a yesterday went to one of those hotspots where you have to pay to use the internet. so i thought i have a linux laptop with a pretty good wifi broadcasting range and packet sniffing software that gives ip etc and can snif Facebook accounts etc. (NOT GIVING THE SOFTWARE NAME because i don't want you guys trying this because this is highly ilegal in most country's)
so i bought some internet time and set up my stuff. i made a network called"free wifi hotspot".
after waiting 30 minutes i had 3 people using my free wifi. one of them was downloading porn (checked out the ip he was connecting to for over 10 minutes). i don't know why because it was a public place. WHO THE HELL WACHES PORN IN A PUBLIC PLACE?the other two were on some random foreign site... after waiting over 2 hours i struck gold! a Facebook account (not giving details). tested it and it worked :smug:.when i was almost going to shut down the hotspot i got another account. this time for hyves (a lame Facebook copy). i shut it down and left.
funny thing: when i shut it down multiple people suddenly risen there phones and laptops trying to regain connection...
so in the end it was a waste of time. but still a nice way to gain some experience on how to packet sniff.
