Oh yeah, I forgot the COLOR command. But since my Command prompt is set to default to that colour, I don't think it's a big deal.
Vista is good, as long as you have a PC capable of running it fine (lots of RAM) and SP1 installed. Not to mention that before W7 was released you didn't really have much choice if you needed x64.
Though it definitely takes up too much RAM.
You don't need INSANE amounts of RAM, 2 GB will do just fine. Almost.
What I can't wrap my head around is all the people who say that Windows 7 is SOOO MUCH BETAR than Vista. I mean, they're almost the same OS. Hell, they've got the same version number!
I say W7 is to Vista what 98 was to 95. A big, well-needed update.
Some kid at my school says his Uncle (or some other random family member) works for Microsoft, therefore he can get a $10,000 gaming computer (with idiotic things like "it has 1TB RAM"), for free. No, he isn't mistaking HDD space for RAM, he actually tells me that he has 1TB of RAM.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently working for a company that doesn't make internal hardware will get you cheap internal hardware?
I want to smack him. Alot. With a brick(s).
I was at his house once or twice, and his computer isn't at all what he says it is (Well obviously :| ). Apparently this $10,000 gaming computer is at his cabin or his dad's house or some bullshit.
I just can't seem to understand why people lie about shit like that, even when it's so god damn OBVIOUS that they're lying.
I got into a arguement that soon involved something being thrown with my parents. They wanted to know how to install this program on a mac while there is a GIANT window open that says "Drag and drop to desktop and open" on it.
They don't even know how to close programs correctly on windows, they think ctrl+alt+del and force stopping iexplorer doesn't equal closed. :byodood:

for good reason... or, stupid reason, depending.

The installation of a new operating system can be a daunting challenge. Facing many updates, possible driver and security issues, only a computer expert should attempt such task. Our highly trained Agents can install, configure, update and optimize your computer to perform to its fullest.

Is...
Is that a... Laptop?
Oh yeah, it is, just saw the filename...
My parents blame me for getting viruses because I use Firefox, yet they say that IE is safe. They tell me not to install Firefox....I can install if I want. They say to use Google Chrome; I don't really like it.
They also say that dualbooting Ubuntu and Windows is bad. Keep in mind that they are not very literate with computers. Firefox is ages better than IE. Ubuntu is better than Windows, as in, it's less vulnerable. They don't know what dualbooting is. I get pissed at them for saying such things.

I'm so gonna fucking take my 9400 GT and install it in my Dell Latitude D531 when I get an HD5570
My grandma seems to think that because she took a class on how to use Windows Power Point, she's infinitely smarter and better at computers than I am. Truth of the matter is that she can't even figure out how to put a CD into the computer, or turn up the volume on her computer. She keeps antagonizing me about it too.
My mom claims that my games are the reason to why our PC is laggy right after start, not due to it being 5 years old, and having shit specs.
As much as I hate mac fanboys, I also hate PC fanboys, who think PCs are always infinitely better than macs and can't accept that some people like OSX and all of the apple developed software more than the windows software designed by many, many people. This coming from someone using a macbook pro that his dad bought for him.

1x Agree
Nice.
is there one thread involving computers that doesn't have mac bashing..?
i have nothing to contribute, sorry.
hey guize im making a batch file that makes it look like i am hacking the school computer, i will run it and i will record the teachers and the students reactions it will be hilarious and i will go to jail forever because i "hacked" fbi. but i need thelp with a input, i want it to traceroute the input and when it's finished it runs the reg query hklm /s command, this is how it looks
@echo off
echo Please input the IP or Adress to the site you wish to hack
tracert %1 < i think this is the line i should use but do i have to have anything on the previous line?
:hack
reg query hklm /s
goto hack
the traceroute part is only for effects. That is obvious, but i just make that clear so nobody thinks im illiterate and is like "IMMA HACK FBI WITH MY 1337 BATCH HAX"

Add a colour 02 in there for an extra effect.

but will it work in it's current state? (im writing this command on a mac so i cant test it)
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -- Mahatma Gandhi
The problem is, that Apple isn't much better than their fanbase, just look at their "PC vs Mac" commercials.
If you meant the actual Macs (the machines) then I agree, there is nothing really wrong with them (overpriced, but that's Apple's fault).
which campus?????
if it's blacktown the only computer illiterate teacher their is annette.
I'm going to Quirindi for it. I don't suppose if you know if there are any idiotic teachers there do you?
but will it work in it's current state? (im writing this command on a mac so i cant test it)
It will not.
@echo off
COLOR 0A
:select
SET /P lolhax=Please input the ip address you wish to hack:
ECHO.
SET /P YN=you have chosen %lolhax%. Is this correct? (Y/N)
IF %YN%==N GOTO select
:loop
REG QUERY HKU /s
GOTO loop
Notice that I've used HKU (HKEY_USER) instead of LOCAL_MACHINE. If you do this, you will get a shorter listing, and at a few places, the prompt will list a key as an ERROR and give a beep from the internal speaker. This is probably because a few of the keys are reset on restart and does not have a value.
Very h4xxy. For extra effect, go into full-screen command prompt first and start this file from there. If you don't know how to do that, you shouldn't be asking for this.
[editline]Immature bastards[/editline]
Found an even better way of doing it:
@ECHO off
CLS
COLOR 0A
ECHO.
ECHO EXperimental BatcHax Utility v 1.337
ECHO.
ECHO Hacking %1...
ECHO.
TRACERT %1
ECHO.
:loop
REG QUERY HKU /s
GOTO loop
Start through cmd with the IP of your choice as a parameter.
x = msgbox("The IP you entered was DDoS'ed",5+36,"IP hacker pro 0.1")
save as: message.vbs
But how do I "attach" it to the bat file.
x = msgbox("The IP you entered was DDoS'ed",5+36,"IP hacker pro 0.1")

START message.vbs.
Either that, or, if you just want one file, do this:
ECHO x = msgbox("The IP you entered was DDoS'ed",5+36,"IP hacker pro 0.1")>>message.vbs
START message.vbs
lol visual basic scripts in notepad, I do that at school all of the time
lol=msgbox("DIS COMPUTARE HAS VIRUS! PLS TYPE PASWORD THEN NO VURS!",48,"VIRUS!")
lol=inputbox.... etc.
