We don't have signatures because garry chose not to have the form support them. He chose not to because he, like many other users here, feel that sigs are fucking stupid and pointless and do nothing but spam up everything and take up space. If you have a problem with facepunch not having sigs, well then go somewhere else because it will never have sigs.

I don't mind signatures. We could do Newgrounds style signatures, where they can only be 600 pixels wide and 50 pixels tall. That wouldn't be very intrusive at all. And every forum with signatures has a feature that allows each user to turn them off.

We should have them! I mean, they're like the most bad-ass things ever! Nobody gives a shit about signatures, so what's the point of having one?

If a community does signatures right, they can actually add to the website. What with gorgeously done artwork signatures. But in my experience, this doesn't happen often and usually only with small forum communities. Not one as deranged and fucked up as we are here at Facepunch. Controls are nice on signatures, and can limit the bullshit sized images and page-long signatures of one character-lines but they still don't stop what I call the "faggotory" that most here on a forum like FP have done before. Advertising, linking, [url=http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=15569397&postcount=12]this[/url], and so on. They waste bandwidth.

All they do is get in the way, especially when the same user has multiple posts. It's basically shitposting added onto the enf of every normal post. The 'personal touch' to your post is your avatar, just resize your sig pics and put it there instead.
