Yeah at first I wasn't enjoying the combat because I thought it was broken since even though I was swinging, I never saw any indication I was damaging the enemy, and I died like I was a mindless fool. Thought the game was broken, but after simple google searches I learned that there are much more factors than you swinging and the weapon hitting the hitbox. And that made me respect Morrowind's combat system by tenfold.
Also, I am in love with the world itself and the sounds and the atmosphere. Although I haven't explored much yet in fear of being so underleveled that I'd get my ass crushed if I stepped foot into a dungeon.
Not to mention the hilariously outdated UI. I'm not gunna talk about that since it's been buggered on about for so long now.
The journal aspect and not having waypoints is a bit iffy, but it really feels like you are connected with the world by following directions instead of going in a straight line towards the waypoint like in Skyrim or Oblivion in most cases.
All in all, it'll take some time getting used to, but I enjoy more and more as I play it.
Like I've only played for about six hours and I'm already excited to play it again, even making a huge post about how I like the game. I can't remember a game that's given me this feeling in forever and I'm really happy about that.

so i was trying out an AROS distro because i want to install it on an old PC to play Amiga games but then i discovered it has an actually pretty decent web browser.

took a nap and hard a weird dream, where I was married to a ftm guy. we had adopted someone recently but we were also constantly getting harassed by two bigots in the neighbourhood. somehow night fell and I heard commotion outside so I went to check it out and got confronted by the two, each carrying a baseball bat. you can imagine what happened next.
so the next day "came" (sense of time is fucked in dreams) and I was gonna call the police when they started beating the shit out of various stuff outside, including our front door. so the dream became a race to prevent them from coming in as the police was on their way.
suddenly, a group of war veterans showed up and chased them away. and that's all I remember.
