haha no. It means something like "Ghostory" Bake(mono) = ghost, monster. Monogatari = story
He was not talking about Bakemonogatari, he said Bakemonogatori.
who reads long words anyway [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] not me
Bakemonogatori Now according to my super rusty japanese. That would probabaly mean A ghost related bird?
it would mean "the monster is a bird"
Continuation post. Ok, so fuck it, I just need to set off some time even though I don't really have it. Going through the votes for the new OP now. This post will be edited for the next couple of hours or so pointing out flaws in peoples votes, votes can then be changed for that specific vote I call out on or just have the votes I point out be removed. Of course, feel free to argue and prove that I'm wrong, as always I don't want the results of the list to be influenced by my personal feelings.
Ashxu *RESOLVED* Madoka Magica is not a supernatural show, it's purely magic, no supernatural elements to it. You've only voted for two shows in the supernatural category so I assume you just want the vote taken away? KStyleAzure *RESOLVED* Space Brothers is not a drama. It's just a slice of life show, it has some drama techniques every now and then, but that's usually only on cliffhangers and not how the show itself is. All in all it's just a slice of life sci-fi show. A drama has dramatic moments and focuses on characters put in certain situations and how they handle them. With Space brothers it's the journey of one man and his brother, and how everything just simply turns out alright for them. It's not a drama. Jinrui Wa Suitai Shimashita is fantasy, not supernatural. FalconKrunch Akira is a movie, movies can only be voted for in the movie category, thus you can't vote for it in the 20th century category. Same goes for 5 Centimeters Per Second in Drama. Paprika in Psychological. Akira in Science Fiction. Hoshi wo Ou Kodomo in Fantasy. HeroicPillow I don't accept Welcome to the NHK as slice of life. The way the romance works in the show is very fictional and it uses a lot of comedy story telling and techniques as well as showing delusions in the show. Ore no Imouto is borderline but I'll let it go since it seldom exaggerates comedic situations and keeps to realism. Fullmetal Alchemist is labeled as fantasy everywhere, so it should be voted for in the Fantasy section, not Supernatural. Explain to me in what way Hunter X Hunter (2011) is fabulous. Fruityfruit Since Clannad After Story is a second season you have to watch the first season for, I will count that vote for the first season. Same goes for the very odd vote you gave for the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya. (which I also removed from sci-fi) Kidd Neither ANN or MAL categorizes Campione! as Action, therefore I am pretty sure it isn't action. Nichijou is in NO WAY AT ALL a slice of life show. That's the whole point of the name, it's ironically called "Daily Life". Working! isn't slice of life either. Tsuritama isn't sci-fi you silly goose. Kabuto *RESOLVED* Lots of votes that gets me a palm in the face but still works. However, Heartcatch precure is not labeled as action on MAL (and ANN for some reason didn't label it anything at all). Explain to me why you would recommend this magical girl show to people looking for a action show. Neither MAL nor ANN labels Taishou Yakyuu Musume as slice of life (which in itself severly disqualifies it for MAL's loose use of the genre even labeling AIR as Slice of Life). Seems more like it's a comedy sports show than a slice of life show. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is not labeled as romance either. I assume this is some perverted harem shit as well. Kaiji is a thriller, not a drama. Tatami Galaxy isn't supernatural. It's not fantasy, magical, sci-fi or supernatural really. (it's psychological) Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is not supernatural either, it's fantasy and sci-fi. Seitokai Yakuindomo isn't labeled as ecchi. I understand it so that they make some perverted jokes. But if it doesn't deliver a good amount of fanservice then it doesn't belong to the "perverted" category, because that's what it's for. Actually I'll rename it to "Fanservice" instead, makes more sense.
Taggart No, your korean movie is a movie and can not be put in the What The Fuck Am I Watching category. Same argument about Seitokai Yakuindomo as I gave to Kabuto about having it in the fanservice category. Please do prove me otherwise if I am wrong. Jorori You too have put Kaiji in drama, but it is a thriller, not a drama. Diebuster is a sequel to Gunbuster. Only your Gunbuster vote will be counted in Mecha. Daniellynet *RESOLVED* No, you can't vote for movies outside the movie category. Your vote for Akira on the 20th century category is denied. NO, you can't vote for Akira in the Sci-fi category either. ILY You can't vote for movies outside of the movie cateogry. Your Midori: Shoujo Tsubaki vote in the What The Fuck Am I Watching category is denied.
Rikka gets cuter every episode
"Tsuritama isn't sci-fi you silly goose." It was sci-fi-esque. Also, what page did I post mine?
"Tsuritama isn't sci-fi you silly goose." It was sci-fi-esque.
No. Explain.
No. Explain.
Mmm...I am thinking aliens but I guess it's really just a show about fishing. What would you call it?
I really hope chuunibyou ends with Rikka becoming normal. But it feels unlikely.
How about Yuuta embracing the dark flames once again?
I'd link you to last year's post which had all the Heartcatch Precure gifs of mahou shoujo aimed at little girls beating the shit out of things, but that's too much of a hassle so MAL or ANN doesn't label Taisho Yakyuu Musume as slice of life because barely anybody has watched it and therefore do not tag it properly. It has beisbol and some funny situations, but the whole show doesn't focus on those things. It shows quite accurately how girls of 1920s Japan have to live, what's expected from them, how 1920s Japanese girls deal with issues, 1920s life in Japan in general, how to pretend to be some kawaii as fuk gril that plays beisbol, etc. You couldn't be more wrong. It can be briefly described as "Dumb kid goes against the whole world to get his formerly dead but now android girlfriend's emotions back with the help from his friends." I really hope that isn't spoilery. Kaiji is both drama and thriller. The second season even has some Shawshank redemption shit with prison drama. Refer to the omnomasuar debate of long ago and how I support his stance which is why I put it there in the first place, and I know it's psychological, I voted for it in that category didn't I? There's ghosts, incubi, witches, and magic which somehow gets explained in a semi-spoilery way (although not very well in the anime) along with gods, deities while also maintaining the fantasy elements and sort of sci-fi.
Rikka gets cuter every episode
At this rate the show will suffer at totaly moe meltdown by the end of the series. Also I'm watching random animes before moving on to Steins;Gate. Saving the best for the last. Now watching Nyan Koi! Still in the 8th episode but [sp]OOOH MY GOD! PINEAPPLE! [/sp]

Taisho Yakyuu Musume - yeah okay. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (romance) - Doesn't really sound like romance to me since he doesn't actually interact with his lover, he just tries to bring her back. But it is romancy I guess. Kaiji - Second season doesn't matter since it's the first season that will be recommended and watched for the recommandation. So there is some overarching story and the character faces situations he has to handle that is beyond "Win dis battle shit and have it be tense as fuck".? Tatami Galaxy - I didn't object to the psychological. I objected to putting it in Supernatural. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (supernatural) - Fair enough.
How about Yuuta embracing the dark flames once again?
I dislike that, it just feels wrong.
I dislike that, it just feels wrong.
Goes against the show. I really wish they took the "curing the psychos path". Not "poisoning the clean" path. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] Because: http://tinychat.com/fpfa
