That's actually a bug because the light is moved under the floor causing luigi's shadow to float. It's a result of careless direction.

One day I was mowing my yard. Job was almost done, but there was a chair blocking me for the last part. I could not move it with my hands because if I let go the lever, the mower stops (which is bad because it’s old and it’s really a bitch to restart). So I tried to kick the chair. It wasn’t moving. I tried to kick harder. Suddenly, I slip a bit and my feet went under the mower. The blade cut the nose of my shoe and a really small bit of my big toe. It sure hurt, but it wasn’t that bad. It mostly crept the shit out of me. And to tell I usually mow with my feets naked, except for that one particular time.
Since then, I’m forever scared of freakin’ mowers.

Truth be told, I found about these books about a year ago, and that was only because of some sentence mixing I was creating with the audio versions. The stories are really cheesy, but some of those illustrations will never leave my mind.
