Why the fuck would the site legitimately charge for ratings? They're just pixels! What does Garry say about this?
Why the fuck would a company legitmately charge for video games? They're just pixels! What does Gaben say about this?
Ratings are totally different from games though.
No they're not. Ratings are a game, and the goal is getting as many of them as possible so you get a good high score.
send me your paypal info, i'll get garry to put you on the free ratings whitelist
I'm talking about paid pixels on an online forum.
paid = money money = income internet uses income facepunch is server server requires internet These simple words should enter your thick skull
paid = money money = income internet uses income facepunch is server server requires internet These simple words should enter your thick skull
But one shouldn't be charged for rating internet pixels to pay for using the Internet.
But one shouldn't be charged for rating internet pixels to pay for using the Internet.
Hey I just got paid 2 dollars
But one shouldn't be charged for rating internet pixels to pay for using the Internet.
There's a site for that It's called reddit
So what, does Facepunch die if people don't get charged for ratings? Whose wallet is the money going into? Garry's? The mods? Christ this has me angered and confused.

The OP received the fastest large amount of funny ratings I've seen.
Actually, i've heard that Gold members get paid for positive ratings. The 1$/€0,49 you spend on a 'funny' or 'winner' rating for example will go to the members paypal instead of Facepunch. This is how they reward good posts.

[editline]5th May 2015[/editline] I haven't paid too much attention to the system, I was just smart enough to find out the cookie thing.

I just logged into PayPal this morning only to find out that I was charged $0.00.
I just logged into PayPal this morning only to find out that I was charged $0.00.
You're billed once a month
We could be like the Xentax or Something Awful forums and charge people just to register. Picture all the fat stacks that Garry would collect from all the spambots and Rust kiddies signing up.
I don't have paypal but I've bought a few games from Steam using credit card. Does Facepunch then charge directly from the credit card?
It is advisable to check if it's charging your Paypal properly. If it's not, you'll have to do the transaction manually, €0.49 per rating; not sure what it is in dollars. Much as you might laugh, it does in fact count as piracy, and Garry has been quite active in litigation in the past.
I wondered where that $30,000 came from, thanks for the free car! [editline]5th May 2015[/editline]
The OP received the fastest large amount of funny ratings I've seen.
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1210099&p=37545592&viewfull=1#post37545592
wait so couldnt this cookies method be easily exploited to taking someones entire account just by being on a website or am i dumb
uh dunno about you but I dont think anyone can grab your cookies if you keep them away from open windows
wait so couldnt this cookies method be easily exploited to taking someones entire account just by being on a website or am i dumb
Depends on how your browser handles it. Apart from Chrome, all browsers encrypt their cookies in ROT13 so that they can't be accessed. Chrome only encrypts the headers, which isn't nearly as effective and considered insecure.
