quoting because you said "miserable bitch". anyway, where on my post did i even mention money? he's proud of something idiotic. it's like being proud of making characters on madness combat. it's just stupid. he's also being a really annoying person because he throws his ego BAM right on your face and it makes this thread really unpleasant to read. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] and what? you're 18 yet you're so childish. i was just saying he should become an actual artist instead of putting some random shading that makes NO SENSE AT ALL on a gun and calling it "pro at shading". he isn't. the guys at the creationism corner are.
You said that he should make something important, like studying real art and become and actual artist. I interpret that you mean that he should study so that he can make money out of his art. Then he will be allowed to be proud you say? Is it idiotic to be proud over something that requires skill? No, it is not. Also it is not near as small as making a character on a game where the only difference is the clothing. To be good at PMG demands being creative and be able to use advanced methods to get the best result. How the fuck am I childish? I need arguments on that, because you didn't give me any. The shading Snipes uses is kind of realistic if you see that the light comes from above. That makes him good at shading, but to be pro demands you having that as a profession, thus the word Professional. I agree that his attitude has been bad here on facepunch. He is mostly not this bad on Flickr, except when people accuses him of wrongdoing.
hahaha. whatever, honey. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] and no, it doesn't take skill to make a good looking gun on a program MADE FOR MAKING GUNS EASILY. not bothered to make one right now but don't worry, i'm going to juuuuuust to prove you wrong.

See this? the dust cover goes over the cheekrest, the grip is badly blended and the magwell looks retarded. See? The cheekrest have been replaced by a surface on the stock. The blending is better. Lines follow through, the magwell is better, the hand guard looks just right, there is highlightning from a light source above, there is shine from the ammo counter. You see how my skill escalated during this year? I have now skills to make glorious weapons, unlike before.
WHO FUCKING CARES

[editline]15th September 2011[/editline] you can't shade in that programmmmmmm stop saying you're artistic because you make guns with a flash program made for making guns. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] just make the guns for fun dude. that's p much what i'm saying. stop caring so much about ~BIG FLICKR COMPANIES~ etc. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] i'm out of this thread because i've started some shit on this page and got nightwings all pissy. sorry if i bothered anyone!
The light source is the top...
no it isn't, the gun would be casting shadows on itself if it was. it looks more like ambient occlusion other than actual shading according to a light source. there's also no material definition on this program which sucks for you artists! but hey, i'm outta here! [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] also, glorious weapons! you're cute nightwings, i bet your parents love you!
1. I prefer just Snipes, I just used PMGSnipes because I'm pretty sure Snipes is taken 2. I can draw really well in real life, this is an extension of my artistic ability 3. Your shading makes sense, but we use different light sources. I use the top, slightly to the left and somewhat from the front, and also incorporates shine. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
no it isn't, the gun would be casting shadows on itself if it was. it looks more like ambient occlusion other than actual shading according to a light source. there's also no material definition on this program which sucks for you artists! but hey, i'm outta here! [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] also, glorious weapons! you're cute nightwings, i bet your parents love you!
I don't think I made it clear enough, Top, Left and Front is where the light is coming from. Sorry, I just said top before.
before i leave however, here's the picture of a m16 with actual shading: it clearly has a light source, it clearly has material definition, and it actually has shading. stop saying what you do is "shading", it isn't. you're just applying some crazy depth to it. not proper depth either (if it were proper depth, i wouldn't be complaining so much!) taken straight from wikipedia:
Ambient occlusion is most often calculated by casting rays in every direction from the surface.
which is basically what you're doing. if you were to shade it properly i'm sure that PIMP MY GUN wouldn't be the best software to do so. [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9d/Aocclude_insectambient.jpg[/img_thumb] here's an insect with ambient occlusion, the shadows on it were calculated from a global lighting. which is BASICALLY WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR SHADING. and it isn't "shine", it's material definition. you also tried to replicate that on that hekler & koch of yours but it didn't do much justice because you don't know how materials work, you never studied drawing rubber, plastic, metal on different lighting circumstances, hence why you don't have a grasp of how to do proper shading. what you do isn't shading. now i'm outta here, i don't think i need to argue any more with you guys.
You know what? Fuck this shit. It's been fun guys but I'm leaving this thread.
It still depends on how big your light source is. If my shading isn't correct, then yours isn't either. Hell, nothing in PMG is. All I'm doing is changing the light source, so your argument applies to PMG in general [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] I'm just going to go flood this thread with my PMG codes. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] Oh crap, too big.
what the hell are you guys even talking about.
I almost forgot what this thread was about.

what the hell are you guys even talking about.
I almost forgot what this thread was about.
Pimpmygun...
Of course but you guys almost derailed the thread talking about shading and crap, hardly posting content, and generally making my viewing of this thread unpleasant. i expected nicely made guns from PMG, but instead I have a page long argument.
You want nicely made guns? Check it out AR-338, AR-15 style .338 LM "Recce" rifle. Maybe I should have reworded it. New, nicely done gun made in PMG. Not reposts. I don't mind them every once in a while but you literally just posted those within the last few pages.

I don't mind them every once in a while but you literally just posted those within the last few pages.
It generally takes me a day-ish to make a gun, and if that isn't up to my standards, I keep on working on it. The Sweetwater. one rifle took I think 3-4 days to make. That way, I can make sure they're all good. And these are all reposts, they're just guns from my Flickr stream. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
lmao pngsnipes is pro at making guns on a flash program!!! taking into consideration that you're a kid, you're wasting your precious time on something stupid like this, and the worst of all is that you're proud of being good at something so insignificant. why dont you actually do studies on how shading actually works, and invest the time you waste on a stupid little flash program in studying drawing and painting instead? you know, become an actual artist? i don't want ur reply cause i don't wanna clog up the thread with drama but that miserable ego of yours isn't taking you anywhere.
I CAN shade irl, I can draw, but in PMG, I'm just doing the best at shading my computer actually lets me do. It's as realistic as my crappy, piece of shit computer can handle.

The barrel is way too small and way too long imo. Except if you expect these to shoot BBs or tiny cute little bullets.
The barrel is way too small and way too long imo. Except if you expect these to shoot BBs or tiny cute little bullets.
It's long for a reason, and it shoots 9mm bullets.
