finished watching second and third seasons of minami-ke so i could watch the new one went easy once the second one was over.
Was it really as bad is this?
The new one is definitely better quality wise, but the old one has personality which I feel he lost a good bit of with his new style.
the new style does look far better but it does miss a little detail out the arms, specifically, could have had extra lines put in to show that they're bend (especially on the left (sakaki's right) arm)
Was it really as bad is this?
yes, most of the time.

oh aye overall it looks nice, but a little extra detail on bending limbs wouldn't go amiss
but on that pose there shouldn't even be any lines on her bent limbs. Put your arm in 90 degrees and see for yourself. The other arm shows the inside of the elbow, no lines to be drawn there unless that small 4koma panel was really detailed [editline]7th January 2013[/editline] I knew Araki was doing stuff for Gucci, but that it was gonna be on so many of their storefronts is pretty surprising and awesome. If you compare anime shows to western shows. Are anime any near as good/bad like western shows? I know anime is just animation and different culture, by through story, written, directed and so forth.

Do you mean a very strong dichotomy between "good" characters and "evil" characters, as seen in most typical "wild west" type shows?

He was asking if there where any comparisons between how good or bad anime where, compared to western civilization's animated shows.
Dude, I think you've completely misunderstood what he posted. He was asking if there where any comparisons between how good or bad anime where, compared to western civilization's animated shows.
I am mostly tripped up by this sentence:
Are anime any near as good/bad like western shows?
I originally thought of "western" as in western hemisphere, but that made very little sense in context. If we assume that it is "western hemisphere" then the only answer is "yes"; yes, there are shows that are as good or as bad in comparison to western shows.

Somewhat related, got an art poster from magfest, too bad I left it at my friends house.
If you compare anime shows to western shows. Are anime any near as good/bad like western shows? I know anime is just animation and different culture, by through story, written, directed and so forth.
I wouldn't necessarily say one is objectively better. However, I much MUCH prefer anime over western stuff because of the absolutely insane stuff you can find. No matter what your interests are, there WILL be something that caters to you.
I couldn't say if either are better because I love both. I love watching Adventure Time and Ben 10 but I also like to watch kawaii shoujos do kawaii things. Not to say that is all of what anime is but I have no preference on this. I basically have the same view on music. Why I hate it when people ask me, "What kind of music do you like?" Because I will listen to anything I find interesting. Same goes for movies/tv shows/etc.
finished chuunibyou, I have to say that it was pretty decent. so FA, what's the current most anticipated anime that'll be good in 2013?
Maoyuu is good
saw first episode of Maoyuu and that's something i'll be sure to keep an eye on. all that plot and economics.
Can someone link those Maoyuu gifs with Maou's 'economics' and 'plot' on display?
Well, Hellsing Ultimate 10 started off good then just became lots of blabber yabber and avoiding doing any fight scenes as much as possible and when doing them keep them as short as possible and make them move in an abstract way that makes it look like they're doing something cool when they're not really doing anything and try to compensate the not-any-fighting-really-going-on with the environment exploding every now and then. Hellsing Ultimate just got worse and worse after the first 3 episodes. I mean, it's good an all, but it just became more and more shounen shit let's talk about shit that doesn't matter and drag out these fights as far as possible without actually doing any fighting, let's also add in out-of-character speeches and love interests and what have you not just to keep this thing going. The story just became more and more nonsensical for each episode and the end didn't conclude anything but just decided to leave it all open and fine and dandy implying that the circle continues, which is fine I guess, nobody cares about the story to begin with, it's just that the story has such a huge fucking focus in the blabber jabber that takes up 80% of the episodes you can't really ignore it. And I really have no idea who to blame, did I just grow up over the past 5 years and not find it as fucking awesome anymore? Is it because Madhouse took over after the first 3 episodes? Did the manga just get infinitely more shounen shit after the 3 first volumes? Is it all 3? A mix of two? Just one of them? Which one? I can't tell. A weak 9/10, still worth watching for sure, but it really doesn't ever get back to being as good as it was in the first episodes. When they just wrecked havoc and shot dudes in the face and broke limbs and bones all the time and blood everywhere and then some talk-breaks in-between the action to give you some breathers. It just turned that formula upside down, the action became the break for talking.

I have the Nanami theme on my laptop, had it on my desktop for the longest time. For anyone who wants the theme, I recommend removing the CHING sound effect. It would happen repeatedly for no reason on my old desktop, nearly made me go insane.
finished watching Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail Surprising how much better it was than the manga while also improving things from the anime. Like how the shootouts happened without anyone getting hit, they really improved that which was one of the biggest problems in both seasons of the anime. The manga never had any real sense of location in the scenes which now in this OVA is easy to understand and follow it more easily. The somewhat original ending was much more preferable with [sp] Rock going more and more crazy, which they really showed throughout the OVA too[/sp]
