeps me away is sunlight. Yet, I can fall asleep easily with LED lights, Fluro lights and stuff easily.
I sleep through anything if I haven't had 6 hours sleep. I've been dragged along floors, punched, had airhorns set off in my ear and slept through an earthquake.
For me to sleep, I require a "white noise" of some kind, usually from my fan or thunder storm loop sound from my alarm clock. I can't handle a lot of light in the room though.
