I was so hyped for a new Alien vs predator game and what did i got this pice of shit right here.

That game be so much better if they removed the stupid fucking marine campaign which took up a majority of the game
More focus on the actual characters we give a shit about and that game would be amazing
Company of Heroes 2
I was hoping so much that this game would be good, and then it just ended up not meeting my expectations at all
metro 2033
all the characters are bland and forced down into your throat
especially uncle bourbon
You talkin shit about Uncle Bourbon?

I don't know how they got it so wrong. By all accounts it should have been really good, CoH on the Eastern Front. But what I got was a Soviet decadence simulator that seemed ridiculously Hollywood for my tastes. In the bad way.

Maybe it'll be a bit more fun when a mod gets released that increases weapon damage, but for now, I'd rather play Men of War or the original CoH
I love skyrim but holy shit does it take so many mods to actually get enjoyable, I mean
http://www.tesgeneral.com/
take this as an example, there's a whole site with detailed guides on what mods you should use to make the game less shit, not a pastebin or anything, a whole site needed just to rescue that wreck of a game. It's like they expect the fanbase to just deal with it and fix it themselves.
That's my point really. That's why I pretty much went on a year-long hiatus before going back to playing the game.

AvP has always been more about the marines, they always had the longest campaign.
The thing is, the marine campaign starts amazingly well, the opening levels are great and atmospheric. Then it goes rather bland.
Pokemon XY, in the previous games you had all kinds of stuff to do, shit like beauty contests and the Battle Frontier and a bunch of legendaries, but in Gen VI you have... the Battle Institute and Battle Maison, which are both fueled by cheating, and a boring-ass runner
I was disappointed with Red Orchestra 2 but only because my internet connection started to suck when I bought it and I honestly couldn't play it.
Just recently I came back to it and rising storm and holy fucking shit it's like someone took PTSD, Video Games and pure awesomeness in a blender and RO2 is what came out.

rushed and ruined by EA
I really enjoyed it, but god damn it it could've so much, SO MUCH better. Fuck Ea.
Although the idea still exists. Merc Inc. which is essentially a multiplayer reboot of mercenaries is being developed by one of EA's studios (sadly) consisting largely of what used to be Pandemic. Although there's one thing to remember, EA doesn't mistreat question marks, referencing to the BCG matrix. The moment something drifts into being a star, it's gonna get milked and thrown away, or turned into a cash cow. Seeing how Mercenaries 2 most likely got a dog, Merc inc. ir probably a question mark.
My greatest disappointment in gaming?
Inflation of development costs, mostly due to higher perceived expectations of graphics, and subsequent broadening of potential buyers, resulting in the lowest common denominator shit we're seeing loads nowadays. Jesus Christ, you don't have to spend dozens of millions in the graphics department just so you would squeeze out a few more droplets of stunning visuals, tons of people gladly settle for shittier graphics for improved smoothness of gameplay via video settings, these same people would much prefer you making more specialized, cheaper-to-develop games.

If they're calling it AvP they should stick to AvP, not Aliens vs Predator vs dipshits, we already have enough FPS's, I want Alien action

Screw that, I think Colonial Marines are a big part of AvP. One of the reasons the movies sucked so damn much is because they didn't have Colonial Marines.
Resident Evil 5
It's still a decent game, but it was a huge letdown after the god-tiered Resident Evil 4. The forced co-op, heavy action, and poor level design really brought it down.
I wish I could say I didn't allow myself to get hyped for Resi 6, but....

It's not even playable on PSN anymore. You need to be connected to online to play even the single player and EA ended up shutting down its servers.
Activision getting their grubby paws on Crash Bandicoot. They can go eat a dick.
Dear Esther - to put it simply it wasn't a game.
Diablo 3
Dante's Inferno. I got really hyped, read the original book, read up on the lore and the source material, but the game fell flat in the second half. Like, really flat
Max Payne 3.
A sequel in name only because Dan Houser really wanted to make 'Man on Fire'. None of the old characters return and the story so far is only vaguely aluded to as if it's embarassed to be part of the series. Max himself lacks all his previous likeable traits (like his sardonic attitude) and his 'noir' narration is missing its wit and poeticness. In fact, Max's involvement in the plot of this game is its biggest plot hole.
The shooting is still fun, and I still replay it just to enjoy the engine. When I do replay it though, I find myself stuck at the level selection screen trying to decide which level has the least amount of intrusive cutscenes so the fun doesn't grind to a screeching halt every 3 minutes.
I know alot of people really liked this game, but it really killed me to see what is probably my favourite series get treated so badly by people who just didn't seem to give a shit.
Missing his sardonic attitude and wit? Hell no, you're forgetting lines such as ""I had a hole in my second favorite drinking arm" and "I felt like the avenging angel. I looked like a fat bald dude with a bad temper."
Red Faction: Guerrilla was a pretty solid game, all in all. My main complaint is that it isn't about guerrilla warfare in the slightest - your friggin' commander flat-out tells you that direct attacks are suicide, but the entire game seems to have forgotten that notion. By the end of the game, you're storming Mount Vogel and mowing down enemy soldiers by the hundreds, which is the exact opposite of guerrilla tactics. Believe me, I've tried being stealthy, but whenever I kill a patrolling guard with one swing of my sledgehammer, the alert level rises, causing an entire squad car of soldiers to come hurtling through the nearest wall. They definitely didn't put any thought into the stealth at all, which is a disappointment, especially after trying Metro: Last Light and seeing how fun stealth can be when done properly.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a waste of money, in my opinion. Sure, when it was released, it practically redefined the genre, but when I tried it two years after release, I just couldn't get immersed in it. The 1,000+ characters are all bland and uninteresting, the incredibly dull dungeons have no treasure at all until you're a Level 253 Wizard-Janitor, the enemies keep respawning even after I've carefully maimed them to death, and worst of all, Kvatch is never fucking rebuilt. When I've put over twenty hours into a game and still haven't gleamed even a trace of wonder or awe from it, it's not worth my time.
Fallout: New Vegas was extremely fun, but the environments were shitty. The Strip, in particular, was a massive disappointment: there's gates every twenty feet, there's a grand total of twelve people or so, and only three bland casinos that kick you out when you win too much. If Bethesda ditched Gamebryo and its bastard child, the Creation Engine, the next Fallout game would be massively improved. There seems to be a problem with locations that are touted to hold hundreds of people, but have maybe twenty characters in total, like Primm and Novac. The Vaults seem to have this problem too, as none of them ever seem big enough to hold a thousand people, despite the fact that I've explored the entire place and cleaned it of all the loot available. Make some collapsed passages or something, I don't care - just make an illusion, and I'll buy it.
CoJ: The Cartel.
Every single racing game with the world's most shitty car physics. Cars don't go on rails, some can actually spin out if you're not careful in turns and when you take off in real life.
And on that point, Gran Turismo 5
The game series lost it's sense of a "Racing Simulator", and that felt that they should spend their time getting patents with Supercar (Ferrari, Lambo, etc.)makers for a more dumb-downed audience. It should have been spent revamping a great number of actual race cars that had a influential point of racing itself, rather then leaving them PS2 grade.
It also had a terrible driving experience, corning and high speeds while driving were very under-whelming. The sounds were barely enjoyable even form the cockpit. Photo-mode was the only thing I enjoyed, but you were limited to 132(?) cars to photoshoot with out of the potential 1000.
God this thread is just fucking depressing.
I was actually about to post Gran Turismo 5. I like Gran Turismos but it literally just felt like an expanded version of its Prologue. A Gran Turismo that plays like 4/5 but with the simplicity of 3 would be the best. I think 4 was a lot better than 3 in advancement but holy fuck shit as simple as that clustered menu really killed it. Only problem with 3 was lack of cars and tracks compared to the others. Hell, over half of the Mistubishi catalogue were just variants of Lancers.
People complain about Race Cars with different liveries and call them a lazy filler or something along those lines. It actually creates more of class racing effect, or like you're actually driving in a Grid Race.
If you look at Forza and GT, they all lack FIA GT , GT500, and Group C race cars and the potential of a real up-to-date racing game is wasted on NFS on a race track theme of general boring Supercars.
Alan Wake - Not very scary, feels real clunky to play.
Excuse me?
Are you possibly cussing Alan Wake?
Im more disappointed in the DLC, alot of Arbitrary stuff in it.
I didn't like Alan Wake either
The gameplay was absolute tedium

Speaking of missing groups Need for Speed has been getting terrible with that in the latest 3-4 games. Every car is either an exotic sports car or an expensive luxury car. The most fun I had with NFS was fun Underground 2 where I used the Peugeot 106 for over half the game and managed to win every race, or when I finished Underground with just a 206, now I don't even get the option to supe up a small car.
F.3.A.R.: An exact copy and paste of Crap of Duty and zero story or explanation.
Hitman: Blood Money: Do not get me wrong, it is addictive and fun to play and has a ton of great features but the levels are insanely small and scripted, it was way, way too easy to achieve Silent Assassin rank and the difficulty was too easy. However it is still a fun game to mess around in.
You mean all the people who died? Or who Max killed? :v:
I guess I didn't mean 'return' so much as I meant they weren't acknowledged.
If they'd bothered to include dream sequences there could've been all kinds of clever callbacks to connect it with series story.
It didn't feel anything like the same universe to me, it was missing that Sam Lake spark that keeps me playing through the originals over and over.
Hitman Absolution: After blood money, i was expecting for some similar/better. But they decide
to change the gameplay and the motive of the main character for the story didn't really fit with his personality.

Are you serious? Max's classic traits were definitely still there, just not as a comic book. Man, this was my GOTY last year. The gameplay was so fucking satisfying.
Command and Conquer games after 3, including 3's expansion which had crayola mechs!

i mean kane's wrath was an expansion that added GIANT TANKS!! and not much else except for a few nice scrin upgrades but the scrin was completely ignored in the campaign
