".BAT files are viruses"
People posting the most common mistakes people make are what ruined the last thread. [editline]3:48PM[/editline] Okay, this guy is a troll but the thread he made is pure gold: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=887579
Haha, that's rich.
Well they can be
Then you might as well say ALL executables are viruses
Hey guys! Good news, my dad has recently become super PC literate (almost as much as me :v:) from my teachings and much internet help. After him being graced with this knowledge one of our computers broke and the other one sucks, so I asked him if he wanted a good computer that will last a very long time and he said yes so I offered up the possibility of building one. My Dad wants to do it but my mother thinks we both know absolutely nothing and she is graces with all divine simply because she is a Scientist and also because she's seen her dance partner building one and since she cannot understand it she thinks no one can. So my dad, simply to appease my mother, has agreed with her to attempt to find a prebuilt of the same standard at the same price but he isn't going to do it and we are building it in a few weeks. [editline]12:04PM[/editline] Summed up: My mother is the only one in my family who know nothing about PCs and control everyone.
Broo, will you be my brother for a week?
".BAT files are viruses"
Funny thing about that: When I wrote my semi-working SVN exporter scrip for GMod, I first had it ask the user for their steam login name, simply to get the folders right. What I leaned from this is that people are paranoid. So, I leaned how to use the REG* series of commands to do various things to the registry just so I could find a stupid hack-way of getting the login name (find HL2.exe, check through the registry where it was last run from, copy the folder name, go to the folder, back one step, remove everything before the last backslash, copy that. It eventually didn't work because the script broke down. I also learned that XP and Vista/7 have different output syntax on some commands :bang:), just so that people wouldn't go OMG IT ASK U F0R SETAM NAEM IT R H4X TO GET MY CSS B&!!!. What they don't realize is that I could then have deleted or changed certain important registry keys without them noticing. But I guess ignorance is bliss.

Make a hidden temporary script which copies that and puts it into a convenient little notepad file for your use.
You know how your license key is displayed under computer properties?
I like how the first thing they do is "uncrop" and get more of the picture than was actually there :v:
But without uncropping it, they wouldn't have noticed the appointment, therefore they wouldn't have zoomed in on the dude's head, reflected it, found some water, reflected that, found a window, reflected that, and managed to keep the quality as high as the original. What would they have used to make the plot line move without using the uncrop tool?
Did you know that getting more RAM makes your computer's firewalls go down? No....Why? Because it eats it's way to your BIOS That's a worm. It's a malware. Yeah. RAM is one. .....Fag.
This made no sense what so ever.
I should learn how to make something e-mail me remotely with all the info about the computer, but I can't be arsed to.
Bah, that wouldn't be worth it. A license key stealer would be PERFECT.
This made no sense what so ever.
He probably tried downloading more RAM.
Bah, that wouldn't be worth it. A license key stealer would be PERFECT.
But what would I do with an already used licence key? Unless it's one of those multiple-use ones...
Not illiteracy, but p. funny
just had a massive argument so bad rage had overridden most of my memory all i can remember is that it involved a overheating mac, bootcamp, firefox and me "breaking" things it feels like a large portion of my brain has died, god help me
But what would I do with an already used licence key? Unless it's one of those multiple-use ones...
Just think, what if some of them ARE in fact multiple use keys?
The other day I walked by this local Apple Store. In front of the store there was a box full of iTablets, with a "FREE TRASH" sign.

In my German class today, our teacher knocked her computer tower over and the monitor cable was pulled out. She panicked and demanded one of the pupils hurry up and fix it. I was too busy laughing as she looked like someone just ran over her family. He picks the case up, looks around, tries to open the disk drive and, when it doesn't open he looks up and honestly states; "It looks like you've broken the RAM Miss." Everyone ooh'd and ahhh'd as though Einstein had stepped into the room. I popped up a minute later and had a look, plugged the monitor cable back in and the front of the case had become slightly loose, preventing the disk drive from opening. I snapped it back into place and turned the monitor on. Tadaaaa.

I hate this type of people: "Why update? My IE5 works just fine!" I've heard many stories when people had to use Windows 95 on a dark age computer with dial-up, all because their parents were all like: "Why get a new one? This one works so well!" Also: "We won't follow your advice, EVER, even though we ask for it every second, and if something happens, we will blame you." Thank god my parents aren't like this.
My friends today said that a mac has better sound quality than a PC with a dedicated sound card and an amp. Also they were convinced netbooks were faster than all laptops. :downs:
Last night at my tech support job (helping people connect to the wireless network in the residences at uni in wolverhampton) this guy said "But I thought my laptop was wireless, surely it doesn't need power?"
Maybe if people didn't shun Nikola Tesla? :O ... That guy is from the future :downs:
