Intimidate has been far more useful for me, though I play as a Dragonborn, so I get a bonus for that right off the bat.

The bear gives +1 to all defenses to anyone standing next to it, it has a +6 bonus to attack which I can buff to +8, 1d12+6 damage for a basic melee attack, and I can make it come back to life as many times as I have healing surges(10 at the moment). Add in Beast Empathy, which gives me +2 to Bluff and Intimidate against animals and the ability to "speak" to them, and I pretty much handle everything that isn't supernatural or oozy.

I don't like druids that much. Unless you give a shit bout real role-play and goes for the powergaming, RPing them is pretty much like paladins: you have strict ways of behavior. Druids are a little bit more flexible, but still. I have like 4 sheet scattered or saved somewhere, one including a level 40 test character fighter/bard/captain/legend with a giant version of that monster that eat spiders, that he used as a pet/steed
