If there are only innuendos and no fanservice then it doesn't belong. It's a category for people that want ze tits and boobs. The shitstain part of the OP that brings out the worst of every voter.
Well I dunno it's got a pretty nice scene of Shino riding a dolphin but yeah probably best to move it to comedy then
It is a comedy. http://myanimelist.net/anime/2167/Clannad http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7809 Stop conflicting your opinion with an objectional truth. Also 1/3rd of each episode was usually comedy. Minimum. Congratulations, that's exactly why I said you haven't seen much if you haven't seen a sad comedy.
objectional truth, meh. I don't view the genre personally as a comedy, I'm not saying you can't think of it as a comedy anime, and I know even if I did that wouldn't halt your unreasonable sense of self-importance in-regards to your opinion. But hey that's just my opinion~ And It's obvious you're going to reply with "lol no its an objectional fact" or something as silly as that, but like many of your thoughts I can't say I care. In regards to when I was saying that what I said wasn't the opposite of the point I was previously making, now that I have more than 5 minutes to form a response. My point earlier was that you shouldn't exclude components or elements of an anime even if they aren't the prime focus, as I said in my post: I don't think comedy is a primary genre of CLANNAD, but I woudn't ever not mention to somehow how absolutely hilarious the jokes were when they did come up. Where as what you're doing is hiding that information, I'm just not giving it as much attention, but I'm still mentioning it. Also I'm back from my meeting, sup guys
Welcome to Fast Anime: How It Used To Be.
its not until op is clannaids and titgul in every categorye
what blows my mind is that dgg gave clannad 10 and after story only 9 i think he misclicked because his eyes were covered in tears
objectional truth, meh.
Either a show is or it isn't a genre, that's how genres works. Genres contains check lists, fit the criteria and you're in. Whether you like it or watch it for that genre is a different thing entirely and is what's called having an opinion of something. You didn't like it for the comedy and don't think of it as a comedy, sure, no problem, but that doesn't make it not a comedy.
I don't view the genre personally as a comedy, I'm not saying you can't think of it as a comedy anime, and I know even if I did that wouldn't halt your unreasonable sense of self-importance in-regards to your opinion.
You don't view the genre as a comedy? Well done. I assume you meant that you don't view Clannad as a comedy. Already explained that part above so nothing more to say here.
But hey that's just my opinion~ And It's obvious you're going to reply with "lol no its an objectional fact" or something as silly as that, but like many of your thoughts I can't say I care.
A genre is a genre, genres have check lists. If we didn't have a clear definition for what a genre was and wasn't then there would be no reason to have genres in the first place.
In regards to when I was saying that what I said wasn't the opposite of the point I was previously making, now that I have more than 5 minutes to form a response. Where as what you're doing is hiding that information, I'm just not giving it as much attention, but I'm still mentioning it.
Okay first off about me "hiding the information". I wasn't talking about any shows in specific, which was the point, so since I'm not talking about any specific shows (which by itself excuses me from using genres at all) but just kind of shows, I mingle them together as "super brutal murder" shows to get the point across that they are brutal murder shows that aren't comedies and within the context of the post (that I gave an analysis for to make it even clearer for you) it all makes sense and everyone that read it all understands what I meant. Now for what you said. Clannad absolutely has a huge focus on comedy, it has characters dedicated to humor in the show that pops up all the time and forces the main character as well as the other support characters to crack jokes. Every other character in the show cracks jokes all the time as well. The show is CHOCK FULL of comedy constantly and saying it isn't a comedy is simply how you feel about the show, and means you're ignoring half of it. Clannad After Story - Starts off relatively (8/10 material, but far from perfect) uninteresting, unfunny and undramatic for the first 8 episodes or so before moving onto a heavy tear inducing romantic drama. Bad start deducts a point.
finally watched ttgl gurren-hen, like 2.5 years after watching the series good stuff 9/10 will watch lagann-hen tomorrow

Anypoop, I'm bored with you so I'm gonna go watch youtube videos now.
Maybe it's worth checking out TTGL again, but I just remember being so underwhelmed by it
Personally, i loved it. I thought it was excellent.
Oh hey look a blatantly predictable response by dgg. Good to know you're as easy to read as a childrens book. Anypoop, I'm bored with you so I'm gonna go watch youtube videos now.
