Well you can still go into your display properties through Windows and crank the res up. Sometimes you can set it to your native res, sometimes you can't.

It'll only let me set it to 1280x800 out of 1600x900.
Also, my second monitor will be recognized once drivers are in order I presume?
Usually my 5870 behaves in a similar way, it will go up to 1600x900 without drivers. Then I can set it to 1920x1080 once everything is set up. My 4870 did that too.
And of course Aero generally will not work without the necessary drivers.

Aero is the name for the GUI itself in Win Vista / 7. But yeah, it has the glass like effect if you have all of the visual settings turned up.
You can shut UAC off by going to the control panel, selecting user accounts and then changing the user account control settings. Or you can open up a cmd prompt as an administrator and type in:
Net user administrator /active:yes
which will turn on the admin account, and you can then log out and access it it.

I prefer using the actual administrator account. it doesn't really make a difference, but whatever.

Mmmm there's room for improvement. But the Sandy Bridge CPUs are the way to go if you've got the money...so that's a start. I can try and set something up later.
