Sword and shield, much easier to bull-rush people then attack from behind cover. I'm not exactly good at dodging attacks at my feet, though, so I usually go with a tower shield, if possible.

Though two-handed works pretty well, too. The sheer size of the weapon can frighten people into not attacking, which then gives you a ton of opportunities.

Well, I would say one handed, but one of my arms is basically crippled to a shield would be nice for protection.

Kind of like killing people with toast is Crysis 2.
As much as I'd love to use a large battleaxe, I wouldn't be able to handle it. I went with one-handed, something quick but not too short.

In the real world I'd use a spear then have a morning star or something to that effect as a backup or close range weapon.
Shield and a mace/warhammer. I would then hide behind the shield whilst trying to batter the shit out of anyone attacking me. I'd also imagine it would be easier to cause serious damage to someone with a hammer without training than a sword.
If we are going to be talking about fantasy then just my 2 fists. I mean Im use to them so yea those and if we are automatically going to be badass with them.
I done alot with a spear and im pretty good with one too since its such a great long ranged weapon and is very deadly if you know how to properly attack with it, how ever my second choice may be ether 2 axes or swords as my emergancy weapons since there both mobile and have a nifty speed in combat.
