Live free or Die Hard They make it seem so easy to hack the government. Plus they had a video with multiple presidents speech's, and people believed it. Plus there was a app on a phone where you could view networks by simply pluging it into your computer.
I never really understood the fear of viruses that illiterates (and sometimes literates) have. Ok you get a virus, so? It's not like it's going to jump out of your screen, kill your dog and rape your cat. Unless you have vital stuff on that PC, but no one I've seen panic for a virus had anything important on the hard disk.
Fuckin' eh. A buddy of mine in my A+ Cert. class got a virus on his home PC, BSOD on boot and whatnot. Ran a few repairs from the Recovery Console, found it was some "SUPER INTERNET ANTIVIRUS SPAMBLOCK 2009" thing that makes you pay for the program to get rid of it. Wouldn't let you open cmd, or task manager, disguised itself as Windows Defender saying "Warning you have X amount of infected files!" and changed the desktop to "WARNING: YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED!" Needless to say we found a way around its shenanigans and deleted it in under 20 minutes, nothing of his was lost.
Theres an app for that!
Theres an app for everything god damnit.
Is there an app for making something that doesn't have an app?
Yeah, it's called the iPhone SDK.
Pepper;20435138']me: how much ram you got in that mac? CI: MAC's dont need ram, thats PC shit *takes stick out and turns on* me: that, wont work CI: WTF why dosent my mac work anymore?, you broke my mac, youre paying for a new one me: *puts stick back in and turns on* told you so
I thought you couldn't replace/remove parts on a mac?
Not without voiding the warranty. (As far as I know) Other than that, they are upgradeable.
I thought you couldn't replace/remove parts on a mac?
If it was a Mac Pro it'd be easy. iMacs, not so much.
Friend: "In gaming, the CPU is overall more important than the GPU and you can run todays game on high settings with any graphic card as long as you have a high-end processor."
Friend: "In gaming, the CPU is overall more important than the GPU and you can run todays game on high settings with any graphic card as long as you have a high-end processor."
Well you can. Its just a matter of how well you can play it. Heck, you could run Crysis at max settings on a 10 year old machine and have it run for 10 seconds.
Friend: "In gaming, the CPU is overall more important than the GPU and you can run todays game on high settings with any graphic card as long as you have a high-end processor."
Somewhat true...most games rely on the CPU to process physics and certain effects. Havok is purely CPU, PhysX is nVidia GPUs (which is why it's not used often). Though you still need a powerful GPU to process the shaders. Of course, your GPU can become bottle necked by a weak CPU, its happened to me with a 6800 XT and a Celeron.

Facebook conversation with my brother. In this instance, I am 'Michael'. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Michael: Lemme explain. Ubuntu is an operating system, like Windows and Mac. I downloaded an .iso file, which is basically an installer to put on a disc. Turning it into a Windows disc, but it's Ubuntu. GRUB is the program used to make stuff run as a dualboot. Used for any system. Windows overwrites GRUB files so now nothing can start. The Ubuntu CD cannot boot. Nothing. -Vince: that's what you get for trying to mess with the os -Michael: Maybe, maybe not. idk -Vince: windows is really good just stick with that -Michael: Yeah, but it's prone to viruses and much slower. Compare the speed of booting up. Ubuntu takes half as much time to boot. -Vince: booting means nothign -Michael: I downloaded next to nothing besdies Steam and a couple of its games. How so? -Vince: all it is is booting stick with windows savce up your money and actually buy lennox if you care that much -Michael: I don't play games as much as I used to. Linux is free ffs -Vince: i'd just stick with windows -Michael: For what reason? -Vince: bc there's nothing wrong with it -Michael: Example: what school stuff do you do on Windows Vista? -Vince: all of it even cad and rhino all off vista -Michael: CAD is modeling, right? -Vince: only reason it runs slow is because there's only a dual processor not a quad yeah -Michael: I doubt the processor depends on speed. -Vince: no it does -Michael: idk -Vince: and so does ram -Michael: RAM doesn't depend on speed. -Vince: yeah it does -Michael: Or other way around -Michael:RAM is storage. -Vince: yeah ut it helps run stuf thus speed -Michael: You ever see game requirements? Like, you need 'x' Gb of RAM? That is used to read memory so the game can run. -Vince: yeah i kno it affects ability of computer to run it -Michael: Yeah. A CPU is the speed, I think. No wait, I think gigahertz is. idk "The Central Processing Unit (CPU) or the processor is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program, and is the primary element carrying out the computer's functions." -Vince: yeah -Michael: Not sure how the speed is calculated. -Vince: no clue -Vince is offline. