Isn't that still airing? I missed it on the first read through, but if you can find the original post again it is there.
I agree. Who even owns porn mags anymore?
They need to change the joke so the girl finds their porn folder(s)/bookmark(s) on the computer with lots of weird fetishes.

After seeing KyousoGiga on mandragon for so long, and thinking that it looked pretty cool, I decided to finally watch it. The easiest way to describe it would be, "What an anime made by Misaki from sakurasou would look like". It was great, and i'm now off to check out the "second season". I just wish it was available in a better quality.
So I marathoned the fuck out of Sword Art Online and now i'm sad. WHY MUST SATURDAY BE SO FAR AWAY????
DGG said it was all right to include currently airing anime into the lists when he originally wrote the post. I missed it on the first read through, but if you can find the original post again it is there.
Ummm, airing shows from the summer season or before. Shinsekai Yori started in the autumn season, which is the season you were not allowed to vote on because it wouldn't finish during the voting timelimit.
Could you give me an example of anime that embodies slice of life? I've tried to understand your idea of what it is multiple times, but either you're flip-flopping on the meaning or not explaining it in a way that I can easily understand. So it would be easier it you just told me of an anime that is essentially the essence of slice of life. I looked at MAL's explanation of the genre but a majority of the examples it gave seem to conflict with what they were saying in the description itself. Based on their explanation I wouldn't like any anime that falls directly into their description, so I wouldn't be able to recommend anything for a genre that I just fundamentally don't like. Remove whatever you want from that category for me. (P.S. I have no idea what you meant by "as well as showing delusions in the show". If you feel like it, could you explain that to me in an alternate manner?)
Well first of all MAL is a fucking shit source for anythinging informative, really. They label a show everything they can possibly label it for no good reason. That's why I check up genre labels on both MAL and ANN to make sure, since ANN is a more serious site. This is basically why people don't know shit about slice of life and label anything that has relaxed story pacing or has in some part of the show more focus on the daily lives of the characters than story and drama, a slice of life. Slice of Life is a show that does not have a plot first of all, there is no continous story and we do not look at the hardships and troubles of being a space marine. Slice of life purely revolves around the daily lives of one or more people, usually a group. But daily life in itself can be very warped if you phrase it as "the daily life of a space marine", this is not slice of life. Slice of life is the daily life of normal people doing only things normal people can do. So, it revolves around the daily lives of completely normal people, it doesn't have any overarching story and plot is nonexistent. One more important things is that nothing unnatural can happen, though exceptions can be made if it's not re-occuring or part of the setting. (Aria features some magical elements, but it only happens in about 3 episodes over 3 seasons, everything else is completely within the boundaries of realism). Here I can use NHK as an example, in parts of the show he starts having illusions (this is the delusions I'm talking about) where his furniture starts dancing around and strengthening his conspiracy thoughts and puts alot of emphasis on his mental health status. This is unnrealistic and features visual techniques that shows us the hardships of this character in this fictional story to make us understand what's going on inside his head. In a slice of life show you have no way of showing such things because you're limited by realistic portreyal of the characters, he would need to show his mental health through what he does, not through illusions we can see that he interacts with. Another part of nothing unnatural happening is masturbatory visuals. This is when the character freezes to ice, turns into stone, gets an extreme and unnatural expressions or likewise and the background often turns into a single colour or a flash of lightning or whatever the hell. These are visual effects that masturbates the joke to try and heighten it through unnrealistic visuals. This is why Lucky Star really isn't a slice of life show, but a pure comedy show, people just don't get it because "they talk about how they eat croquettes!!! SLICE OF LIFE HURR DURR HURR". If you started seeing people getting cat mouths and the whole scenery around you changed into a yellow gradient then you would freak the fuck out, because that's not normal and you're hopefully dreaming. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is the perfect example of what slice of life really is. Usagi Drop is also a good example. Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, Honey & Clover and Working! are examples of how people missunderstands what slice of life is. Aria and Kino no Tabi are examples of exceptions to the rule because of the way it handles slice of life within the premise. (Aria is a sci-fi slice of life that features an insignificant amount of magical moments that are never brought up again, and the sci-fi aspect of it could be removed and the show would be exactly the same and Kino no Tabi features a talking bike and is set in a completely different world but still keeps everything realistic within the setting, the character doesn't do anything a human being couldn't do, and the bike could just as well be a normal person, and the people and situations that are encountered are peeks into the lives of different societies doing what societies can do)
In my opinion it is both fantasy and supernatural. As you said earlier magic is categorized as fantasy. Alchemy as it is used within the series is more like magic than anything else, so it would be a fantasy element. It then uses that fantasy element to explain a lot of the supernatural creatures/beings that are encountered in the story. The two main reasons I considered it to be supernatural were Homunculi & Robotic limbs that give supernatural strength. Although it does use magic as an explanation for the existence of homunculi, it would be no different than including a lycan and then later saying their origin came through magic (rather than evolution or ..."wolf sex"?). The entire story is focused on the supernatural beings "homunculi", how they came to be, and who created them. You could also include the various "soul-bound robots" that appear throughout the story to be supernatural, which yet again have their existence explained through magic.
