Watched some of Gainax's early work. Wings of Honneamise and Otaku no Video. Both very good.
I'm loving Robotics Notes Thanks FA [sp]and there was a beautifully subtle stein's gate reference in one of the episodes[/sp]

wait, so sorata doesn't actually make games, He's just an IDEAS GUY? [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] i assumed he also made the last two games
wait, so sorata doesn't actually make games, He's just an IDEAS GUY? [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] i assumed he also made the last two games
It's called being a game designer. The cat game was programmed by the shut-in guy, Sorata only gave input on what worked and what didn't. The two other games were purely presentations. Also, speaking of the newest game. Sequence much?

[editline]30th January 2013[/editline] he was still overly depressed over his failed ideas though
So i decided to check out senyuu because I like shounen action fantasy and thought it would be interesting. It turns out it's 5 minutes long, so there's like no action and barely shounen. It's pretty much entirely Comedy-Fantasy. But that doesn't matter because it's hilarious and well worth the ~5 minutes spent watching it.
I hate realizing that I somehow missed a whole episode of a series by watching like 25% of the current episode and going, "Wait a minute.....this is inconsistent."
so has he said he wanted to be a game designer from the start and i totally missed it? [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] he was still overly depressed over his failed ideas though
I believe so, yes. Well, actually I only think he has stated that he wanted to make games. But that's basically what a game designer does, at least the closest kind of person you can get to that can say "I make games", everyone else on the team "makes things for games". that alltogether becomes a game. A game designer makes the game on paper, how everything will work, figures out the mechanics and minute-to-minute basis things whereas the rest of the team pitches in their ideas to the game designer and otherwise just creates what he tells them to create. Of course he was depressed over his failed ideas. He failed, what he came up with wasn't good enough, he worked his butt off and didn't suceed. Coming up with proper ideas for games on a game-designer level is hard work. We're not talking wishy washy fanfiction material here. "omg I want a gayum with zombies and then theyre in space and fight eachother, it would be great", it's in-depth detail about what kind of game you want to make, what kind of mood or themes it tackles, what kind of story it will have, what kind of mechanics it will include, how the mechanics will be pulled off and incorporated into the game, what kind of experience everything tries to bring to the player, why it will sell and so on and so forth.
he was still overly depressed over his failed ideas though
I take it you've never tried real hard at something only to fail?
it's just that he acts like he absolutely needs to win some competition
He needs to win it to achieve his dream so he has every right to act like that.
I hate realizing that I somehow missed a whole episode of a series by watching like 25% of the current episode and going, "Wait a minute.....this is inconsistent."
Happened to me recently with Soul Eater. I lost my place in the episodes, watched #43, and realized the last episode I watched was #25 after some backtracking.
He is doing more than me. I have some friends i'm super jealous of and I don't even try to better myself.
it's just that he acts like he absolutely needs to win some competition
This is a dream he's chasing, why the flying fuck wouldn't he act like he absolutely needs to win that?
it's just that he acts like he absolutely needs to win some competition
I don't think you know how ambitions work.
This is a dream he's chasing, why the flying fuck wouldn't he act like he absolutely needs to win that?
sorry i didn't know becoming a game designer meant winning a game design competition
sorry i didn't know becoming a game designer meant winning a game design competition
Well, since the competition guarantees your game to be developed if you win, it's your best shot.
sorry i didn't know becoming a game designer meant winning a game design competition
Sorry, I didn't know people entered competitions without the intention to win.
I hate realizing that I somehow missed a whole episode of a series by watching like 25% of the current episode and going, "Wait a minute.....this is inconsistent."
it's even worse when you get that feeling so you go back and watch the last episode but you've actually just seen it and the show has this strange unfitting gap of stuff happening between episodes [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] then they release episode 12.5 as a blu-ray extra
Akuma has no dreams.
Akuma has no dreams.
no he's hunting for them alright fixed it, so let's try this again
Man, Kotoura is so fucking good. Glad my friend told me to watch it, because the synopsis on the chart gives a completely wrong impression of what kind of show it is. The artstyle is also a bit too cutesy for what they are trying to do at times, like, everything else works but then the art just blocks the whole mood and feeling they attempt at times. Anyways, this shit is so well paced, there has been so much happening in just 3 episodes and it has never felt unnatural, new things have been brought into each episode and everything that happens is dealt with in such a way that you buy it, nothing has felt forced or premature. The voice cast is fucking solid as diamonds, the characters are not at all unique, but I find the combination to be quite different, and the execution of the personalities are what really shines. The main is a likeable pervert, YES, a LIKEABLE PERVERT, holy shit, when did this ever happen? Fucking never. He's not rubbing it into our faces or making stupid poses and turning into a wave or any shit, his sex jokes are short and they never get long periods of focus, and they are one-offs, he doesn't drag shit on. Hell, most of his joke moments aren't even through normal jokes, rather he just imagines a fucking scene instead, and since the main girl is psychic she sees that, perfect, no words, all scenery, done with it. I also like the main girl character for actually having real struggles, like, not "OMG SO SCARRED FOR LIFE! THESE WOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEAL", she's not some whiny bitch that takes any oppurtunity to look back on her memories and go down a corner and cry or panick. No, she becomes fucking silent, the pain and memories swallows that bitch right up, she's not a attention whore pussy shit, she's a mentally scarred person that has shut herself from other people in order to keep the pain to herself and not inflict it on others which will in turn pain her even more. She's fucking terrified, but she ain't whiny. GOOD, you're doing it right, crybabies try to make their situation worse than it is, emotionally disconnected people have faced their situation and given up. (disclaimer: I don't emotionally connect deep with this girl and feel that she's some super well done character I feel sorry for, I am just admiring the fact that they've made her like this and done it right) This whole drama and comedy dynamic works really well, I'm glad they dedicated the whole first episode to set ourself into her life before she met the main guy, it really sets the tone for the show and makes everything much better than if they dropped that shit and relied purely on flashbacks and using good chunks of future episodes to sit down and explain it to the characters in the show. First impression 9/10 - solid as fuck. Where has this show been all my life?
I love how Take On Me by a-ha started playing in Spotify as I read this as if this was the most amazing read in my life. It was.
I love how Take On Me by a-ha started playing in Spotify as I read this as if this was the most amazing read in my life.
Why are you implying it wasn't?
I'm sorry. I fixed it for you.
Anyone watch this? Friends and I are watching it tonight, curious if anyone else has seen it.
Best one of the 4 projects that came out last year. The ending is fantastic.
Sweet, looking forward to tonight then.
Mondaiji-bunny, is your male MC gonna become less of an arrogant smug cockhole any time soon? Would be much appreciated. Also, what's the best way of making gifs out of anime clips?