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then between me and a friend of mine. In this instance, I am 'Michael'. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Andre: hi -Michael: Hi. God damn computer broke again. -Andre: why da hell did u switch 2 Ubuntu? Ubuntu is a server system, it's not meant for gaming -Michael: You're sounding like my parents & my brother. -Andre: cause it's true -Michael: Ubuntu is faster and better than Windows. -Andre: If u want a good system get Windows 7 -Michael: Ubuntu is intended mainly for office use and school use. -Andre: EXACTLY It's not an all around system Linux and Windows are -Michael: Thing is, Ubuntu is free. Windows/Mac aren't free. -Andre: Ever heard of "never take anything free!"? -Michael: Linux = Ubuntu -Andre: Most free shit is bullshit remember that -Michael: ..... How about free music? Works for me. -Andre: well music works on all -Michael Duh. -Andre: but what do u mostly use ur computer for?? -Michael: But that's beside the point. I used to game a lot but I haven't been doing that much. Usually just to surf the web and write. -Andre: well get Windows Or Mac Michael: Why? Mac? Ew. -Andre: Windows is good for everything except graphics -Michael: I have nothing against the Mac, but the users are idiots. -Andre: Mac is specifically for working with editing and/or graphics -Michael: By graphics do you mean gaming or nongaming? -Andre: both and making/edidting movies Mac has like 10 GB of RAM It's the fastest OS -Michael: ...... -Andre: but it's compatibiliy with Windows SUCKS DICK -Michael: Bootcamp -Andre: U can't use anything on mac thats' not made for it what about bootcamP? -Michael: That's bullshit. Bootcamp is a Windows emulator. It lets you use Windows programs. Or you can just dualboot. -Andre: for maC? -Michael: Bootcamp = Windows shit for Mac Look it up. -Andre: oh really? never heard of it........... I might get the latest iMac for college -Michael: Depends on what you're going to college for. -Andre: true ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy. I admit, I don't know much about computers, but I'm obviously the more knowledgeable one. Please feel free to correct me.
-Michael: RAM doesn't depend on speed.
Actually yes it does. RAM speed is measured in megahertz/gigahertz just like CPUs are. Go onto an online retailer like newegg or ebuyer and look at the RAM specifications. You'll see things like "1066mHz"
-Michael: Not sure how the speed is calculated. [for cpus]
It's measured in Gigahertz, though the number of cores and hyperthreading also play a huge part.
Mac has like 10 GB of RAM
whatthefuckamireading.jpg
Ok, thanks for correcting me. And I cracked up when he said Mac has 10Gb of RAM.
whatthefuckamireading.jpg
the big $3200 (minimum price without fancy addons) has only 6 gigs of ram. as mentioned time and time again, I built my $1500 desktop with 12, so 10gb isn't impossible, just... improbable unless they spent another thousand dollars for the premium additions on the mac pro.

"Don't touch my keyboard! You'll mess up all my passwords!" What.... ; Also: "Internet Explorer is the only program that says it's an internet browser that isn't actually a virus. If someone tells you to upgrade to Firefox or Google Chrome, call the police and report them for trying to trick you into downloading a virus." Some people really are stupid enough to make their own information that's based on the stupid parts of their mistakes. "Going to a porn site put a virus on your computer? All porn sites are viruses. Clicking on google answers to the "antivirus" search giving you viruses and spyware? All google links are viruses." Just because the first whole page of links google gives you when you search "World of warcraft quest guide" are virus sites doesn't mean all the things you get from googling something are Mal-ware. (although there's a shit ton of sites that forcefully start uploading Mal-ware to your computer that are answers to googling stuff about World of Warcraft.)
Colbert.
Is it just me, or are woman just more illiterate than men overall?
Oh lawdy some people are illiterate.
I thought you couldn't replace/remove parts on a mac?
Most of them have the memory removable. On the MBP I have the screw for it is under the battery.
Just found this one, illiterate getting caught/taught.
Just found this one, illiterate getting caught/taught.
Just posted, look above you :buddy:
Any computer being sold for under $2,000 is a scam and either isn't built correctly, built with parts outdated by at least ten years, or only the case is real and the insides are either made of styraphoam(spelling) or non existant.
What a dumbass.
What a dumbass.
Who the fuck said this. I need to fucking know right now.
What a dumbass.
Whoever said that needs a punch to the face now.
Is it just me, or are woman just more illiterate than men overall?
Men feel like they are less manly if they can't do technology, so they are MUCH more prone to being idiots. Women are less likely to be knowledgeable about computers, but they are better about keeping it to themselves and they don't think they are right when they are not as much.