You're already saying that everything "supernatural" about it is created through magic. That makes it fantasy. If everything is explained by the mystical powers of magic then it is 100% magic and not supernatural. The "supernatural" aspects of the show is simply magical aspects. The creatures are magical creatures, end of. Supernatural is superhuman strength and spiritual beings like ghosts. Powers from the deep depths of our own bodies or the afterlife. Also robotic limbs are sci-fi, not supernatural. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a science fiction game, not a supernatural game. but if the technology of robotic limbs comes from magic, then it isn't sci-fi, but magic, because they have no idea of how to make them by hand, only through the mystical powers of magic. (sci-fi is centered around technology, technology that is researched, known and producable by human beings)
It really is only one or two characters in the show, and linksysruler did a good job getting some screencaps of why I felt it should be in there. A majority of the fabulous moments are from a single character, although there's this general air of fabulous-ity I get when watching the show that I can't explain very well. I'm not entirely sure what the cutoff point for this category would be, and if it's not substantial enough I'm fine with you removing it. For example I wouldn't nominate FMA:BH for being fabulous even though it has a regularly occurring fabulous character, but I would nominate HxH because it has a fabulous character and I get the vibe from a lot of the other characters as well. I didn't agree with the inclusion of the category in the first place as there aren't very many that could go into it. It's like having a category for "Anime with shoujo spiders". I can think of maybe 2, and one of them is only an episode long. Unless there's some hidden vault of fabulous anime that I am ignorant t, there's just not enough source material yet to justify it.
It was just a legitimate question and I am glad to have seen proof, I have not watched the show myself. The reason we have the category is because the image limit allowed for it and there were no other sensible categories to put in (that we hadn't already tried and failed with). If the category doesn't fill in a decent handful of votes then it will be removed from the next OP vote like we did with the "historical" and "gore" category earlier.
Chuunibyou is making me smile like fuck when watching it, even more than watching SpaceBros. Rikka is way too cute.
Hm, I liked the relationship they had before with Rikka[sp]dropping hints occasionally but not full blown blushing 24/7[/sp]
Medaka Abnormal Ep 5 Zenkichi's badass levels up 500% holy shit
Continuation post. Ok, so fuck it, I just need to set off some time even though I don't really have it. Going through the votes for the new OP now. This post will be edited for the next couple of hours or so pointing out flaws in peoples votes, votes can then be changed for that specific vote I call out on or just have the votes I point out be removed. Of course, feel free to argue and prove that I'm wrong, as always I don't want the results of the list to be influenced by my personal feelings.
