http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=20302713&postcount=11
fuck i need 32 gigs of ram because i'm using windows seven!
Computer Teacher: Macs never get viruses, but recently they've made a deal with the devil. They are now allowing you to run windows on apple computers! So now they're virus-prone! Students: **mumble mumble no one is paying attention mumble** Computer Teacher: And that's why Macs are better. The gist of the 'speech' anyways.
You should have got a cardboard box and put it over his or her head and told him or her that they are very stupid and should not be allowed to learn computers
You should have got a cardboard box and put it over his or her head and told him or her that they are very stupid and should not be allowed to learn computers
I sincerely can't make sense of this post, anyone want to help?
I sincerely can't make sense of this post, anyone want to help?
a paper bag is not big or sturdy enough to hide their shame, so use boxes?
this thread isn't even funny anymore... too much "i H8 MAC!!!" too little actual illiteracy. read thread one for reference on how these threads should look like. and get over the fact that macs exist, we fucking know allready.

Though you have to admit, a good portion of the regular posters in this/the old threads have at least been keeping to real reasons to laugh at, not just plain flaming/trolling about macs. Of course, when the fanboys are so plentiful, you're bound to have some stories to tell. [editline]1:11[/editline] looking back, I'm noticing something- there's been a sudden decrease in the "my friend thinks he has 500 gb of ram lolol" posts. Gotta count for something, I say. [editline]03:51AM[/editline]
MOAR CONTENT NAO
a 4 hour bump? :raise:
being a multiplatform user (mac os, windows,Ps3,360) i've got to say that many of the "OMG MAC OS IZ STUPEED" posts here are very selective and generalizing the worst of the worst. some of them are even more retarded than the people they're trying to gut. it hurts to watch it. just lay off. they're on and on about how they hate windows and know shit. well, i know alot about both, and this thread is full of the same shaky bullshit that theirs are. there's no clue about macs in here man. it's not ownage, it's pathetic. i'd much prefer we kept to the "my friend is stupid because he thinks computers are magic wondermachines" much much more fun and what the point of these threads were. otherwise, let them die and open a "in here we go mac-fanboy on the macs: we demonstrate we're just as dumb about their system as they are about ours" how about that then? this thread is the most illiterate thread of them all IMO. GJ. you sense i'm tired of 19 pages of "i own because he haz mac"?

I'm willing to bet I'm guilty of the hate-tard-ism too, but still. That's the problem with the pack mentality in opinions... People tend to be exposed to the extremes of things, because the five people in a group of a hundred (mac users, politicians, whatever) who have some crazy retarded notions will shout the loudest, because they're the only ones who care to voice the opinion. That idea travels to another group of people, who may very well be getting all their interaction with the first group just by listening to what the loudest conversation is... Really need to inter-mingle brainwaves here. Besides, I need a little hope re-instilled in mac users, I can honestly say the few people I know who swear by macs really are as bad as we've been talking about.
You can't get mad at people for simply not knowing the in's and out's of hardware. When I get into my car I know that you push one pedal to go forward and one pedal to stop, but if I opened my hood th eonly thing I could possibly do is change a battery or add washer fluid. I don't really think I deserve to be called a dumbass about cars by anyone who knows more than me. This entire :iiaca: can be applied to computers as well. Granted, if I ever did pretend to know exactly what a car does and how it works, then the person who strangles me with a dipstick is correct in doing so.
We (or at least I) don't get mad at people that don't know the inner workings of a BIOS, or if they don't know a coding language, but I do get mad when they don't know anything and think they know everything. To put it in a car analogy, it's like if someone said, while pointing at the steering wheel, "That's the engine, I know because my dad works for Ford." and when you say "No, that's the steering wheel..." they say that you don't know anything about cars.
that's my specialty. how awesome was that?... how did you do that? maybe include some of the things we talked about in the next OP to prevent derailing in the future.
I DID put it in the "things people are tired of hearing"... though it's a tough one to avoid.
Blind hatred or fanboyism: "Macfags suck because apple sucks and they think they're better rage rage rage." "PC sucks cuz Mac is better."
but... it was overshadowed by the quote I put up as an example of "stupid, repetitive, or extremely damaging pranks" where I bitched out the retard who rewrote a bunch of peoples' files at school.

