That's because both systems are Unix based.
I know that. Also I was working on a presentation for History using open office in Ubuntu. I'm approached by a teacher and told that It wont work when I go to present because Openoffice isn't compatible with Windows. I didn't care for 2 reasons, 1 If I really wanted to I could export it as a PDF which works across all currently used OSes and 2 I was using my Laptop with Linux installed. Not some school provided computer.

It is better not to confuse them with these newfangled things called "logic" and "common sense". Just ignore them until they go away.
Third version of this thread, and this shit still ain't getting old. Ever witness a computer illiterate dumbshit give another computer illiterate his/her computer in an attempt to "fix" it or "speed it up"?
Or even worse, those people who download those "PC Optimiser" programs from GoogleAds at the side of the page. Yesterday I was called to remove one of those "Registry Optimiser" programs (a.k.a. scareware) from my parent's computer. I was tired of constantly having to clean it out every week because they'd done something stupid, so I put linux mint on it and called it a day.
mint is annoying as hell. you might be better off with plain Ubuntu or xubuntu.
this calls for one of those command prompt scripts to write/delete the same little file over and over and over and over... though I bet it might take a few days... or weeks... or months...
You need dd for that, and you cannot destory a hard drive this way without spending a few years.
Don't die on me thread. Content: Today I talked to a guy that says the MS office can only run on macs. Srsly?
Don't die on me thread. Content: Today I talked to a guy that says the MS office can only run on macs. Srsly?
What a fucking idiot. That doesn't even make sense.
You will just make Windows users look as bad as retarded Mac OS X users, for the sake of all of us remove the account.
OK, I'll leave a few posts with the truth then leave. On the talk about virus-like-scripts... I say, make a program that creates folders that don't do shit, but they have content that makes anti-virus (any kind) read them as viruses. Just let it activate, and a few hours later, the person does a random virus scan- BOOM! Three and a half dozen viruses. It's sure to make shit hit the ceiling.
maybe just save a bunch of empty files that have the same name as popular viruses?
maybe just save a bunch of empty files that have the same name as popular viruses?
It didn't work :( W32.Blaster.txt didn't trigger any alerts. :((( I WANTZ ME A VIRUS!
Don't die on me thread. Content: Today I talked to a guy that says the MS office can only run on macs. Srsly?
MS must stand for MacShit and not MicroSoft
MS must stand for MacShit and not MicroSoft
What was even funnier about was he was typing up a document at word at school. All our computers use windows :ohdear:
...that was me.... I meant hard drive....I wrote processor accidently because next to it I wrote the CPU of the laptop...I edited the post and fixed it the same day...i'm not a retard who didnt read the first page of the topic where it says not to mention things like that...dumbass
Dude chill.. I found it quite funny... I thought I had to post it.
Partially Offtop. We've got MacBook's in our school so that we can work and i friggin' hate it. I have a nice sticker that says "iCrap" on it, i'm thinking about buying it out after the school ends (it'll pretty cheap) just to film how i trash it (mmmmm...sledgehammer). Should i do it?
Piss on it.

(real BSoD) •run within windows, and thus cannot have an error window
Mac user: Well, I think I’ll plug in my ipod and load all those photos on before we go to the concert. (He does so)
ipods can hold about 20 camera raw files?, lol that forum is a goldmine of stupidity

I haven't gotten a single BSoD since I got this new computer (Vista). :downs: But I got it a shitload on my last computer. :saddowns: (a shitty computer that was never meant for gaming and was outdated when it was build by at least four years)
