sad that jobs is against flash, most definitely. and when exactly was that incident a while back, where jobs said on stage that macs CAN NOT get viruses, period... then 4chan allegedly had a heyday and within the following 24 hours there were crashes and complaints everywhere?
Is there any video or documentation of this? Would be really fun to read.
I keep hearing about it, but haven't seen any real articles. Could just be ancient 4chan lore :raise:
Of course Jobs is against Flash; Apple wants 100% End-User control, and Platforms that only allow closed-development applications ensure that. If only they weren't so smug about there own small accomplishments, they might foresee their downfall. Of course, Microsoft isn't that better. That's why I prefer Linux. As on the schooling debate that seems to have bloomed, I went to public school all of my life, and they taught us shit. All that's in school today is irrelevant math concepts and propaganda history. In which came the concept of self-teaching and shunning of the current Pennsylvanian Educational Standards. Need it to be said, I graduated with a 4.0+ GPA; But it still hasn't helped me in getting a job.

Hmm, a virus for mac... if you want a SYSTEM32 killing equivalent I'll just have to point you towards EXTENSIONS. a bit of research from here will let you rape a mac, HARD!
I went googling to see if this was actually true by looking for what filesystem Macs use. I came up with this gem:
that's no gem at all. Mac OS uses different versions of (coincidence?) "Mac OS X Journaled/non-Journaled FS" i can't pick sides at the Who's dumber discussion since I'm some neutral guy in between who shakes his heads at everyone because they fail at making each other fail. get my drift?
↑ amen.
Raping a mac (System32 equivalent): rm -rf / (as root or admin) (same as in for linux)
This man speaks the truth. (or boy?)
I always speak the truth, good sir (or ma'am). Given truth has a flexible meaning. (Which it does, apparently.)
I always speak the truth, good sir (or ma'am). Given truth has a flexible meaning. (Which it does, apparently.)
Reminds me of when Colbert got everyone to modify pages on wikipedia, making "rality" a commodity and assaulting elephant-related pages to state they tripled in population all of a sudden. The spam-blocking guy who "blocked stephen colbert" with his self-named anti-spambot was quoted as such:
Yes, that's right. I blocked the defender of truth, Stephen Colbert (or at least an impostor, people are arguing if it was him or not) tonight on Wikipedia. Yes, I am Wikipedia Tawker and yes, I blocked. That "joke" used way too much of my bandwidth, my poor Tawkerbot4 couldn't keep up! In all, we ended up protecting 20 elephant related pages (I'm not listing them all here, I only have so much disk space)
he's not posting a short list of links to 20 wiki pages... because he doesn't have enough disk space? What the fuck, this isn't 1984. ...also, I suggest we move this thread to the hardware section when we make the next version, since fast threads no longer supports postcount increase... and it's a legitimate conversation instead of "wud u sex above avatar?"

My friend shouted out "I HAVE A HOTMAIL!" after reading .html on the blackboard. :hurr:
I've always wondered why it wasn't there in the first place, thirded.
There was actually a computer illiteracy thread there a while back but it died. Though I suppose Windows isn't much better since it only supports FAT and NTFS.
They both suck. Get over it. Apple is much easier to hate because they don't hide the bs they pull. Microsoft just keeps their bs on the down low. You know why OpenGL hasn't been used for big games on the PC for a while despite being generally better then DirectX? Microsoft had a huge smear campaign on it and still does. They pretty much do the same thing that Apple does with Windows saying it is overly complicated, unreliable, LOL MAKES YOU COMPUTER GO BOOM, and other unfounded slander to shake up consumer trust. Don't think Microsoft is any better.
one of my friend said "what graphics is your computer" i said "what?"
Somebody should really make a killer virus for the Mac. And because all Mac users are computer illiterate they will just throw their old computer away instead of doing a good old reformat.

It's like how neither of them support ext3 (a Linux file system). They've never used it, so why should they care?
thread; First few Pages: Content 10 - 34 = MACs MA BOI 35: Content Everything since: MACs
Macs are pretty much canned computer illiteracy.
Well, their userbase tends to be.
At my school today, a teacher was opening Pro Tools 8 (which is a sound mixer for those who don't know), and it was being really slow, because the teachers got crappy old machines. Suddenly one of the girls on front row said:
Maybe it would be finished now if you had a Mac
And then she was real :smug: afterwards. I raged so fucking hard inside my head, but I didn't even bother arguing, because even trying to argue with these people is dumb.
Well, their userbase tends to be.
Stop adding fuel to the fire. NO MORE MAC HATE. please
I seriously think that posting something that could instigate a Mac vs. PC vs. Linux, etc discussion should earn at least a 1 hour ban.
Stop adding fuel to the fire. NO MORE MAC HATE. please
What is this Mac Hate of which you speak? I'm not familiar with it. :buddy:
I seriously think that posting something that could instigate a Mac vs. PC vs. Linux, etc discussion should earn at least a 1 hour ban.
So posting anything would = a ban? You can instigate a fight between OSes too easily.
I'm... I'm at a loss for words... [editline]10:19AM[/editline] Where's my gun, I need to kill something.
Here you go man
Stop adding fuel to the fire. NO MORE MAC HATE. please
I was merely trying to correct a statement regarding illiteracy: Computers themselves are not illiterate, but the users that operate them tend to be. I have nothing against Macs; they are nice computers and work well when you operate them correctly, like any computer. I wasn't trying to instigate another argument.
Somebody should really make a killer virus for the Mac. This one kid once told me that "my graphics card doesn't mesh well with my motherboard". I would have remained calm, but the kid gave me such a serious look after he said it. I couldn't help but laughing. [editline]03:45PM[/editline]
Classmate: I know how to run Quake 3 (demo) on my USB :smug: Me: That's easy, all you need to do is extract the main folder to it. Classmate: Nuh uh you just have to put quake3.exe onto your usb it works. Now to try it out!
it's better when they tell you to "juts make a shortcut to it".
