Considering the standard romance is restricted to the high school setting in anime as far as romance anime goes, the "and then they get married" came as a slight surprise not knowing anything about the show.
Which is exactly why people should watch it. It's a selling point, not a "oh my god, you totally ruined the story for me" thing. It's a romcom, it doesn't have a plot in that sense. When I want to watch a romcom anime the most important thing to me nowadays is "do they even get together" because if they don't, fuck that show. I don't want to guess or hope that they end up together, they damn fucking better should get together and act like human fucking beings.
do there even exist romance anime where the characters don't fuck around for 20 episodes and finally start getting the relationship going in the last few episodes? Besides Rec.
Golden Time comes to mind.
Golden Time comes to mind.
The only thing I know about Golden Time is that it has a very entertaining ghost and TADA BANRI

this music dose nothing but tortures you and then dives you to the brink of insanity, throws you into the deepest parts of hell
hopefully JoJo Part 4 can arrive and redeem the series it's among my top 3 with Steel Ball Run and Battle Tendency
How would they animate it? The way my friend described it to me was that it's good but all they do is run around since they [sp]already solved some mystery[/sp] and overall the stands are more weird than the other series. He said that it's practically a jojo slice of life

I was bored so I decided to look up the age of consent in japan. Its 13. This explains a lot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_Asia Been watching Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. So far I like it a lot. I have a feeling that pound for pound this is truly gonna be a top tier anime. I love it when a show is relatively short. Its lovely when a show has a clear goal and strives to achieve it and then gets a proper ending. Certainly better then bleach syndrome.

While the age of consent might be lower I can't see many people exploiting it below the age of 16 or 17. This seems like a bad topic to be on.
More UBW spoilers: [sp]That's what I mean. Assassin makes a point that he never really existed but is rather the "idea" of Sasaki Kojiro - a swordsman that was the rival of Musashi - and that he was inferior because of it. I wasn't sure how that differed from the myths of Heracles and the story of Medea unless Heracle and Medea actually existed in the Nasu-verse as historical figures, especially since Type-Moon is happy to have alternate versions of legends and myths.[/sp]
the mechanics of the nasuverse get a little convoluted here but I'll try and explain. [sp]The heroic spirits with a few exceptions are summoned from the Throne of Heroes, a concept where legendary souls are removed from the cycle of reincarnation and essentially 'saved' as data. Assassin is an improper servant summoned by another servant, something the system doesn't account for. Therefor he is actually a wraith, a spirit with no legend that happened to fit the legend of Sasaki Kojiro, someone who never existed within the throne of heroes, he's one of the exceptions to the rule of being summoned from the throne of heroes. So basically, while the heroes from greek legend might not have existed as they're displayed as servants, somehow they have souls recorded on the throne of heroes whith which to be summoned, while the world doe snot acknowledge Sasaki Kojiro as a real heroic spirit.[/sp] Hopefully this makes sense.
Hmm? I could swear on me mum that was you but then again I am an idiot and I have been mistaken before. My bad.
I believe it was Jabberwocky.

[editline]d[/editline] maybe you should add the bit where it says all prefectures have an age of consent of 18
it's probably wise not to go down this road of discussion because it rarely ends well. I finished koufuku graffiti, was pretty good, I think shaft can and have done better but it restores some of my faith in them. Has there been any word on whether there'll be any continuation for it?
Did learning that suddenly make you want to move to Japan?
TBH learning that kept me neutral really. Don't really care all that much from a political perspective. However it explains the comparatively large presence of lolis and other such things partially.
"Between 1990 and 2002 the Netherlands operated what was in effect an age of consent of 12, subject to qualifications." This explains a lot. [editline]d[/editline] maybe you should add the bit where it says all prefectures have an age of consent of 18
Touché. Yeah I suppose I should have added that bit. Anyway it seems that people think we shouldn't really dwell on this topic and thinking of it I shouldn't have brought it up. Its not really gonna lead to anywhere good.
That being said I still think that the "solution" you suggested of making it a 70 episode long combined route is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.
I suppose I should remark here since I think you're referring to me. I was thinking of an adaptation along the lines of (gosh, there's no way to really say what the spoiler is from without kinda spoilering it) Higurashi no Naku Koro ni where the seemingly different and unrelated arcs are revealed to be connected in a significant way. There's no way to learn everything from one arc but through subsequent arcs one eventually gets a full picture of what's going on. I don't think it's unlike Fate/Stay Night where one has to go through all the arcs to get everything.

You could try really hard to make it work. Buuut 70/26=2.69. AKA at this point you might as well just depict all 3 routes starting with fate and cutting the fat (tatami galaxy style) with each deja vu moment. That and as I said earlier some events are harder to bring to light as certain characters only have good reason to reveal specific traits at specific moments. This becomes problematic when those specific moments often ends up being the act of killing another character. But I am still massively behind on UBW so I have no right to talk too much about it.

God Orkel...your fucking avatar is scaring me. :(
Oh, you read both Umineko and Chiru?
Well yeah because its fucking great. Heck I even watched the (excellent) 8 hour explanation theory video by this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHMta4YbjSM Contains HEAVY spoilers for fucking obvious reasons. Its one of the few books that has elevated an entire GENRE to new levels of enjoyment for me and changed the way I view at the entire murder mystery genre. Instead of passively reading I actively try and solve the story myself and distinguish between what can be interpreted as statements that must be absolutely true and stuff that is unknown/questionable. The puzzle in episode 7 was absolutely amazing as well. Me and my brother decided to solve it without using any of the clues (technically we used some to confirm if our line of reasoning was considered valid at some point to save time). Its a puzzle that forces you to apply everything that has been learned so far in the book which is fucking brilliant. It could only have been made better if it had unlocked a new game+ in the story that reread the entire book in the same vein as the puzzle in episode 7. As it is right now I would love to reread and solve everything by myself but the fantasy portions make the book too fat. But eh I just remembered this is the anime thread. So is the umineko anime any good?
Koufuku graffiti was shit tho.
the comic was okayish but the anime is pretty much Akiyuki Shinbo being Akiyuki Shinbo aka SHAFT the anime but without a plot.
I think read that the age 13 for consent is a federal type thing. Individual parts of japan often set up higher legal ages. It's a little creepy the way that cute young girls are sexualised though. Even though I love Ore monogatari (get ready for the dumbest jack-anime opinion in a while) it does worry me that Yamato is extremely childlike, whilst Takeo is not only a lot larger than her, but is often looked at as much older and sometimes confused for her dad.
