I read the first chapter of gakkou gurashi after watching the first episode of the anime and I think that the way the anime was done is better so I think I will leave the manga alone for now. I think that they put a lot more thought into how it was presented than the original author.
the mangaka is actually the scriptwriter for the anime so.
i agree that the anime's first episode had more impact, but the manga's really worth reading imo.
Well I am just basing it off the first chapter/episode so I dunno. I just think the anime is better so far
the mangaka is actually the scriptwriter for the anime so.
That makes sense, maybe he thought back on the story so far and improved it. Well either way, I may read the manga after the series is done, or if I'm not happy with the series' progression. I just don't want to get potential spoilers from the manga if I like the way that the anime is going better. It reminds me of the occasional one-shot that i've read before reading the full manga where they changed things from one to the other and I liked the one-shot's premise more. One thing I can think of is Mx0, I read the one-shot before starting on the manga, and when I started reading the manga I found that I didn't like it nearly as much as the one-shot, things were changed in ways that I didn't like. I've since learned to not read one-shots if there is a full manga afterwards so that doesn't happen again. It could be though that I like the manga a lot better for gurashi, like with shokugeki I wanted to know what happens next in the anime, so I went to read the manga and I just kept reading and reading until i was completely caught up with the latest chapter, and now I am not so interested in watching the anime. Maybe the same would happen with gurashi, but I want to give the anime a chance based off of the first chapter and first episode.
sorry but the manga chapter is much better due to not being dragged out to fuck
Yeah, but in the anime version [sp]we start out with best girl being with the group right away[/sp] so it balances out. Also [sp]actually having her converse with her fake/dead classmates[/sp] is a nice touch.
sorry but the manga chapter is much better due to not being dragged out to fuck
sure if you already know what is going to happen in the manga then the show could be a bit long, but not if you didn't know like me.
Speaking of gakkou gurashi. Assuming this is true that would be really neat. Contains some slight spoilers if you don't know the premise of the show. http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2015/07/11/japanese-fan-discovers-interesting-fact-about-school-live-uniforms
sorry but the manga chapter is much better due to not being dragged out to fuck
What did you want them to do, reveal it at the 12 minute mark then have them stand around awkwardly for 10 minutes
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WSfqR3p.jpg[/t] That's supposed to be a spray bottle? I thought it was a fucking cap and you would have to turn the bottle upside down to get the liquid out but then it just started going PSHT PSHT
there's a small spray nozzle and you squeeze it to get stuff to come out
can we please not talk about reddit's waifu taste for 20 pages again?
they have true patrician waifu taste the one true waifu isn't even on there [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] i guess this is the second place competition
can we please not talk about reddit's waifu taste for 20 pages again?
They've got some really good ones in the running tho.
I just realized that One Piece has an HD version on CR that you have to separately choose from the SD version. I've been watching the SD version thinking there wasn't a higher quality to be seen, and only just now noticed it was an entirely separate video stream for HD rather than just the quality selection under the video after 118 episodes...

http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2015/07/11/japanese-fan-discovers-interesting-fact-about-school-live-uniforms
For me it just looks like a coincidence. Maybe they just have different uniforms because of different year?
That's what the ribbon represents, though. Miki is explicitly younger than all of them, too. Also, Yuki's the only one who doesn't have her shirt tucked in.
Having read what's been translated of the GATE manga, I still think it's very fun and avoids being very dumb but still has a pervasive smell of Japanese nationalism and imperialism. (Manga spoilers) [sp]The whole thing where they own the American, Russian and Chinese special forces all at once screams Japanese military jingoism and them wanting to move into an area in the fantasy world while setting up unfair deals to extract strategic resources (oil) reeks of modern imperialism.[/sp]
I don't get people's problems with that scene,it's a fucking three-way clusterfuck joined in by an immortal demigod how do you suppose those guys to NOT get BTFO
I don't get people's problems with that scene,it's a fucking three-way clusterfuck joined in by an immortal demigod how do you suppose those guys to NOT get BTFO
More GATE manga spoilers [sp]It was the way it was presented before Rori got down with the whole "Us Nipponese are owning you inferior Gaijins" while the US guys are "Oh no! How are these Japs so good?!" I know that they had the home advantage but come on?[/sp]

man, idgaf what anyone says, i think that GATE (at least the manga) is very entertaining. When I read a story I don't care so much about how powerful nation #1 that in this case is labeled "Japan," is vs. Nation B that is labeled "China," or "USA," it is all fiction, I don't see how it degrades the story like some people make it out to be doing. When an alien movie is made in america, the aliens invade america, when a "alien" manga is made in japan, the aliens invade japan, that isn't the point of the story.
So I watched Gakkou Gurashi [sp]While I did know about the zombies, hell, that was the first thing I ever heard about it anyway, the bait and switch was quite well-done. Is the MC literally insane though? Those are some hardcore delusions.[/sp]
Shimoneta.
Thank you, I'm going to watch the first episode.
My only issue with Gate is how JSDF are presented as the only good guys who do no bad things.
My only issue with Gate is how JSDF are presented as the only good guys who do no bad things.
What kind of bad things are you expecting here? As far as the manga goes, there hasn't really been any situation where they should've done anything bad except for [sp]maybe ignoring kidnapped civillians when rescuing them pose a possible risk to diplomatic relations[/sp]. Even then, they're the ones that can curbstomp the empire so there's no reason for them suck up to them of all people.
if anyone wants a happy piece of fun every week, here you go
So I watched Gakkou Gurashi [sp]Is the MC literally insane though? Those are some hardcore delusions.[/sp]
I'm gonna go with a definite yes, considering [sp] she closed a window with broken glass to keep out the breeze[/sp]
Gakkou Gurashi chapter 35 haha, silly me [sp]thought there was actually gonna be some healing that's real fucking subtle though[/sp]
Read "Takahashi-San is Listening". It's amazing but nobody's mentioning it anywhere. About an idol who becomes addicted to eavesdropping on the conversations of these two guys in her class. The shading feels very CGI. [editline]12th July 2015[/editline] And I don't mean the clearly CG Aragami, I mean the human characters.
I don't think I've ever rewatched a pilot episode on the same day it aired. Gakkou Gurashi was a million times more entertaining when you know what's up and you're looking.
So what, kind of like Seki-kun?
Seems to have a similar setup and I've seen a few people comparing the two. I definitely need to watch/read seki-kun though. It seems neat. [editline]12th July 2015[/editline]
I don't think I've ever rewatched a pilot episode on the same day it aired. I noticed it then quickly forgot about it until the big reveal. I was honestly expecting it to be something like "The dog doesn't exist and she's just dreaming".[/sp]
Watched Takashi Miike's live action adaptation of As the God's Will, goofy cg aside it was okay. definitely enjoyed it more than Lessons of Evil.