My friend was doing a test just now. One of the questions was a multiple choice: If a CPU has a speed of 3 GHz, how many calculations can it do in one second? 3 billion 3 thousand 3 thousand million 3 hundred million He answered "3 billion" and got it wrong. Apparently the right answer is "3 thousand million", even though they are exactly the same thing.
I saw "3 thousand million" and thought that it was just that bad that it had to be the right.
Well, its not really calculations either, dunno what you call them. [editline]01:50PM[/editline]
Every time the internet stops working, for even a few seconds (we have wifi so this happens often) my dad blames me. He believes whatever game I have been playing most recently has decimated our computer. For example, "I think this garry's mod is slowing down the computer!"
if we are to act superior, we must BE supperior. study your opponent. don't just assume.
This is a good idea, I bought a copy of Snow Leopard recently so I could see what all the fuss was about. But I couldn't get it to work in a VM :saddowns:
This is a good idea, I bought a copy of Snow Leopard recently so I could see what all the fuss was about. But I couldn't get it to work in a VM :saddowns:
hehe, the fuss was about a slimmed down version of Leopard. it is what Win 7 is to vista. one big cleanup in aged code all the way back from NT 4. snow leopard shaved some 5 GB of old obsolete code off and brought the system to 64 bit. it's by far the most streamlined system i've ever run. this system is for the guy who's often on the move. 11 seconds of boot on my MBP. in short, it's good news for Mac users. although, support for the old PPC processors have been dropped. (imagine microsoft cutting x86 support). easy and versatile. inb4: "but, it haz no gaems" no, it's not a gamer system, it's a media system. oh, and the reason it doesn't work on VM is because it can't detect the Mac EFI (kinda a Bios, cept it's not). and therefore goes badshit insane "OMG UR NOT MAC!!!" "BEATH THE RUSH! BUY LOOM TODAYE!" yeah sorry, but my sales pitch reminded me of that guy.
I don't see why Apple doesn't let OS X work on other systems. It seems like they would be able to make money selling it just like Windows is sold.
I don't see why Apple doesn't let OS X work on other systems. It seems like they would be able to make money selling it just like Windows is sold.
yeah, it's pretty fail. but it would require an insane bit of work getting all hardware in the world to work on the spot... easier to just make a suite and sell it as is i guess. the difference between Microsoft and Apple is that Microsoft doesn't need to make their own drivers. Apple is FORCED to make their own extentions (drivers) and i have a hard time imagining any company ever wanting to do it for their own hardware themselves. so it would be a lot of hazzle for Apple.
oh, and the reason it doesn't work on VM is because it can't detect the Mac EFI (kinda a Bios, cept it's not). and therefore goes badshit insane "OMG UR NOT MAC!!!"
Actually I've heard of people getting it working in VMWare, it just doesn't work in VirtualBox yet (which I use). I don't want to install VMWare only for OS X because it was terrible the last time I tried it.
MAC's i have very little issue with. Illiterate idiot mac USERS i have a big issue with. I myself have no reason to get a mac, i want to play games and do much of the hardcore stuff you can only do on windows. For about £800 i can get a computer with 3GBDDR3 an HD4850, an I7 920, and a 3TB HD. A MAC with the same power would cost more. (but is probably better at other functions such as audio editing.) But so would a pre built PC. In terms of PC Illiteracy some of my fellow A LEVEL ICT STUDENTS get a few things wrong. Some of them had no idea what a Trojan was and our current topic was threats to ICT systems.
For about £800 i can get a computer with 3GBDDR3 an HD4850, an I7 920, and a 3TB HD.
CPU would be bottlenecked by GPU there.
i think you're refering to those cracked versions of the OS that CAN run on the PC. like OsX86.
It is from OsX86, but the one I found isn't a cracked version (which I wouldn't touch). It's just a bootstrapper loaded into VMWare that allows it to boot and install a retail version of OS X. I bit the bullet and installed VMWare, and managed to get it working:  [editline]03:39PM[/editline] Here's the source if you're interested: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=172474 [editline]03:42PM[/editline] Also proof that it wasn't pirated (not that I'm saying you would accuse me of that, just for the record):
I have a nice gaming PC rig and MacBook. Obviously i love my PC and i "hate" Mac. I'm not going to pull "mac sux 'cos they haz no gaems" card but instead going to tell you WHY i don't like it. 1. Design. Way too slim (ugly looking), white (gets dirty) and made out of cheap plastic. 2. Design flaws. No Mic-In Input, Headphone input glitches, 16:10 monitor (explain later) 3. OS Flaws. (can be fixed by using third party software, sometimes but my point is the standard shiping.) OS doesn't have "Merge folder" function, most programs doesn't support MacOs, shitty "security" thingy, no "Merge Folders" function, you can't see hidden files, isn't shipped with any good photo editing software, no "Merge" function, iMovie (and the rest of iLife, except Pages) suck ass and finally you CAN'T fucking merge folders. 4. Monitor MacBook have 1280x800 resolution (16:10) which is pretty wide, you can live with that on PC BUT on the Mac, some space on the top is reserved for the top bar AND space at the bottor is reserved for the dock. The result is "happy" web browsing. 5. AC Adapter This fucking thing breaks as easy as a paperplane, cost shitload of money and is pretty hard to crack open (to fix it). The things i LIKE with a Mac (OMG i actually DO like something.) 1. Spaces and Exposé Very nice functions, i'd like to have something like that on windows. 2. Keyboard buttons. They are really easy rip off and place on different places. Makes it easier to spell ICRAP or FCK YOU on a keyboard. [editline]11:58PM[/editline] That's my 10$
