Wouldn't it be a bit better if you put the magazine a little bit more to the right (front), so that you can hold the stock"grip" and the pistol grip, and just make the front handguard disappear, shortening the rifle down a bit?
That sounds.... weird.
That sounds.... weird.
It's the same as using the trigger with your left (front) hand, basically. I agree it sounds a bit unorthodox.
[editline]IN THE FUTURE![/editline]
Is is possible?
This sentence almost made me use a picture of that guy from history channel.

I would believe that it would be highly uncomfortable

It's similar to how you hold real modern rifles as well, only you hold your rear hand lower than your front hand

Here's basically my gun concept.

The green triangle points to the loading area/ejection port, and the knobby thing next to the stock is what closes the ejection port. Pops open, ejects and locks open when fired, new round goes in, hit the knobby thing and it closes, ready to fire.
Make some more pics of mechanism for extra clarity please.

Let's say here, it's loaded and ready to fire

Firing:

Load in a new round:

Button down, ejection port slams shut:

My PMG design could be loads better but the concept is the same.
That is very interesting, and might work, but you'd have to have the button operate some sort of spring powered mechanism to make it snap forwards.

Yeah, I figured. Good concept for a cheap and still viable single-shot grenade launcher though.

Except the fact that the trigger is on the front which may be a bit unadaptable.

Wouldn't be such a huge difference, you just learn to pull the trigger with your other hand, it's not like a ordinary bullpup where everything is pushed way forward.
Work in progress

I made this because "ain't nobody ever gone done that before"
That stock...
I have a confession. Almost all the time-consuming parts of my guns are just stolen from my old guns.
:downs: That's interesting, post your old stuff we haven't seen yet please.
:downs: That's interesting, post your old stuff we haven't seen yet please.
I'll have to download the code from Mediafire (I accidentally deleted my codes folder, so I get my codes from Mediafire), which is time consuming because I can't bulk download, and then get the pic again.
I haven't animated a gun in a long time... Or even made one..
I probably should.

And you shoot with your rear hand. I would believe that it would be much more controllable if you hold your supportive hand on the front and your triggerhand in the rear. Also, try holding like you instructed in the air. I find it harder to control when I hold the "stockgrip" in the right hand and the triggerhand in front. When holding the other way, I would have harder time aiming as it would be on the other side of my head.

Yeah, I don't think a front trigger would give you the ability to fire and really control the weapon at the same time. I might be wrong, I've never fired one given that they don't really exist, but I'd think that's the reason guns are the way they are now.

how do trigger pulling?
or do you push your thumb backwards to shoot?

I did try holding like that or I'd never say anything about this. But yeah, it's all about every persons own preferences, as I am left handed (even tho I can use both hands equally good when using weapons, and almost as good when writing) I find it comfortable and thus, usable.

I dunno, some sort of force gun thingy that I ended up with after trying to make one of those concussion blaster things from The Minority Report.
Yes, it doesn't have a trigger. Fuck triggers. This is the future, get some mental links all up in this bitch. You think shoot, the gun shoots.

It's interesting, but putting the file as a jpg, ruined the gun.

they all have 2 ammo types and work with the same caliber.
except the shotgun that has the basic ammo: buckshot shells and slug rounds.
