Yeah, because it's completely impossible for a computer to have EIGHT GIGABYTES OF RAM!! :O
/sarcasm
Hmm... that sarcasm mark is actually starting to sound like a good idea.
the concept seems to be almost farcical in nature for the service I just ripped that image from- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/6995354/Sarcasm-punctuation-mark-aims-to-put-an-end-to-email-confusion.html
two bucks to install the mark to your computer for use in email... so, if you send the email, do they see it still, or does it come up as that 'unrecognized character' block? :raise:
I don't know.
I'm sure as hell not gonna shell out two bucks to find out.

If it's a font then yeah, nobody without the font would be able to see it.
Apparently, when you buy it you download a program that allows use of it by pressing CTRL + .
I'm guessing it pastes an image of the mark, otherwise people would cause a shitstorm.
Oh yeah, same guy:
Me: Norton sucks.
Friend: No it doesn't it's the best out there!
Me: I find avast! superior.
Friend: Certain Norton programs are better.
Me: Just don't get AVG.
Friend: Yeah that sucks.
At least he has some decency.
i too, prefer avast... it's free. and if it all goes to bollocks, i'd rather spend an hour reformatting than that heap of money anyway.

i need one of those. people always pull the "i was sarcastic" card whenever i'm trying to teach them something. i'm correct in assuming that this could authenticate their sarcasm?
/stupid.

what do you need that much memory for? no game takes up that much memory when it's running :S
Man, one time this dude came up to me and asked how much ram I had, I said that I had 4 gigs and then
he said "Yeah, well I have 8gigs!" Hahahahaha what a fucking moron
It's funny because you hardly need 4.

You can use PC for other things besides gaming, maybe he uses his PC as a server or a render farm

the only thing that i know is memory intensive is gaming and editing HD movies
A few years ago in my highschool i was talking to my friend.
He said his father had bougth a new broudband and it was super fast.
At the time i had a expensiv 10/10.
So i asked:Ok, How fast is it? 10/10 20/20?
He replyed: It is at 1000/1000.
My reaction was only WHAT?
then he said that evrytime he starts his computer he get a pop-up in lower rigth corner saying internet connection of 1TB.
That is your network card jackass
fatty- req's spot on, actually. I've got a bunch of computers set up in a render farm, this one included. It's my primary rig, so I've got it running several copies of 3ds max, rendering on the side, and right now a copy of adobe premiere processing a video. All without a hiccup, unlike my older primary which had 8, and would bog down to a halt for some reason or another when rendering.
This way I have a powerful machine that renders in half the time of the rest of the computers, whilst being able to continue working, which would require two of my old primary computers simultaneously, which obviously would be much less efficient.
...also I can game whilst rendering, which was also a problem when we needed all machines taking care of a job because of time constraints. :buddy:

Something similar happened to me once.
A classmate said he had 100/100, I didn't really believe him because I know that many confuse actual internet speed with the network, and I didn't know him very well so I couldn't know how much he knew about computers.
Turns out he really had 100/100 fiber optics at home.

me: how much ram you got in that mac?
CI: MAC's dont need ram, thats PC shit *takes stick out and turns on*
me: that, wont work
CI: WTF why dosent my mac work anymore?, you broke my mac, youre paying for a new one
me: *puts stick back in and turns on* told you so
Well done, that showed him.
I'm not exactly sure if this counts as computer, or computer game illiteracy.
One time, my brother was showing me a map he made on WC2 (this was before WC3 came out),
and he was showing me how he had put just enough water in between each half side of this wall
in the middle, and the ground south or north of it. It turns out he mistook the ice tile set for the
water tile. I was like "Something doesn't seem right here..." I was like, 12 or something, he was
in his early 20's. He had been playing WC2 for at least two years before I even heard of it.
:downs:
Really guys?
It is just an image that you post.
You guys are really smart
I am not being sarcastic
[editline]03:03PM[/editline]
The 2 dollar fee to get it is sarcasm in itself because the image is posted all over their website.
what the fuck, what a scam
wow that sarcasm thing is good
My life is now complete
though, given the people who can't convey sarcasm at least a little bit while typing... they'll probably need a program to do this, since they probably can't figure this much out on their own.
...it reminds me of the 3DS Max logo-

The first sarcasm mark was actually a curved line, like how you tie two notes together in music. It was a long time ago, used by this one guy in a book, of course. This, however, was then used in the first emotes ever-

About that whole SarcMark business...
Why not use the official sarcasm marker, "¡" ? (that's not an i, it's a temherte slaq, an inversed exclamation mark. see the difference? i¡ ).

Only when you compared them. Otherwise I would assume that it was a typical lowercase I.
yeah, then people would think you're doing a retarded attempt at Apple marketing with the lowercase 'i' in the wrong place :/
works with thicker fonts, though.

I just love how they looked exactly the same when you quoted them :dominic:
Meh, /sarcasm works just fine and people already understand what it means. Plus it blatantly insults the target further by assuming they can't recognize sarcasm on their own.
