I also don't like anime, but I thought that Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist were good animes. Plus Dragonball Z. I'm Toonami / Adult Swim bred.
I would have too say Lord of The Rings.
World War Z by Max Brooks. I love zombies and colorful realism. Oh, and guns with incendiary ammo (SIRs with PIE ammo), lots of those.
To be honest, I didn't think the Half Life series was that great, it had good aspects, but not very in depth.
Gonna add Legend of Zelda to the list.
