I didn't realize your taste in anime was this bad. :vs:
Every generic trope ever with the poorest and blandest execution where every joke is put on it's own pedestal for people to admire whilst being pointed out by the characters or le-funny-reaction-faces. Then it also does the generic understanding-people motivational shit where the main character understands the good in people and make them realize things about themselves and yay friends and understanding.
Really great.
I'm not exactly watching it because I expect it to be a genre masterpiece of deep and elaborate characterization and plot.If it's funny and entertaining then that's good enough for me.
Dunno what else to say other than "okay".

If by high end of a 7 you mean the low end of a 5, sure.
now that depends, what rating scale are we using, what defines an 8 on this scale and what is a 6
If you give every anime 10/10 the creators will send you nice letters
I quite liked Yona. It wasn't fantastic, but it was interesting enough to make me want a second season. Easily a seven.
now that depends, what rating scale are we using, what defines an 8 on this scale and what is a 6
8 is great and recommendable. 6 is watchable and is sort of enjoyable at times.
If you give every anime 10/10 the creators will send you nice letters
if you rate dog & scissors 10/10, the creators will send you an envelope with the words "you liar" written inside

All of them
and feature women who aren't completely incompetent.

Still a seven then. If you didn't like it then okay.
Why don't you tell us what your favourite airing show is so we can point and laugh.
[editline]17th July 2015[/editline]
aoharu has a reverse trap protagonist that's an automatic two point rise regardless of the rest of the show's quality
I thought Akatsuki no yona was really mediocre
It's not that it was mediocre, it's that it was butting heads with G-Reco and World Trigger for who could have the most absurdly fucked pacing.

So what are some great animes that have only recently started?
I just can't bother to start watching an anime with over 400 or so episodes.
So what are some great animes that have only recently started?

the grand majority of animes are 12 or 13 episodes long
the current season has only been going for like 2-3 weeks now so most animes that are currently airing have only 2 or 3 episodes out
akagami no shirayukihime, gate and overlord have had promising starts though

you're actually just plain wrong :toadleave:
I'm free to mention Sugar Apple Fairy Tale again!
Just watched the first episode of God Eater. Man does it look pretty.
But what the fuck is going on? The pacing is super fast and they skip like 50 scenes but then slow down for ones that are seemingly less important, like random emphasis on shit. This feels so mediocre.
All of them

I assume this is a joke, but what? most shoujo are in highschool

You can thank the yurifags for that.
Not to offend respectable citizens who happen to be into yuri.

Knew that something is wrong.
I will still pick up Game of laplace.
In all seriousness the way highschool is portrayed in anime is rather fantasy. The student council runs the entire school, there's either no bullying or bullying so bad that it makes child soldiers apear to have easier lives. There are many unrealisticly perfect people, there's a few idols and models in each class . So on and so forth. It've never seen a shoujo with a realistic view on a realistic modern setting.

Anime high schools are pretty much identical wonderlands
I wonder what Garlickeh has to say from first hand experience

So you want an anime where noone falls in love or haves fun, because they spend all their time studying.
So you want an anime where noone falls in love or haves fun, because they spend all their time studying.
or being a lazy sack of shit and playing video games and watching japanimé
now that's something I can self insert into :ok:
I also find it amusing that in anime the japanese portray black people (and often white people) as these huge towering Goliaths.
I also find it amusing that in anime the japanese portray black people (and often white people) as these huge towering Goliaths.
well, isn't the average height in japan a lot lower?
finally decided to continue Ranpo Kitan after finishing watching a bunch of other episodes
the show is filled with such great quotes as "I WANTED TO BE HIS CHAIR!"
what a fucking bizarre show.
I also find it amusing that in anime the japanese portray black people (and often white people) as these huge towering Goliaths.
Not just in anime. Japanese television has several black guys that make appearances in variety shows, like Bob Sapp and Bobby Ologun. Most of them are giant pro-wrestlers, the Japanese seem to have a thing for the "huge black guy that acts a bit dumb" stereotype
nothing like some good old racism
