Not really a smell but that brassy taste when your tongue touches something metal.
As for the smell, 100-something year old Queenslander homes. Only true blue Aussies would know that awesome smell.

Are you referring to cigarette smoke, or just smoke in general? I tend to like the smell that I get when someone walks in right after having a cigarette, or the smell on my fingers a couple of hours after smoking one, but the taste is a completely different story.

The smoke of someone's grill when they're having a bbq. I had my window open a couple days ago when the smell of smoked meat entered through. It was mouth watering.

Actually the reason for this is because moister increases your ability to smell, so this smell which is almost universally loved is actually just the smells that are usually ignored by your brain. Quite disturbingly this is also why bathrooms have a tendency to have strong odors the air has more moisture.
