Hey. You could kill your enemies with blunt trauma. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] Anyway, I choose dagger. I'm skilled with light weaponry.
A shield blow to the throat = easy kill. The Spartans used their shields as weapons as well.
Unarmed with metal vambraces for blocks. Fight like a man
Halberd + Forearm Mounted Shield [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
Unarmed with metal vambraces for blocks. Fight like a man
Fuck you I'm a pussy
Unarmed with metal vambraces for blocks. Fight like a man
Because melee weapons aren't manly? You're saying fight with your fists, but guards to take damage? You're contradicting yourself in how you define man. Take of the vambs, then it'll fit under your imposed description of manliness.
I have a thing for 2 handed axes.
Chained morning stars are very hard to use.
Meant that type. Also I'm basing this of what real people would wear, heavy metal armor gets crushed and will kill someone when hit with a mace, if you're unarmored a hit will crush and kill people. Spears of course are one of the ultimate weapons of course, very little training required to wield effectively and deadly due to long range and deadly damage caused. Also if you're riding a horse a spear will pierce armor.
If your enemy is experienced at all in using a sword for example, he can practically go "around" your spear tip right inside your defence and you are almost defenseless.
:smug: In all serious, he could, but thats where my legs come in. I distance my myself where possible and then make a quick swipe. I could always equip a shield with it, but, I like wielding weapons two handed where possible as it makes easy handling and allows for quick strikes. [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] Or he could grab my spear and knock it off my hand if one or two of his hands were free. :saddowns: [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] Well, Flamberge is always a nice alternative If we're talking modern day, I'd set it on fire for extra effect.
That's one thing I never liked about some two-handed swords; they often have the front guard to extend the handle. Zwëihänders fixed this by giving already a longer handle. That means a zweihander is HUGE, but man, no front guard = bigger cutting zone. Swinging a greatsword around doesn't give an enemy a big hole to attack from. Especially if you use momential striking. That's fast, hard to block and even if someone blocks a fully powered greatsword his shield arm will take some serious fatigue on it.
One-handed shortsword. Gives me room to throw explosives.
One-handed shortsword. Gives me room to throw explosives.
Explosives =/= melee unless you're a black scottish cyclops.
The usual swordsman. A normal one-handed sword and a shield. Or go Viking with a huge warhammer.
Believe it or not the 'vikings' (Btw each of the Scandinavian did different things, some raided England, some Northern Europe etc...) The Vikings preferred the Sword, Spear and Axe to Hammers.
Believe it or not the 'vikings' (Btw each of the Scandinavian did different things, some raided England, some Northern Europe etc...) The Vikings preferred the Sword, Spear and Axe to Hammers.
This is true. You see, the thing vikings actually liked was all the mess splitting a man in half caused. All the blood splattered on your face and shit. Next enemy you took eyes on would start running like hell when you hold the warm piece of his buddy's corpse.
Actually most were Farmers raiding for necessity, of course they loved fighting but it was not the real reason why they raided.
Actually most were Farmers raiding for necessity, of course they loved fighting but it was not the real reason why they raided.
They were also great traders. Figures it might be odd that some barbarians from the north burn, maim and plunder a farm next door. Then they knock on your door and try to exchange the dead farmer's cows for your wheat. Well, maybe not exactly like that but they traded stolen english goods with english people.
One handed axe please.
Also Brought English Slaves from the middle east (as you know, there was quite a large slave trade in Northern Europe thanks to the Barbary Pirates for over 1500 years on which that isn't taught in schools)
A morningstar.
Morningstar. 'Nuff said.
I'd propably use the war hammer. I'm not talking about some 220 lbs fantasy bullshit sledge, but thing at 0:14.
Small knives all the way.
a long ass steel bar

Katana.
They're extremely effective and you can always carry that as a secondary weapon as of their small size.
I would imagine they would hard to pull out of the victim though, not to mention the fact that they're only effective when used an up-down movement, meaning that they're predictable.
A greatsword. I'm probably not strong enough to swing one without breaking my shoulder though.
Fuck, I voted one handed.
Top hat, pencil, sweets, damn it.
Where are shovels on the list?
Actually, a long ass staff with a blade on each end.
Probably either a rapier or katana.
