So I managed to get The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya to work. What exactly am I watching here, like it made sense up until ep4 when things happened, and it was like there where bits missing from the episode. Like it would switch from one background to another without anything happening. I also got the feeling that parts where made at different times, not sure if this is true (It sounds stupid now I've said it) but the way the characters where drawn and shaded seemed to change along with camera angles. Apparently there is like a special way to watch them (Here I was thinking chronologically would do fine, just like everything else) But then you have to watch episodes from series 1 when you watch series 2 for it to make sense or something. I'm actually close to giving up watching because what I've seen isn't really worth the fuss. I mean it isn't bad, I just find it a little hard to believe, it all seems to forced. Thought I should post the proposed order
Season 1:NON-linear "Kyon order" 11, 01 02, 07, 03, 09, 08, 10, 14, 04, 13, 12, 05, 06 Watch Season One in this way, then watch Season Two in "Haruhi Order". You will watch season one two times, but it is worth it. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Season 2 (and 1): Chronologically "Haruhi order" 01, 02, 03, 04 05, 06, 07, 01* 08, 09, 10, 02* 03*, 04*, 05*, 06* 07*, 08*, 09*, 10* 11*, 12*, 13*, 14* 11, 12, 13, 14 * = Season 2 Just so you know, episodes 3~8 in Season 2 are basicly the same. They are thrilling to watch, though. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
Episode order isn't too hard to figure out.

That's a Rickenbacker ain't it? I may need to watch this then.
It is indeed a left-handed blue vintage Rickenbacker 4001.

Got a question here, what do you guys think about tekkonkinkreet, arguably one of my favorite films of all time? I only found out about it earlier this year and I really enjoyed it. What's your opinion on it?
HeroicPillow I don't accept Welcome to the NHK as slice of life. The way the romance works in the show is very fictional and it uses a lot of comedy story telling and techniques as well as showing delusions in the show.
Could you give me an example of anime that embodies slice of life? I've tried to understand your idea of what it is multiple times, but either you're flip-flopping on the meaning or not explaining it in a way that I can easily understand. So it would be easier it you just told me of an anime that is essentially the essence of slice of life. I looked at MAL's explanation of the genre but a majority of the examples it gave seem to conflict with what they were saying in the description itself. Based on their explanation I wouldn't like any anime that falls directly into their description, so I wouldn't be able to recommend anything for a genre that I just fundamentally don't like. Remove whatever you want from that category for me. (P.S. I have no idea what you meant by "as well as showing delusions in the show". If you feel like it, could you explain that to me in an alternate manner?)
Fullmetal Alchemist is labeled as fantasy everywhere, so it should be voted for in the Fantasy section, not Supernatural.
In my opinion it is both fantasy and supernatural. As you said earlier magic is categorized as fantasy. Alchemy as it is used within the series is more like magic than anything else, so it would be a fantasy element. It then uses that fantasy element to explain a lot of the supernatural creatures/beings that are encountered in the story. The two main reasons I considered it to be supernatural were Homunculi & Robotic limbs that give supernatural strength. Although it does use magic as an explanation for the existence of homunculi ([sp]mostly the whole scene at the end of brotherhood with "Father"[/sp]), it would be no different than including a lycan and then later saying their origin came through magic (rather than evolution or ..."wolf sex"?). The entire story is focused on the supernatural beings "homunculi", how they came to be, and who created them. You could also include the various "soul-bound robots" that appear throughout the story to be supernatural, which yet again have their existence explained through magic.
Explain to me in what way Hunter X Hunter (2011) is fabulous.
It really is only one or two characters in the show, and linksysruler did a good job getting some screencaps of why I felt it should be in there. A majority of the fabulous moments are from a single character, although there's this general air of fabulous-ity I get when watching the show that I can't explain very well. I'm not entirely sure what the cutoff point for this category would be, and if it's not substantial enough I'm fine with you removing it. For example I wouldn't nominate FMA:BH for being fabulous even though it has a regularly occurring fabulous character, but I would nominate HxH because it has a fabulous character and I get the vibe from a lot of the other characters as well. I didn't agree with the inclusion of the category in the first place as there aren't very many that could go into it. It's like having a category for "Anime with shoujo spiders". I can think of maybe 2, and one of them is only an episode long. Unless there's some hidden vault of fabulous anime that I am ignorant t, there's just not enough source material yet to justify it. Do you like dark comedy, slapstick, anti-humor, deadpan, etc?
wait is the vote thing going on, someone link me to the post
I think therefore I am? Anyways I may be backlogging myself by asking this, but any recommendations to someone whose sense of humor is more warped than a piece of plywood left out in the rain?
That's a little vague, don't you think? Warped could be insane, or completely mundane
wait is the vote thing going on, someone link me to the post
The vote thing went on quite a while ago. It was towards the middle of the last thread I think.
the animation is too
It's a decent concept, the art itself looks good, and it was pretty smooth, but that was "badly" animated. The bodies are so far out of sync with the background at a lot of points, especially at the beginning and end. A lot of the animation at the beginning of the anime was better, so i'd actually say that the animation is getting worse.
KStyleAzure Space Brothers is not a drama. It's just a slice of life show, it has some drama techniques every now and then, but that's usually only on cliffhangers and not how the show itself is. All in all it's just a slice of life sci-fi show. A drama has dramatic moments and focuses on characters put in certain situations and how they handle them. With Space brothers it's the journey of one man and his brother, and how everything just simply turns out alright for them. It's not a drama. Jinrui Wa Suitai Shimashita is fantasy, not supernatural.
I noticed I can't edit that post anymore so have a shitty pastebin of my new votes. quick and easy changelog: * brand new never before seen "Slice of Life" category, entry(s): Space Bros * Space Bros in "Drama" replaced with Nodame Cantabile * Jinrui wa Suitai in "Supernatural" replaced with Shinsekai Yori * Madoka in "Fantasy" replaced with Jinrui wa Suitai
