They're still rather buggy. They can be nigh impossible hit sometimes and they will sometimes hit you much faster and more often than they should be able to as well ass spawning in places they shouldn't such as the sky above a well-lit area.

It can be but in my experience hosting a server, more people are actually interested in building cool shit with friends rather than the survival portion. With survival you quickly run out of things to do and any large projects quickly get tedious due to having to search for rare materials. A build server tends to keep peoples' attention much longer since they can just spawn the materials and work together on some pretty awesome projects.
I've had no problems before maybe the server owner fucked something up
that's more or less what my servers have been. i've had mosy fatte / sgt jerky / shknbk / azure / vet_jasper on them, and we just build stuff

This happened to me on my own server. I'm pretty sure I can't have high ping when the client and server are running from the same system. (With no noticeable lag at all.)
