Internet companies monitor your traffic already. Like any image that you load up, shows up in a long history file, every file you upload/download they got a copy most likely. A friend of mine worked for a local ISP once, he had to check the files and look for illegal stuff, but he was not forced to notify anyone if someone pirated music etc.
I'm pretty sure (as the above poster said), that they have things that will track your IP if you go to a government owned fake site, for DL'ing illegal things. Having the IP, they can get you anywhere.
Everyone should have the right to privacy in their own home. Many politicians will disagree with this. I believe it is implied along with the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments.
I hope they like porn then.
They should be watching that sharecash shit instead of torrents. God only knows how much CP has been uploaded there.

In an ideal world, no.
I like my privacy, I don't like the idea of people monitoring what I do.
To bad guys, as long as the man is getting hand outs from the RIAA / MPAA, they won't stop monitoring your personal lives.
I don't think they should without reasonable cause. However, that "reasonable cause" is so easily abused in its meaning...
Isn't it ISP's job? Actually, here in Finland you can still download as much movies/music as you like to, because checking up on your internet activity is considered breaking into your privacy. You know? This will be changed soon, though.
that's like what the would be wanting to look for.
?????????
If you've committed a crime or have been suspected of illegal actions on the computer, yes. If you're just a normal computer user and they do manually check-ups, then no.
No they should not, why bother defending our freedoms from the terrorists if our very own government is corroding them away in the name of defending them.
Nah, they're just trying to find everyone's favorite porn i gues...
Yes. Everyone wants their privacy invaded. Even those outside the US.
So murdering people is mkay if it is in the privacy of your own home?
You are taking something benign like downloading music and turning it into murder, which is not a really fair comparison. That said if you are suspected of something really illegal like hacking into the Pentagon then yes they should be allowed to monitor you.
Fuck no. If we don't have privacy anymore what do we have?
Fuck no. If we don't have privacy anymore what do we have?
the governement to change our diapers
Let me start by saying fuck the police, I'm tired of the mother fucking jacking, and South Florida cops are racist ass pigs, and they need to be gunned down. (Unless they actually uphold the law.) Now, no. They shouldn't, if you're a convicted child molester or kiddie porn bastard than yeah they should. But otherwise, fuck them, we pay cash to use this shit, and if they are watching without us knowing, as far as I'm concerned, thats spying and trespassing. I can't watch what they are doing without being called a hacker and being convicted, so technically, they are above the law. Unless they knock at my door and say something along the lines of, "We're eye-ballin' you because your sexy." God, I just had a dew and I feel like typing all fucking night.
But they don't spy on the average Joe...
I think they are already monitoring our activity should you catch their attention with some suspicious activities.
Feds still do it wrong, they go for the people watching the child porn, instead of the ones who actually raped/abused the children in the first place. Arresting the people who download it won't stop it. Arresting the people who make it will.
Yeah, the feds know where the people making it are, and just chose to go after the downloaders instead. :downs:
No. They shouldn't be able to see what I check out from the library, either. Fucking 9/11 and the fucking Republicans and their gay-ass U.S. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act ("Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act"*) have fucking raped our goddamn civil liberties. * Yes, this is really the name of this fucking retarded thing.
No. [editline]10:12PM[/editline] The PATRIOT Act sucks
lol feds dont come to england
If they aren't telling anyone or interfering I dont really see a problem with it as long as they stay within the confines of their own country. If it's used for political gains then that is a problem.
