OH GOD... so my friend went on facebook asking for help upgrading the video card on her computer... the computer is an HP Pavilion 533w, which came out in november 2002. BUT, aside from being ancient and any money spent would be better off put into something like an ee pc at least, she apparently wants the upgrade because it no longer works... AFTER SHE INSTALLED WINDOWS 7 ON IT.
here is a list of needs: Can someone help me with getting Corel WordPerfect X5, a Graphics Card that is compatible with a HP Pavilion 533w, and maybe some of my sanity from this horrible upgrade?
(me and friend banter about how it's not worth it, the pav has integrated video on the motherboard and she'd have to replace the motherboard to get that to work, etc) (asks where her good laptop went)
I can run a video card with an itergrated.... i just have to re route the drivers to run of the other video card. I still have the Laptop.... this is my desktop that i have updated and now i need the graphics card for it. Otherwise i have to pull 7 off the computer and downgrade back to xp. then i will have spent 180 dollars on 7 for nothing.
(more people confirming it's a stupid idea to try and upgrade it, get an ee pc, etcetera)
i solved the problem.... hap has drivers that i need to download
me: :raise:
She should download some more ram while she is at it. [editline]08:08PM[/editline] Also: Under this thread. The Crapple I Cap! Now with free overheating!
that's actually a good idea when outside for one reason or another... though yeah, could have at least had an open back for ventilation. :/
I once put my laptop into a bag while it was on, without realising about overheating. I took it out 15 minutes later and nearly dropped it because it was so hot. You could probably fry an egg on it.

I just got another PM from Mitchman He has obviously never heard about Steam.

GFWL is no company, and pc gamers at his comprehension level worries just as much about ping as he worries about... *something awesomely stupid, i guess* :downs:
so... consoles never lag and PC gamers obsess about ping... ...though I'm willing to bet he blames his own bad performance on lag. I wonder if he even makes the connection between ping numbers and those phone signal bars used in console games (like CoD or Halo) to express the latency. :raise:
This is a description of a 250 dollar guide for installing an OS. The installation of a new operating system can be a daunting challenge. Facing many updates, possible driver and security issues, only a computer expert should attempt such task. Our highly trained Agents can install, configure, update and optimize your computer to perform to its fullest. Geeksquad.
Geeksquad had a special "limited time discount service" for the ps3, that mainly consisted of hooking the thing up, connecting it to the internet, installing the updates and fiddling around with your tv's color settings. Cost? C$150

Not illiterate but a friend of mine sucks when it comes to anything hardware related:
I am selling my custom built personal computer because I started building a new one, it runs great- I mainly used it for hardcore gaming and video editing/3d modelling. I am only asking for the price I paid for the parts, I am not including shipping fees that I paid or any building fees. Prices are negotiable, and feel free to make an offer of any part combination. Please make any offers through messaging, and not as comments. Thanks :) I am willing to part with just the basic parts, or some beefer hardware included as well: Core $550 -AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.9GHz (Easily overclockable past 3GHz) -OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) (PC2 6400) Dual Channel -EVGA Geforce 9500 GT -ECS BLACK SERIES GF8200A Motherboard -WD 500GB HD -650W PSU Better $650 -AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.9GHz (Easily overclockable past 3GHz) -OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 8GB (4 x 2GB) (PC2 6400) Dual Channel -EVGA Geforce 9800 GT -ECS BLACK SERIES GF8200A Motherboard -WD 500GB HD -650W PSU Best $850 -AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.9GHz (Easily overclockable past 3GHz) -OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 8GB (4 x 2GB) (PC2 6400) Dual Channel -MSI GTX 260 (Factory overclocked, can be pushed higher) -ECS BLACK SERIES GF8200A Motherboard -WD 1TB HD -650W PSU All pricing models include a free (very plain) computer case. No source sorry.

I'm afraid I might be one of those computer illiterates you guys are talking about, I don't know a huge amount about computers, but people always think I'm right when I'm talking about computers. I never pretend to know something I don't though.
I would buy my weight in chocolate.
You're a heavy man.
I would spend the 300$ on Sub Sandwiches every day for however long it would last. :downs: EDIT: Content; My sister recently asked me how to make cyber money... And use it to buy stuff as if it's credit card credit... What?
