Just finished Chikan Otoko, (same author as Onani Master Kurosawa) Amazing read 10/10, I recommend it to anyone who liked Onani or just a fan of romance/comedy/drama in general.

is that a manga of (´・ω・`) or something else?
Shingeki no Kyojin and Oyasumi Punpun are also very good. This was only one volume, but it's most definitely worth reading.
Something else, the MC is not a creepy stalker, just mistaken for one.
It's also a lot more natural (because it's based of a "real" story) than other romance manga.
The jokes are also golden
Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Are Light Novels worth it?
if so, can anyone recommend a good, preferably short and fully translated one?

I dunno about illustrated ones, but Welcome to the NHK is one of my all-time favorites and it's pretty short. And they're just as much worth it as any other literature.

Light novels are a lot like visual novels, but with less visuals
If you're not a fan of visual novels you probably won't enjoy light novels either.
Fate zero
Welcome to the NHK
Both are somewhat short and fully translated, but they both have relatively good adaptations so there's little reason to read them unless you want more of what the anime gave you
I agree completely, I've never watched an anime based on what it was rated on mal, mostly I pick up stuff that looks cool from here, or it gets recommended to me.
I pay attention to ratings but I take opinions from friends with a higher value.

if you're gonna read a light novel make sure you read one that is professionally translated

durr
well there's little to no difference when they're written in english aside from the occasional picture
I betcha hogofwar just means japanese novels translated into english when he says light novels
[editline]5th February 2013[/editline]
Also limiting yourself to only professionally translated novels/light novels is a pretty dumb idea
I know it's not uncommon for there to be badly-written novel/LN fan translations but there's also bad manga scanlations and anime fansubs. You just need to learn how to identify which ones are shit and which ones aren't.
Light Novels are often serialized, right? Or something.

but with manga you get pictures and from anime you get sound, which helps weeding out the bad.

Yeah, it's probably more bearable but a hadena-level translation will still essentially ruin the experience as the dialogue is key to most anime and manga
it's easy enough to figure out which fan translations are shit and which aren't
Light Novels are often serialized, right? Or something.
They are often serialized, and probably more so than regular novels, but with the few translated novels of either type it's silly to generalize

but it's the translations you don't notice that are the worst

Oh, I just listen to strangers on the internet, the ones here, unlike the ones on mal, that other group of strangers on the internet
Are Light Novels worth it?

I don't like light novels, as someone who likes both manga and regular novels, light novels feel like a cop out.

the only light novels i have bothered to read are haruhi suzumiya series and baka test, both which are not finished and partially translated; however, both are entertaining to read. baka test manages to embellish on some areas which are sort of lost in the anime; the hideyoshi being a trap gag may get repetitive in the anime, but it remains pretty funny in the novel when you notice in the narration that akihisa is slowly turning gay for hideyoshi
light novels tend to focus more on talking and dialogues, and all of them that i have seen have it written in first person from the view of the protagonist. also at times, the prose is ugly with too much embellishment.
