Quite. I actually do use those phrases often in hilarious mockery.
I am trying though to teach her how not to be a socially awkward person, and to stop using the word "Epic" so much.
No progress has been made despite my best efforts. I'm sorry.
What makes this funny is that people are using Japanese words and phrases in English so much that the words are slowly being added to the Oxford dictionary - http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/kawaii
It really annoys me when someone says "They killed it", because without context it's really confusing.
For example when discussing music, I've heard people in the UK say it meaning the song was terrible, yet I've heard people say it in the US meaning it was amazing. Common sense to be says it should have the negative meaning, stupid phrase argh

Any time a meme is used in real life I want to strangle someone.
Especially "seems legit".
I remember when "Cool story bro" was a actually a great response picture and it made the guy you're talking to look like a fool and it was awesome and stuff, then it somehow got into the hands of the swag kids... and...
It's not a cool story, bro
"Don't bash it until you try it"
I can't say rape's bad, I've never tried it...

rape is good
These are just few of the many phrases:
"I lost all hope for humanity."
"Deserved it."
"Excuses, excuses."
"Get out."
"No. Just no."
"And nothing of value was lost."
They bother me more than they should, so I guess they fit pretty well in this thread judging by the title.

I've never considered "seems legit" a meme.
I thought it is the equivalent of "looks sketchy" in slang terms.
"No. Just no."
A simple, straightforward "no" said with a pointed finger and direct eye contact is way more convincing and less butthurt.
"Bombed it"
DID YOU DO BAD OR GOOD, THERE IS SO LITTLE CONTEXT FOR THIS TERM!
"Lucked out"
The first time I heard this was in fourth grade. I put 0.7 lead in a 0.5 mechanical pencil. The pencil was jammed, and it was my favorite because it could switch to a pen if you rotated it. One of my classmates was trying to fix it, and after a while he looked at me, and I asked what happened. He said "You lucked out." I freaked out and almost started crying, because I thought he meant I was out of luck.
That's when I learned the definition of "to luck out".
"...and such." as in, "I went to the convenience store and got gas and such."
It's just a really poor way to end any sentence.

Why say "such" when you can say "whatnot"?
I really hate to say this, but it seems like a lot of people here are annoyed by this stuff (apart from the actual grammatical errors like 'I could care less') just because it's new and they've witnessed its entering the vernacular. This happens every generation, to be fair, there are always people that say "Those damn kids with their 'cool' and their 'hip'!", but you can only halt the progression of language so far before you end up creating another one. Of course, it's fine to not like it when people say phrases, but what are you gonna do about it if your great-great-grandchildren are all using 'troll' as a genuine term for annoy? Language is unstoppable. We may as well embrace it.
"Stop liking what I don't like"
"UMAD BRO?"
I don't like the term "sperger."
I have Asperger's Syndrome myself (I don't like to talk too much about it because of unfortunate prior incidents involving some random person stalking me online), and its kind of stereotyping Aspergerians to having bad behavior.

It's not even the word sperg that's shitty, it's the fact that the people using it CLEARLY have no clue what Aspergers actually is
Text faces like -.- and XD. Makes me want to drop-kick a bitch.
"I for one welcome our new X overlords"
Fandomlingu in general
Especially words that makes someone question his sanity if he said it in the normal form.
So i say, that they alter it just to not having to fear for social exclusion.
"I listen to all kinds of music"

Exactly that. It just spreads misconceptions.
The usage of the word "dude" used to annoy me, but now I embrace it. I call everything dude, but secretly in my head I'm undermining it and using it "ironically". I sometimes say it in a silly accent. I have the last laugh

The times my brother has called me by my name, as opposed to "dude," are very rare. Probably somewhere in the double digits.
Also, "calm your tits." I think it's meant to degrade a person, but it just makes me hate the person who says it.

"Calm your tits" is just as horrible as "umad?" because both imply you are angry at the start, but the sentence alone is the catalyst of you jumping on his throat.
It's annoying as hell.
The thing which annoys me the most is this shit:
"2K12" "2K13"...
There is no need to replace 0 with K.
When the people in my school say "Oh yeah, I can beat him/her in a fight"
"Ain't nobody got time for that"
Why the fuck are we still quoting a shitty reaction meme from months ago in daily conversation?
It stopped being funny a month after people noticed it.
"Friendzone"
Jesus fucking Christ, there are so many reasons I hate that word. It's mostly because the way guys are raised, in so many stories, the protagonist gets a female at the end like a prize. And this translates into real life by conditioning a lot of guys to feel like they're entitled to have a girl. It's a phrase that carries the idea that a girl has no choice over if she rejects a guy, that she has to say yes if he asks her out or else she's some sort of shallow bitch or something. Worse yet if she chooses another guy who's apparently a douchebag compared to the "nice guy" whom she rejected. It's so sexist it's unbelievable.