Ashxu Madoka Magica is not a supernatural show, it's purely magic, no supernatural elements to it. You've only voted for two shows in the supernatural category so I assume you just want the vote taken away? KStyleAzure Space Brothers is not a drama. It's just a slice of life show, it has some drama techniques every now and then, but that's usually only on cliffhangers and not how the show itself is. All in all it's just a slice of life sci-fi show. A drama has dramatic moments and focuses on characters put in certain situations and how they handle them. With Space brothers it's the journey of one man and his brother, and how everything just simply turns out alright for them. It's not a drama. Jinrui Wa Suitai Shimashita is fantasy, not supernatural. FalconKrunch Akira is a movie, movies can only be voted for in the movie category, thus you can't vote for it in the 20th century category. Same goes for 5 Centimeters Per Second in Drama. Paprika in Psychological. Akira in Science Fiction. Hoshi wo Ou Kodomo in Fantasy. HeroicPillow I don't accept Welcome to the NHK as slice of life. The way the romance works in the show is very fictional and it uses a lot of comedy story telling and techniques as well as showing delusions in the show. Ore no Imouto is borderline but I'll let it go since it seldom exaggerates comedic situations and keeps to realism. Fullmetal Alchemist is labeled as fantasy everywhere, so it should be voted for in the Fantasy section, not Supernatural. Explain to me in what way Hunter X Hunter (2011) is fabulous. Fruityfruit Since Clannad After Story is a second season you have to watch the first season for, I will count that vote for the first season. Same goes for the very odd vote you gave for the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya. (which I also removed from sci-fi)
Kidd Neither ANN or MAL categorizes Campione! as Action, therefore I am pretty sure it isn't action. Nichijou is in NO WAY AT ALL a slice of life show. That's the whole point of the name, it's ironically called "Daily Life". Working! isn't slice of life either. Tsuritama isn't sci-fi you silly goose. Kabuto Lots of votes that gets me a palm in the face but still works. However, Heartcatch precure is not labeled as action on MAL (and ANN for some reason didn't label it anything at all). Explain to me why you would recommend this magical girl show to people looking for a action show. Neither MAL nor ANN labels Taishou Yakyuu Musume as slice of life (which in itself severly disqualifies it for MAL's loose use of the genre even labeling AIR as Slice of Life). Seems more like it's a comedy sports show than a slice of life show. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is not labeled as romance either. I assume this is some perverted harem shit as well. Kaiji is a thriller, not a drama. Tatami Galaxy isn't supernatural. It's not fantasy, magical, sci-fi or supernatural really. (it's psychological) Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is not supernatural either, it's fantasy and sci-fi. Seitokai Yakuindomo isn't labeled as ecchi. I understand it so that they make some perverted jokes. But if it doesn't deliver a good amount of fanservice then it doesn't belong to the "perverted" category, because that's what it's for. Actually I'll rename it to "Fanservice" instead, makes more sense.
This kinda sucks, I can't watch chu 2 koi on my tablet. It lags like hell. MX player doesn't like it, does anybody know a better video player on Android?
Medaka Abnormal Ep 5 Zenkichi's badass levels up 500% holy shit
His badass level was already that high wtf r u talkin bout
His badass level was already that high wtf r u talkin bout
Leveling up 500% is not a measure. It's a multiplication of the state he previously was in. You're saying that I have 500 dollars and then I get 500% more resulting in 2500 dollars, and somehow my amount of cash was already 2500 dollars before they were multiplied by 5?!?
This kinda sucks, I can't watch chu 2 koi on my tablet. It lags like hell. MX player doesn't like it, does anybody know a better video player on Android?
For some high quality shows, there tends to be a lot of lag. I've encountered the same problem once before on my GSIII. I couldn't find any alternate video player; MX player is probably the best (free) video player there is. If I were you I would just put another show on my tablet and watch Chu on my computer.

Sorry, I may hav missed something somewhere, but how do we vote for shows? Do we do it in thread or do we pm dgg or something.
Pretty sure the voting deadline is long overdue
legend of the galactic heroes macross frontier ZIPANG! [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] also the sky crawlers but it's not exactly good, they put their entire budget into the air combat scenes and everything else sucks dick
I thought Glass Fleet was pretty good, there's another one. All the Robotech series as well.
Sorry, I may hav missed something somewhere, but how do we vote for shows? Do we do it in thread or do we pm dgg or something.
2 months late there bro. Voting began 14th September and ended 15th October.
Pretty sure the voting deadline is long overdue
Damn, that's a shame, oh well. It doesn't matter to much seeing as most of the stuff I would have voted for is already on there.
2 months late there bro.
Ah right, thanks. I'll make sure to vote next time.
well there was like 6 weeks of constant reminders
well there was like 6 weeks of constant reminders
6 weeks of reminders over 4 weeks of voting. Now that's amazing, I didn't know my godly powers were this strong. I rip time and the space time continuum without even noticing it.
Yess! New episode of Chu2, really looking forward to this!