I don't normally side with dgg here but you are literally wrong. Sure, you can say 'Clannad is not a comedy', but that doesn't stop it from being true. If I say 2+2 = 5, that doesn't mean 2+2 is actually 5. It's still 4, no matter what I call it.
Oh hey look a blatantly predictable response by dgg. Good to know you're as easy to read as a childrens book. Anypoop, I'm bored with you so I'm gonna go watch youtube videos now.
I never really resort to this, but when I read that all I could think of was this: (Orkel, I googled it up, it's a self thought out image macro)
It's still an image macro
Self-made image macros are allowed.
It's still an image macro [I]Your argument has attained the rank of: TEN-YEAR-OLDS ON THE INTERNET.
I wanted to be included. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Screenshot_118.png[/t] [sub][sub]So I spent the last 20 years setting up rainmeter.[/sub][/sub] I liked the Robotics;Notes episode. [sp]I wonder if Nae will give off any hints as to what happened to the Steins;Gate crew though. She did mention how she liked people like Aki for gathering people to help build and research, sort of giving a hint towards them.[/sp] (User was banned for this post ("Untagged spoilers" - Orkel))

I'm indifferent about the show. [sp]I just felt like they were never going to 'escape'. It was a pretty fucked up show too. It took me a long time to finish it.[/sp] Updated my theme and changed my rainmeter. Now it's time to change my icons.
what rainmeter theme are you guys using?
I'll keep my opinion to myself then, I just think image replies are dumb if they're not relevant to the thread
It's relevant to his post. His post is in this thread. That makes it relevant to the thread.
Okay, lemme say that a different way If an image reply isn't clever or witty in some way (e.g. if you had replied with a Clannad image macro), you might as well just type it
How would I type my image? It's the meaningof the image not the text that applies. He left like a child by bailing out of the discussion with a "Hah, I knew you would say that, now I'm bored with you, kthxbye". He activated his get out of jail free card.
Maybe it's worth checking out TTGL again, but I just remember being so underwhelmed by it
I just remember it being really dumb.
Though the mature thing would have been to just stop
Yupp, I know. I still couldn't resist. [editline]1st December 2012[/editline]
I just remember it being really dumb.
You've got to enjoy the parody and over-the-top aspect of it to like it. If you take it too seriously or the humor just doesn't hit you, then it's just a bad show.
You've got to enjoy the parody and over-the-top aspect of it to like it. If you take it too seriously or the humor just doesn't hit you, then it's just a bad show.
I like Super Robot anime but I just couldn't get into it. I don't mind something being silly, but TTGL just made me feel dumb watching it. Also had awful mech design. But that's just my opinion.
I like Super Robot anime but I just couldn't get into it.
I hate them. That's why I liked it.
I hate them. That's why I liked it.
Now it all makes sense
I don't get the fucking appeal of Mech animes. Some dude i know (Huge weaboo:Japanese speaking level, fucking loves mechs, touchy feely). keeps pressuring me to watch Evangelion and TTGL. Why are Mechs so, famous? In Japan.
I don't get the fucking appeal of Mech animes. I dont have a super mech weaboo friend but I will never understand the hype of mechs.
Now it all makes sense
Lots of people that like mecha anime loves TTGL as well though. But take that show seriously or as a tribute and not mockery of the mecha genre, then, well, then you don't get it. But of course, in it's mockery it's also a tribute, the show is basically made-up of mecha references as far as I've heard.
Hmm, maybe my expectations were just too high from all the praise it gets Should I continue with Kaiji or retry TTGL first?
Continue with Kaiji and retry TTGL afterwards?
I don't get the fucking appeal of Mech animes.
you can skip TTGL if you want, but I think Eva is worth watching at least once.
... You disliked TTGL but liked EVA? Oh man. [sub][sub]polar opposite here[/sub][/sub]
Die_Hard, explain this nonsense to us. Why do you like the things we don't like?
Mainly just because it was one of the first true genres in anime and adults with nostaliga past it onto their kids and yadda yadda yadda, and the fact people love big ass robots blowing shit up aka like with the first true super robot show Mazinger Z 1972 version 2009 version In fact the reason I love the mecha genre so much is because it's what got me into anime in the first place, and since all mecha shows also revolve around scifi too
... You disliked TTGL but liked EVA? Oh man.
I also like Bokurano for the same reason I like Eva, it takes the genre in a different direction.
Shinsekai Yori episode 10 gave me 50% sheer confusion and 50% pure amazement [sp]Poor Shun ;~;[/sp]
