is the game they play explained in the first episode of chihayafuru and is it easy to understand??
Yes, but it's a plot driven show so you should watch the first season first.

yes i understood that
already getting ready to watch it
I find it a car wreck of a series. Maybe I have to read what it's adaptation is but I find it almost but not quite as bad as KMB.
the anime is really bad, but the visual novel is clannad/kanon quality.
blame the terribleness on jc staff

Well it's not over yet.
it's gonna have to do a hell of a comeback to make up for the crap we've gotten
is the game they play explained in the first episode of chihayafuru and is it easy to understand??
it's pretty easy to understand, but it's not explained in totality in the first episode. It explains more and more of the rules as it goes on.
A quick run-down is as follows:
- There are 100 poems in total, written on cards
- There are 2 players, sitting across from each other
- Each player gets 25 cards out of the 100 card deck, for a total of 50 on the playing field.
- They arrange them on their side of the playing field.
- The goal is to get rid of all of the cards on your side
- The deck of cards that the players take from have the 2nd verse of the poems; the card reader has a separate deck with the 1st verse of the cards
- The "poem reader" reads the 1st verse of a poem, then the players have to know what the 2nd verse is, find that card, and touch it with their hand
--- It could be on either side of the playing field, or not on the playing field at all (as there are only 50 cards out)
- If you touch a card on the opponents side and it wasn't the correct card, they can push any of their cards to your side. This means that they have one less card on their side. This is considered a foul.
- You can freely touch any of the cards on your side.
- It is also possible to rearrange the cards on your own side if you notify the other player beforehand.
There are also team matches that utilize all 100 cards in the deck.
and its so fast that you get it before they hear it

oh, it's that game. Well it seems simple enough.
The appeal of the show isn't entirely about Karuta specifically. It's more about the competitive nature of the game.
Well it's not over yet.
but it's been thirteen episodes and you still think it sucks
even it the final episodes turn out to be solid gold, weren't you saying earlier that watching something that's really bad for the possibility that it may turn out good is a bad idea?
it's gonna have to do a hell of a comeback to make up for the crap we've gotten
Yes, but the current arc isn't all that bad. The girl isn't retarded and her voice is nice and the story is interesting enough.

Yes if you have to watch a pile of shit for it to be good then it's not something you'd recommend anyone to watch unless it's really worth it. But that's recommending something to someone, that has nothing to do with whether it's good or not. If the latter half is better than the first half then it's more good than bad, no?
Does the three episode rule change depending on the length of the anime?
Does the three episode rule change depending on the length of the anime?
in my opinion, the three episode rule is nothing more than a rule of thumb
if it's highly acclaimed (especially if people claim it starts out slow) then the 3 episode rule should be ignored
That was a good start to the new season of chihayafuru.
It still has tons of crazy faces as well
Of all the people in Sakurasou, you hate Aoyama?
Come to think of, 'taking on loads of needless jobs' makes me think you're not paying attention.
I am paying attention.
Yes, how dare she not be a cissexual white male with a middle-high income from an established society. How dare she not be as privileged as all the rest of us folk. She deserves to be dealt with in a violent manner, doesn't she?
It's funny because you misunderstood what I wrote
seek help
I am fine.
You guys don't seem to have even read what I posted, or maybe you did and I just badly worded it but whatever, I'll explain. I'm angry at Aoyama for taking on all of these chore jobs despite the fact that she has all of these work jobs. As I said, bringing out the trash even though she could barely stay awake, and looking after shiina, even though kanda is doing a fine job. I mean she's got determination, I'll give her that, but I dislike the fact that without realising it she is more of a burden than if she had just kept at those work jobs, that said, she wasn't exactly living a healthy lifestyle, I doubt she got enough sleep in the first place, but her stupid attitude only worsened her condition.
Anyway, I started watching tomoko market and kotoura-san. Tomoko market is what I thought it was going to be, kotoura on the other hand was quite a shock. I knew nothing about it until yesterday or the day before when someone posted saying that they had watched it and that it was surprising or something. After watching the first half of the episode, it's like it became completely different. It was pretty brutal when[sp]Haruka's mum pushed her, I felt bad for her[/sp]and I suppose that isn't exactly brutal, but it was pretty shocking to watch.

So you're totally noticing WHY Aoyama's taking on those chores like Mashiro duty even though Kanda's doing just fine?
I'll give you a hint: [sp]it involves her crush that everybody but Kanda seems to know about and her kind of creepy clingyness considering Kanda.[/sp]

Shes also the kind of person who doesn't like to depend on anybody else
so I've just watched from Episode 1 to 7 of Ergo Proxy
goddamn the soundtrack is great, but hey, it's Yoshihiro Ike, mastermind of the Tiger & Bunny OSTs
Monoral and Radiohead too, Monoral is damn nice

Didn't really look at it from that perspective, I was more going on the idea that she was to proud to accept help, that's why I disliked her. I shall have to sort of re-think the way I look at her.
After watching Higurashi for 6 or so hours straight I was afraid to go to bed with the door shut and close my eyes[sp]I went to bed after the episode where rena tells Shion about how "He stands by your bed" and "Walks behind you" shit[/sp]do you think a pussy like me could cope with both episodes of Denpa teki no kanojo then go to bed?
