So i'm enjoying Cromartie. At least i think i am. Yeah it's pretty funny.
Dude...
When I'm talking about SUPER BRUTAL MURDER I am talking about the general theme of the show.
Theme is not subject. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] In fact, that's not even really a subject.
Yes, I am telling someone to watch something boring or bad to enjoy something that's good because that happens sometimes in every form of media. There's a reason Muv Luv Alternative is the highest rated VN on VNDB and in contrast, Muv Luv Extra is fucking awful and it's 30 grueling hours, (equal to about ~60 episodes of a typical anime series)
Then you are the worst person to get recommandations from.
I mean you don't want stuff like Another because not everyone is going to find the cheesiness to be funny. Another wasn't created as a comedy, it was created as a horror, but in a lot of people's eyes it didn't do a very good job of that. Add a little thing in the genre for comedy to "Please don't include shows that you found funny because they are 'so bad or cheesy that they are enjoyable'"
I don't want Another in comedy no. It's not labeled as a comedy either, so anyone that would vote for it in comedy would be dumb as fuck to begin with (and nobody has voted for it at all)
Which one?
Every movie voted outside of the movie category. Honey and Clover voted for slice of life. Working in slice of life. Seitokai Yakuindomo in fanservice (since I still haven't got any arguments for why it should be there I assume I was right about this) Welcome to the NHK in slice of life.
I was trying to put off on doing that because I wanted to fix the root of the problem instead of going by a case-by-case process.
Do both things at once, it's not that hard. Also I have yet to see there being a problem with the root, to me it seems more like the people trying to water it is the problem. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline]
Theme is not subject. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] In fact, that's not even really a subject.
DUDE! It's a replacement word for GORE, VIOLENCE or more commonly known SPLATTER that is supposed to make it clearer that I'm talking about gory fucking shows that aren't supposed to be funny. I would be glad to listen if you actually made any sense in this, but you're arguing about absolutely nothing. I said I don't want SUPER BRUTAL MURDER shows in the comedy category. Of course it goes without saying that I'm talking about shows THAT AREN'T FUNNY. I get it, you have a hard-on for black comedy and love semantics, now stop.
AlmightyOran Honey and Clover is for previously mentioned reasons not a slice of life show. (incredible amounts of drama and soppy super sad moments) For reasons discussed and solved The Idolmaster is a slice of life show, and a SOL show can in no way also be a drama. And since I have 2 sources confirming that it's very much a SOL show and that the only drama-like part of it seems to be "they are trying to make it big" I can not accept that shit as drama unless you have a very good argument for why it's a drama and not a SOL, or some exceptional argument for how it can be both.
Swap them around.
hey anime robotics ep 9 was cool, [sp]finally some connection to steins[/sp]
Titor, please.
Swap them around.
Then the question is. Would you recommend Honey and Clover to someone who wants a good drama? Voting on it for the slice of life qualities you found kinda says otherwise. And of course the reverse question about Idolmaster.

I used to have it some years back and I didn't find it useful at all.

Super Brutal Murder isn't a genre, comedy is. Super Brutal Murder may be something that happens in a show, but I've never seen anything on MAL that had the genre Super Brutal Murder. I get your point of a show that isn't comedy based not being in comedy, but something having super brutal murder doesn't exclude it from the comedy aspect just because you don't particularly find it funny. I'm not really a fan of Nichijou, I don't find it that funny. But I'd still classify it as humor. Idk I'm jumping in hi

Not at one single point did I say that gore and black comedy couldn't work together. Pick it up from the start to know why I'm raging the fuck out. I said I want people to get a comedy show when checking out recommandations for comedy, not get a SUPER BRUTAL MURDER show stuffed in their face. It's painfully obvious that I'm not describing the content of the show at all, but the kind of show it is. Dokuro-chan is not a SUPER BRUTAL MURDER show. It's a bloody comedy.

Here is the genre's on MAL for Hellsing: Action, Horror, Vampire, Supernatural, Military, Seinen. Tell me when you can find an anime that has "super brutal murder" as a genre ok thanks
Of course it goes without saying that I'm talking about shows THAT AREN'T FUNNY.
Logically, it doesn't. As long as the show contains a considerable use of humorous elements, even alongside elements like gore and violence, it can be considered funny and classified as comedy. It can also be classified as horror, action, drama, etc. given that it contains the right elements to be classified as such. It's not semantics. It's basic literary analysis.

Why is it so hard to comprehend that I'm just GENERALIZING A TYPE OF SHOW. Jesus christ!
dgg dgg clam down think about your blood pressure

Jesus christ!
idk 2/3 people in this convo think ur being silly ok you've been talking about it likes it's a genre, like super brutal murder is a defining element of a show and its something a show revolves around, aka a genre. you don't have to explicitly state something as a "genre" to make it one, the way you are writing your posts is misleading, and even if you're not defining super brutal murder as a genre you're stating it as a classification of a show when it isn't ok clam your tits boy

Blood everywhere, murder 24/7, guns blazing, zombie murder flesh eating metamorphosing vampire bloody killer. It's a SUPER BRUTAL MURDER show. It's gore and blood all over the place. I haven't in any way talked about SUPER BRUTAL MURDER as a genre and I don't understand how you can conclude that.

I would never want to have a discussion in real life with you guys because whenever someone would exaggerate or hyperbole something you would cough and stop the person speaking to correct them and tell them to use the correct terminology to explain things.
Wow, you guys, you guys... This has something to do with you guys as people. Social human beings. You've got this box of words, and when someone says something outside of the words contained in the box, or use them differently, you have to refer to the words in your box because you can't comprehend the use of the words.

A "super brutal murder" show seriously sounds like it could be humourous though.
it was hilarious, i loved another
idk we're not the ones trying to write our pHDs on anime classification (i think you've got some social issues if ur getting this heated when debating anime classification lel)
I don't see what anime has to do with general classifications used on all fiction in the world. And I don't see what classification has to do with exaggeration of the contents of shows used to make a clear image of what kind of shows I'm talking about.
not super brutal murder at all
not super brutal murder at all
I love how you make it so obvious that the point just goes 10,000 miles above your head.
You're all wrong, hellsing is a slice of life show!!!
