I found a pretty funny YouTuber a few years back called supsmal23. He was like a proto LtMkilla, but with a PS3 instead. He posted a video saying that he was moving back to Chicago and that the uploading of the video would be confirmation of his arrival. He never posted anything again. All of the comments on his page is people asking where he went/pleading for him to come back.
Biotic Used to play/talk about Starcraft 2 with him, but then we had a falling out. Then a few weeks/months later I was told he died from an asthma attack June 30, 2012. Now he has an open memorial page on facebook, which his family members use quite frequently
Came in here to post about him. I just remember planning to SC2 with him but we never got around to it. I ended up going out to a party and told him I'd play the week after. Didn't realise that weekend was his last. Really sucks because he would've been young as too.
I get a burning, warm, uncomfortable feeling in my chest reading this thread. Reminds me that no matter how much you love a person, either you or them will disappear suddenly. Some of my steam friends have been offline for over two years, I removed them thinking that they just stopped using steam and never really gave the possibility of them being dead a thought.
http://steamcommunity.com/id/iefkasdfghyihmgbnballs/ https://www.youtube.com/user/kitty0706/ If he is dead, then rip. I think somebody is logging onto his account though, since his recent names have been changed from the last time I checked back in 2015

The first time someone brings it up your brain doesn't click just yet that it happened until a few hours or a day later, at least with me. Then hits hard for months.
It's even more surreal to see a dead family member in person, when less than 12 hours ago you were having a conversation with them.
This reminds me of that feel I got when I spoke to a person, and 20 minutes later got a call they died in a car crash.
I lost a good friend almost a year ago (this Feburary will be the anniversary). We hadn't talked much lately but we got on really well and always had a laugh whenever we went out. He was probably one of my best friends, to be honest. One night, I was just relaxing and about to play Battlefront II, and then another one of my friends called me in floods of tears, saying that he thinks that friend had died. It turns out he'd killed himself by standing on a level crossing. Honestly, I still feel somewhat uneasy whenever I walk over one, and I haven't been able to bring myself to play Battlefront or any of the other games he introduced me to since. I'm lucky not to have lost anyone other than some of my elderly relatives and him, but it hit me really hard, and I'm still kind of reeling from it almost a year later. If I had anything to learn from it, it's not to think that your friends don't care any more just because you haven't spoken in a while.
https://www.youtube.com/user/3PACTVHD made a thread about this a while ago but damn it still gets to me... so sad man, he was such a cool funny guy.

I even did some model stuff for some of his videos. When I heard he died I was really taken back. I haven't had someone I actually know die before so it was an odd experience.

I think somebody is logging onto his account though, since his recent names have been changed from the last time I checked back in 2015
Oh dear... He's been dead for quite a while, since almost exactly a year ago I think. I knew him directly, and man I felt like shit when I was informed of his death. I found out about it through Facebook, the moment I saw his last post saying leukemia got him and I saw the edited part added by his family, my... my jaw dropped. I was speechless. I especially still feel like shit to this day because the last message he sent me was a happy birthday message the month before, to which I didn't reply for some reason... Rest in peace, Elliot, rest in peace... Oh, and as for him coming online on Steam a few times, I think his gf said his family was messing around with his PC. His account hasn't come online since a few days after his death though.
It's even more surreal to see a dead family member in person, when less than 12 hours ago you were having a conversation with them.
This. My uncle had a kidney failure or something, the night before he died we brought fruits and stuff and went to see him in the hospital. I still remember what he said to my mom, "thanks a lot, but you should eat some more fruits too" Next morning it suddenly got worse and he died. [editline]we're[/editline] Do real life friends count? I had this friend when I was in junior high, she used facebook and would share stuff and post photos of her friends and her family. She drowned in 2012 summer, and she wasn't found immediately, her body was found a day later after she got blown into the sea by a wave. There were loads of people posting things like "she's definitely ok" "she will be found" on her wall Then her death got confirmed. Sometimes I check back to see her posts before that summer, when she was still active like even after all these years it still feels so unreal, like she's actually still alive or something
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Sunoken/ He was pretty good pals with me, and a lot of people I know. The surreal part is almost none of us knew that he was going to commit suicide, he seemed like a really chill guy. But one day he hinted at it during a conversation with me, and it never even occurred to me until it was too late. I just felt so blind.

It's weird now knowing that he died, he always seemed like a really cool guy when I went on that server. Everyone always seemed to get along with him, very popular guy there.
I had a 14 year old friend from Japan that was studying in abroad Canada for a while, and she told me she was going back to Japan. 16th of March 2015 was the last time she came online. In June I received news that she had died in a car accident in Japan. I really regret deleting her from my steam friends when clearing my friends list up. Not sure why I did, but her siblings are using her account now so they've likely changed its information. She was a really friendly and intelligent person. It really sucks she's gone.
Like 6 or 7 years ago I was good friends with a dude on steam and I remember us completing Portal 2 in co-op when the game first came out. One day he went offline and just never came back, never found out why.
I think all of my myspace friends died :(
I would agree, all of my myspace friends were last online somewhere in 2010 or 2011.
I remember Kinglah Crab died in the hurricane in New York a few years ago.
I remember Kinglah Crab died in the hurricane in New York a few years ago.
It must not have been a very peaceful death, cuz he still haunts this forum on occasion. :v:
It must not have been a very peaceful death, cuz he still haunts this forum on occasion. :v:
nah dood he straight up died.
There is someone I knew from Flipnote Hatena who died years ago. He drowned from what people have told me. He was really nice and quite talented when it came to animating. It sucks that this had to happen.

I knew this guy called InfernoEevee. We used to chat in a Mumble along with other people, and we made jokes about him smoking kratom and going to bed as a running gag. He was a bit of a goof. Then one day I logged on and was told that he died (I think in his sleep from complications), and somebody linked his obituary. I've never removed him as a Steam friend since.
Like two years ago there was this guy named sdk on the Steam Workshop for TF2 that was posting a lot of hats. None of them were particularly very fitting with TF2's art style and they were all named really similarly. I posted a comment on one of them (yeah I know it's dumb) and within a few minutes I get a friend request from him. I get this sinking feeling thinking that he's going to get mad at me in chat over some comment I left, but he actually started off the conversation with a "Hi there!" and basically passionately told me about his items and the story behind them and such. He also admitted to me that he was new to modelling and that he was still learning, and asked if I could teach him. I basically apologized for my dumb comment and told him I actually didn't model, but I mapped, and could teach him at least a little about TF2's art style and such. He agreed, thanked me, and went to bed. I'm not sure how long after I friended him that he did this, but one day he edited his profile description and told me about it. I wasn't really sure if it were a scam or prank or something, so I kind of kept quiet after that but still kept watch on his workshop submissions. A while after that, he stopped submitting workshop items and then eventually stopped logging onto Steam. I've still got him on my friends list. I wonder if he'll ever come online. I kinda feel bad about not talking to him.
