I don't know about you, but there are plenty of rednecks here in Florida, once I was just going to my Grandpa's house which is on the other side of town, I saw multiple billboards that were anti-evolution and anti-abortion. Though yeah, when I went to Georgia (or Alabama, I can't remember it clearly) there were about 40 anti-abortion signs I saw.
The world hates America because most Americans have no concept of the world outside of America. Too many people here have been indoctrinated to believe we're the best nation. And what's worse is that these people are raising their children under the same beliefs.
Well, it began cool enough in everyone's eyes, but then there was that whole brief imperialism thing, then those wars, then that col war era ass fucking and puppeteering it gave every nation it could, complete with assassinations, vote fraud, military invasions, etc. Once that whole business died down, there's the whole imperialism-lite going on. Y'know, cultural and economic imperialism. Shove our corporations into other countries, disregard their culture, use and abuse their people and their shitty laws to benefit us. Fuck around with their politics using money, now and then invade to secure the goods. Make every other nation's life shit while we brag about us being number one, then deny anyone else access and create a culture of xenophobia and racism that shuns the very cultures and peoples we rely on to survive in our glorious state of multi-television high-speed internet gaming console supercomputer owning ocean-to-ocean land of suburs, white picket fences and 2.5 kids with a dog (except, of course, those cities with those lazy disgusting welfare leeching poor people, filthy stealing black people, and evil job stealing immigrants).
And then we come to the fact that we are literally the only first world nation that has a fundamentalist and socially conservative party influencing things majorly. Only one. Progress is not something they do. And because we own all the foreign companies, because we have our corporations in their country, because we are the source for jobs overseas, when we fuck up (mostly because of the conservatives), they fuck up.
So basically
*Imperialism and force conquest of lands belonging to natives. Confinement and social subjugation of them.
*Imperialism of territories and puppet states- notably the Philippines, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Sandwhich Islands, and Hawaii.
*Involvement in WWI and invading Russia to oppose the would-be-winners of their civil war.
*Involvement in WWII and the puppetization and de-culturalization of Japan, as well as the limitation of German politics and economics.
*Opposition in every way to the major political and economic forces in the east- China and Russia.
*Xenophobic, racist, homophobic, and sexist culture developed in opposition to the godless communist ideology in the 50s that still forms the ideal for today's conservatives.
*Assassinations (hundreds, if not over 1000, between 1950 and 1990. Continue even today), coups (Known attempts are roughly 50), emplacement of military bases and presence (150+), invasion (Cold War invasions by the US add up to about 7 or 8, depending on what you consider an invasion) and puppeteering of multiple nations.
*Imperialism-lite, through corporate invasion of economically weak nations with large labor forces. (Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, India, China)
*Exportation of American ideals, culture, and technology into economically weak nations and close allies, in large part due to imperialism-lite (Taiwan, India, Japan, Germany, UK)
*Long and continued history of aggression towards Middle East nations.
*Ideological opposition to most African nations, and continued political opposition to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, China, South America, and Southeast Asia.
*Anti-immigrant, yet pro-American.
*Anti-progress.
*Personal gain-oriented international politics and military involvement.
That's really about it.

But I still think it was a good idea for the Libyan Rebels to get the aid of the NATO forces (specifically US and French Forces)
Kinda Poetic. Two countries with their own revolutions both lending their hands towards the Rebels of Libya to help out with their revolution.
It's the good kind of teamwork when it's not really "America getting in business" But just countries actually working together to help one another out of a problem(s), that makes me feel warm inside. Not to be an American, but to be a human.

It was acceptable when it was the prevention of civilian harm.
It was intervention and nose-sicking when it became aiding one side.
It will be no different than any other imperialist-lite conquest when the whole thing is over and America milks Libyan politics and economics for its own gain.

I've been noticing people seem to be a lot more greatful towards America in East Europe compared to West Europe, I might have a guess why. Anyways, the US is widely criticized in almost all News outlets spanning from ABC to Zimbabwe National TV, the US can not escape the media. So, in conclusion, the US is in a Damned if you do, Damned if you don't type position that makes everyone pissed off at us.
