one time, a very long time ago, my friend called and said he couldn't install a program it said he didn't have enough memory, so he deleted all his icons from the desktop to free up memory.
When people think computer=CPU. Them: How much did your CPU cost? Me: Around 300$ Them: Wow, why was it so cheap? Mine cost 1200$ *I'm puzzled as to why a CPU would cost so much* *Then it finally hits me* Me: Did you mean computer? Them: Yeah, duh, what else could I be talking about? Me: *sigh*
I got a new computer for Christmas, and it has decent specs, besides the graphics card. My brother gives me one, but since we had to go back to Texas, he couldn't install it. My cousins fiancee is really good with computers, and lives not too far away from us, and says he'll install it. Instead, my dad wants to take it to Best Buy to have the Geek Squad install it. We still haven't installed the card.
Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus! I checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this E-mail message sent around to all your contacts ASAP. PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS! You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,'regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C drive of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address on his/her contact list. That is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it! If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even if it is sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept. COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US Should I believe this?
If people spent 10 seconds checking snopes for themselves instead of taking the chain email's word for it, these things would never spread. My mom forwarded one of these to me once where it actually contained a link to the snopes article that said it was fake :bang:

http://lifehacker.com/135479/hack-attack-how-to-install-a-pci-card Same idea, different card slot (it will only fit in one slot, shouldn't have to press it in too hard) Afterwards Google the card's model number and the word driver, Nvidia and ATI's driver sites are dead simple to navigate.
One of my friends thinks his 600$ macbook is better than my 4000$ build.
One of my friends thinks his 600$ macbook is better than my 4000$ build.
Haha even a $400 build would be better than a $600 macbook
Haha even a $400 build would be better than a $600 macbook
Damn straight. This may be slightly off, but I tested the performance of my 5 year old IBM computer, and a macbook. Guess who won. Side note: The macbook did the equivalent of a BSOD like 5 times.
haha neo
Did your build cost 4000 bucks? :downs:
alienware :downs:
My friend: Nah, get Alienware, did you see how big those things are? Now me and my other friend look at each other like "oh god no" Then he goes: It's like this and this big (stretching his arms to about the same dimensions of my custom pc) My other friend: I bet I can build a better pc by getting parts off the internet. Also, my first friend said I should get a '4-gig' processor. I look at him like "...um what" and try to correct him like "Do you mean gigaHERTZ?" and he's like "yeah". Naturally I tried to get out of the conversation, luckily I succeeded.
"can i run SRCDS while my PC is off?" made me lol

It'd be awesome to get my i5 to 4ghz though...

My mother seems to think that the Internet is the source of all evils, so she said "You're doing something bad I know it you're talking to strangers", and being completely paranoid she probably thinks I'm gambling over the Internet or "cracking military mainframes with his hacker friends." So one day she tells me she wants access to my computer, to check the web history and the files. You know, the ones I'm gonna take to the grave. So I deleted the web history and hid the evidence on Windows, and made her think I deleted Linux (Which, conveniently, was the one that contained most of the, uh, evidence.) Then she goes "That Linux thing, it's probably a virus never install it again." :suicide:
