So a friend who has known me for 2 years found out I wasn't gay after he told me he was thinking about introducing me to one of his gay friends. That's not even the first time someone thought I was gay. I think I just emit an aura that makes people think I am. :v:

Reminds me of back in the day in Ragnarok Online where I spent nearly a month farming for a card that added 20 to evasion. Ended up buying one using the money I had accrued from vendor trash, and I wasn't happy about doing so as there was a good chance it was botted.
Not totally the same as your situation, but it IS a 'spent a long time farming a particular thing' story.
