X11 tunnel a powerpoint presentation or something from home. Better yet do the whole presentation from home using remote access tools.
That would be pretty cool, but I am not sure if I can do that. My school's computers are pretty locked down. I suppose I could just bring in one of my computers, hook it up, then do it.
But WHY?! It doesn't make sense!
I don't know.. I... I just don't know.
Me: How fast is your cpu? Him: 64 GIGAHERTZ! :smug: Me: :gbsmith:
Me: How fast is your cpu? Him: 64 GIGAHERTZ! :smug: Me: :gbsmith:
Could have been an easy mistake or fuck up in their brain at the moment. Or hell maybe he thought you meant was it 32 bit or 64 bit.
My neighbor just gave me a computer that he doesn't use that comes with Windows XP pro on it, and he bought and loaded windows ME on it. What the fuck.
Maybe he writes contrived questions for Microsoft Exam prep books. "Your client is dual booting XP and Windows 98. Explain to him the difference between FAT32 and NTFS" :downs:
I was able to convence a person at school that Google is run by a large ball of RAM which is powered at Google HQ. Also I got a friend to freak out when I used OllyDBG to switch the go button with the refresh button :v: [editline]12:31AM[/editline] on iexplorer
Haha that is just epic Gbps, come chill with me over here
srsly why do people prefer IE in front of FF or chrome?
My lecturer for graphics refuses to acknowledge that a 500x500 image with a dpi of 72 is no more efficient for web than a 500x500 image with a dpi of 5000, and it pisses me off.
My friend told me to check his PC because it was "broken". I come to his house and he has fridge magnets all over his fucking tower and monitor....
My friend said that the only way to get a decent computer is to pay £800. Even I know that is poppycock.
I think me means a "Top of the line!" rig. My PC cost about that and sometimes I think I'm watching live videos when playing ARMAII As for the PC mac argument. The thing i don't like about macs is that they are like faceless, emotionless, automata churned out by the industry overlord. You buy it and use it according to how they see the world. With a PC that you've built yourself you almost get a feel for it's personality. You know all the ins and outs of it's insides, you know just how well it copes with what. You even know what noises it makes when it's boots up and you and it seem to grow together. You almost feel sad that the computer that was with you when you were slaying hordes of demons on Mars and was rocking with you and Duke Nukem needs replacing. You do a complete rebuild because you have to and not because you want to. With a MAC you buy it and that's it after a year or two the new one is out and people cast the old one aside like it was a used tissue because the new "Shiny plaything" is out and you "need" to buy it when in actual fact the one you were just using was fine and there is no real reason to move on to the new one. Plus what other device allows you to command legions of loyal soldiers, fight off aliens in an Orwellian dytopia, go thundering across the plains of a fantasy world and party with one of the most badass players in history?
srsly why do people prefer IE in front of FF or chrome?
Because IE is Microsoft so it's better for surfing Microsoft and if you use anything else Bill gates will send you a virus and stop Microsoft from working on your computer :downs:
on the "macs never crash" argument
^ I got a kernel panic once for using the mosaic screensaver mode with more than 300 photos at max settings (100 rows at maximum speed)

My dad tells me to stop downloading viruses. They infect your PC, you don't download them. This is why I'm switching to Ubuntu.
"Oh and you MUST to have internet connection to view other people's IP addresses, you can't do it without an internet connection... I have a solid... [looks at taskbar icon] ...'good'... connection" [looking at "http://"] "Dot Dot, Slash Slash..." "Mah-zilla" ...can anyone else tell just from the tone of his voice, the terminology [lack thereof], and the popping of his p's and b's against the speaker, that it's a 12 year old fat kid leaning WAY too close to a desktop microphone? I can't keep watching past 2 minutes on either of them, it hurts.
"tracer t" "10 people using google" "*looks at rising pings* really good" Fucking moron kid :downs:
Why would he refuse to tell his CPU in the first place? :raise:
Well he works for $5 an hour (lol) and he probably already knew his laptop was shithouse.
A friend of mine phoned me 3:00 AM, panicking, and screaming that his email was hacked because he received 17 emails from the "government of USA" ordering him to register on certain site with his credit card and other confidential information. I suppressed my anger and tried to tell him that they were only spam, and is nothing serious, but he kept on screaming shit like "omg dude its from government.com and theyre gonna arrest me if i don't listen to them" and shit like that for nearly a hour. I finally gave up, and hang up on him. He thought my phoneline was cut by the "US government", and kept on flooding me with phone calls nevertheless, so I unplugged my phone modem and went back to bed. I facepunched him the next day
Pure win. Nothing agaist Mac's here, but "macs don't get viruses" is pure bullshit.
oh god i love this thread, it's such a perfect mix between rage and lols computer illiterate people who think that they know things 4 life :3:
I had a fellow classmate who tried to inform me that Vista is good. This wouldn't be too bad but we were studying IT at the time. Now I have nothing against Windows however, Vista or as another of my class mates dubbed it Vishit, runs like a dog. My classmate later informed me that Vista was great for running Games when pressed as to the types of games that run really well on Vista he informed the class that solitaire had never had an issue. This classmate needless to say never finished the course.
I feel sorry for anyone with a stupid IT teacher. My IT teacher can fix almost any problem with his eyes closed.
I don't have any stores of idiots but I am about to start a tafe course on network administration so I'm kinda hoping to encounter some arrogantly-stupid people there. There's always one right?
Chrome gives you everything you need to sail the oceans of the internet. Firefox gives you the tools to sail the oceans of the internet. (Downloadable addons ect.) Internet explorer gives you a life preserver and says good luck.
Actually IE gives you a boat with more holes than actual hull, locks the life preservers in a box with lead weights, throws them into the ocean and then says good luck.
My IT teacher is a useless pile of wrinkles. Everyone in his lesson goes onto the schools internal chat system and sends funny pictures to each-other. We like to spout out things about how servers are run and confuse him for about 10 min or so.
Try REG QUERY HKLM /s and take a picture of their faces. Preferably do COLOR 0A before that, and say you hacked the matrix...
:smug:

Not to mention that before W7 was released you didn't really have much choice if you needed x64. Though it definitely takes up too much RAM.
