Told a friend about Minecraft today.
He then proceeded to go into the school computer's multimedia folder and rage when it wasn't there, even though I told him it's a freaking java browser game.
:downs:
The same kid also demanded I lent him my illegal copy of San Andreas for the PS2.
Conversation was like this:
Me: What? You don't even have a PS2!
:downs:: just give it to me fag it mite werk on my xbox
Me: It's an illegal copy anyway, you'd need to get your PS2 chipped even if you got one.
:downs:: dude ur rely frickin stoopid jus give it to me
mincraft! :hf:
by the way, system32-kill that guy if he's like that all the time.
Someone screwed up our teachers computer in german and our teacher needed to press delete to restart, so I was all like press delete and she was all like 'It doesn't work,' as she pressed alt.
I can't actually recall what was wrong with the 'puter but yeah.
'puter
Oh god... Reminds me of my sister's (we've kinda ex-communicated her from the family) son... He was
always fucking with my computer. Every single fucking time I got up to do something else while
he was at my house... He went and either clicked madly all over the screen, or pushed random keys and/or
tried to rip the cords out of their sockets.... But, it could have been worse. At least he didn't do any
damage that needed repairing.
Toddlers for the lose.

am I the only person here who actually used computers at such a young age? even though it was just educational games, I was sitting contently at a computer I got for my second birthday (mostly because my dad got a new one and didn't need it anymore, but whatever).
I'm quoted as saying "this computer is slow" as I waited for the 8" floppy to boot DOS for the first time, apparently. Boy, I had high standards already :raise:
Hey daijitsu do you mind if I create the next thread?

hell no. a family friend gave me a copy of doom when I was 4 or so. was good times. didn't understand how computers worked of course, but I used them.
Hey daijitsu do you mind if I create the next thread?
sure thing. I'm in the middle of job-hunting/moving/figuring out life the next month or so, so I rather not pay too much attention for when to make the new thread.
Make it when we hit 1950 posts, in the hardware section, then post a link to it on this thread before it closes, preferably covering the post in :siren:s so people don't miss it. :v:
I only know a little bit about computers. Mostly how to set up wireless networks and random stuff like that. But it drives me nuts when people automatically assume that because I can plug in a mouse, I MUST know how to fix their printer. :byodood:
I got my first computer when I was 3. It had fucking DOS on it. I had trouble learning to read for real in 1st grade due to knowing all the command line stuff.
as a good example of the mac/pc hate/fanboyism, this is an OK post IF you state this kind of thing relates to the mactards, not all mac users.

if you state "LOL MAC SUX GO XBOX" instead of saying "this is your average mactard in a nutshell", you will be smitten.
SMITTEN :argh:
and for non-bias example, let's imagine there's another picture of some kid on a massive alienware computer or other expensive/flashy looking gaming rig... and he's playing counterstrike or WoW. Nothing against the games, but I can play that on an old laptop, I don't need x64 antialiasing to burn the low polycounts into my brain.

But I can't feel love. :downs:
Anyone who knew anything about PC's would know that Alienwares are just huge ripoffs. So any mactard that uses Alienware as their argument to why PC sucks, well that's like picking out something from Apple that's overpriced and sucks. Oh wait.

You're not alone, I played Diablo II at age 6.

Not really, I was programming in BASIC at age 7.
(Showboating FTW (but really, I was))

I used one a few times when I was 4, then got my first PC (that was properly mine) at 6. After a month I was all "Upgrade RAM! Must upgrade RAM!" (back then I only thought about the RAM).
My ma says I used to sleep with batterys and screwdrivers. Couldn't read yet but I knew what all the icons and shortcuts did. I was 3 :v:

Mind you, we have cable.

Some people can never get past dialup.
I have a friend who singlehandedly built three computers for him and my friends to play with, but he didn't know how many bytes compose a kilobyte. When I told him he asked how many kilobytes make up a megabyte. He asked this question again for mega to giga, and giga to tera. He said he thought that the amount was random and seemed like he had solved a major crisis after I told him.
A guy walked into the store where I work and wanted to purchase a fresh copy of Windows 7 . He already had a copy of Windows 7 and the language used on it was English. He asked me if we had Windows 7 available in Spanish as well (He wanted the menus to be in spanish, he did not need the installation itself to be in Spanish).
I told him that language packs were available and that you could change your language settings pretty easily. He said: "No you can't change the language". I tried to convince him further but eventually he just walked off and said: "You are wrong, I'll never shop here again."
He came back later that day and asked me how you change the language on Windows 7...
PC World earlier today. We wanted to see how good a webcam was on a laptop (was built in). The so called "techies" opened up the start menu, typed in webcam and opened up the first result. It was an image called "Webcam On", which he then slideshowed, hoping to get a result. :downs:

You shouldn't hate something because of the fan base.
This guy in the year below me who takes computing has this thing where he goes around being all like "I BUILT MY OWN COMPUTER THEREFORE I AM GOOD AT COMPUTER" and so ends up being really arrogant. He dropped his phone the other day and it shattered into about 50 pieces, he put on a cool face turned to his friends and said "Don't worry i'll solder it back together when I get home I've done it before".
When I pointed out solder doesn't work that way all his friends were like "GTFO NOOB" (They all actually speak like this)
Isn't that why everyone hates Twilight?
Remember the problems with DOOM at school?
Here's some fucking more.
4/7/10 I think
