I will say this about it. Straight Out of Compton was nominated for best original screenplay, non of the actors were invited to attend the show, neither was the Producer, or any members of the NWA, just 2 of the white writers even though the whole movie is based around the lives of the 5 black members. Meanwhile there are a bunch of people invited that aren't connected to anything that is nominated.

I still think Shutter Island is his best, but all this is just subjective anyway. He never needed an award to be one hell of an entertaining actor.
i mean if you actually payed attention to what rock was saying instead of zoning him out you could figure out how big of an issue it is

There was an update by the academy later saying it's not their fault, they just give the tickets to the nominees and the movie studios, then it just says more about the industry.
