once knew a person who went to sakuracon, never saw them again [editline]2nd July 2015[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/dB1zOH5.jpeg[/t] money well spent
are you 17
Well, at least he's not twelve *ducks for cover* Don't worry gnome. He just thinks you're young because you're so kawaii
are you 17
he's clearly 15
is that a five year old
Is he even human?
Well he posts here, so no.
Know what is worse than the debate of Ninja Gnome? Me having to live with this title on FP forever. :(
Underwater subbed the first ep of Gangsta.
Underwater subbed the first ep of Gangsta.
You seem hyped for Gangsta but I know nothing of it. Please give me a one way ticket for the hype train.
i read some of the manga a while back it starts off great by balancing a dark, super serious world with silliness, especially from the 2 main character guys, but after a while it starts getting very serious, at least until the point i stopped reading if you don't mind some ~edgy~ stuff and ~dark, mysterious pasts~ then i'd say go for it
has anyone here been to a con before? This is going to be my first one and I'm not really sure what to expect, sorta getting nervous just thinking about it
I go to a lot, going to Nekocon, Geekycon, Otakon, sometimes a few others. What do you want to know about any of them?
what about other types of merch? also ill probably just check to see if its cheaper to buy whatever fig from amiami, shipping included
Unless signed by someone important, generally everything is marked up at least 150-200%. The smaller cons(fucking love nekocon in my area), you can find hidden gems, but larger cons like Otakon is full of a lot of generic stuff. Also, bring prepaid cards or cash only to cons. You will save yourself tons of money that way, most vendors if you really want something will hold the item if you throw down some cash because you want to go back to the hotel for the rest. /cgl/ is really a bunch of fun to meet up with as well.
Something was wrong. I started an episode of Haruhi like normal, expecting the same thing again like always. However, this time [sp]Kyon complained about his homework not being done, and the next day came.[/sp] I finally finished all of the Endless Eight.
has anyone here been to a con before? This is going to be my first one and I'm not really sure what to expect, sorta getting nervous just thinking about it
I went to AFA in Indonesia 2 years ago (I don't know if you guys count it as a con) Its much more better than I expected, oh and they have a VERY good artist line up for the concert
Does Gintama ever get any better? I'm like 5 eps in and this cultural gap is just way too big.
Does Gintama ever get any better? I'm like 5 eps in and this cultural gap is just way too big.
You gotta last until the twenty episode mark. Until then the episodes are pretty boring though.
Does Gintama ever get any better? I'm like 5 eps in and this cultural gap is just way too big.
gintama takes a while to get going, but once it hits ~20 or 23 it takes off. You should really watch it in small bites, I marathoned it in a month and liked it a lot. Not sure I would recommend anyone else doing that, but it was a hell of a ride [editline]2nd July 2015[/editline] I wish I could relive gintama for the first time, shit was amazing
has anyone here been to a con before? This is going to be my first one and I'm not really sure what to expect, sorta getting nervous just thinking about it
Yeah I have, just once. Expect probably everything to be expensive as hell when normally they're cheaper elsewhere. I haven't been to a anime con, it was my city's annualcomic-con thing, so I imagine things might be different at a anime one. Or not.
a bit late again due to aereus' unexpected schedule changes, boku girl ch68 LiveTL is here! in this week's chapter, [sp]a muscleman in full-body latex, stealth, new female characters (including a hot punk girl) and crucifixion[/sp] ch69 is going to be LiveTL'd tomorrow already, i'll post it when it's done again
Does Gintama ever get any better? I'm like 5 eps in and this cultural gap is just way too big.
it's not joshiraku levels of japanese cultural references, most of the references are games or anime
Gangsta is kinda alright. But I wish it was directed by Yasuomi Umetsu.
Gangsta is kinda alright. But I wish it was directed by Yasuomi Umetsu.
Why? I looked at the shows he worked on and i'm confused as to why you would want that.
what about other types of merch? also ill probably just check to see if its cheaper to buy whatever fig from amiami, shipping included

1. don't buy figs and shit cos they're marked up as fuck and are for suckers 2. expect to see/meet turbo nerds
They're overpriced, but with me any money I set aside for a con I consider vacation money, and that's money that's pretty much gone so if I see a fig I really want and I have a lot of extra cash then I usually buy it. Either way tho, it's usually better to just buy artwork and stuff and ask the artists to sign them. That's usually the only merch I get. My first con I brought like 600 dollars thinking I was gonna spend a lot, and then the next one I only brought 250 including ticket price and food so it's up to you how much you actually wanna spend. Housings free for otakon and katsudon cuz my friend lives up there
i would rather not support the business practice of stupid mark ups tbh also you could you know like buy stuff at decent prices and get more for your money!!
Gangsta was pretty good, giving me a slight black lagoon vibe, and there's nothing wrong with that.
As if figures arent expensive enough for anyone outside of japan. Lets pay even more for them at cons!
As if figures arent expensive enough for anyone outside of japan. Lets pay even more for them at cons!
Tired of overpaying for shitty nendoroids? why not overpay even more for shitty nendoroids!
For cons I just always look at how much the shit costs online compared to what the vendor is selling at. If it's a negligable difference of a few bucks then I usually will buy it. However, I ain't paying 75 bucks for a TTGL core drill replica
Why? I looked at the shows he worked on and i'm confused as to why you would want that.
He's John Woo of anime. His action scenes are the most coolest I've seen.
For cons I just always look at how much the shit costs online compared to what the vendor is selling at.
this i've avoided some bad deals and found some pretty good deals by doing this
