Click here if you want to be severely (SEVERELY) creeped the fuck out...
Gah, I always put my hand over my eyes when I click on this link, leaving just a tiny gap for me to see through... Fucking creepypastas. EDIT: Also, does anybody remember that one story, can't remember if it was from a guy on FP, but it basically entailed him and some of his friends being chased by a big monstrous were-wolf-like creature through the woods. It was a great read, and it sounds like it'd be perfect for this thread. It may've actually been in the first version of this thread. ANOTHER EDIT: Oh, here it is.
I've had alot of bizarre experiences through my life, but the first one I ever had was when I was about 16. I was backpacking cross-country with my friends in the Ardennes. My friend offered to take me along on a trip he & his family were taking to France, and we decided to go solo hiking, as we do it as a habit and we'd been wanting to do a really long, challenging trail on our own. We'd been hiking for maybe half an hour and we stopped to take a rest. My friend was taking a drink of water, and I had my iPod in my ears. My friend spluttered and spat out the water he was drinking and looked into the bushes on the other side of the clearing. I took my buds out and asked him what was up, and he replied that he'd heard screaming lower on the trail, back the way we came. I immediately thought of a ravenous pack of wolves circling us, and we burned rubber. We ran up the trail and I heard the scream again, but it sure as hell wasn't a bloody wolf. It sounded like a howler monkey and a man locked in mortal combat, both screaming at the same time. I ran faster than my friend, but I forgot that I was wearing the backpack and I dropped it. I tried to turn and grab it but keep running, then promptly twisted my ankle and did a graceful Pirouette into the bushes and mud. My friend catches up to me, sees the disturbed ground and dropped backpack, and starts shouting my name. I hear more noises on the trail, so I grab him and pull him into the bushes, then tell him to shut the fuck up and stay quiet. Maybe twelve seconds later, something comes up from the lower trail. As far as I can tell it had a vaguely human shape and it was wrapped in some kind of light-pink cloth that was covered in blood. It sniffed the air and went to my backpack, then started tearing it open. It found the nutrition bars we had and for lack of a better word, it 'ate' them. It tore through the rest of the pack and then ran along the rest of the trail on all fours but with incredible speed. It didn't seem to have any form of bones and yet it still ran. We waited til it was long gone, then we got the fuck out of that area. In retrospect, I thought about what it was wearing. I'm pretty sure it was human skin.
YET ANOTHER EDIT: Oh, wait, that wasn't the one I was thinking of - here's the proper one.
Had something somewhat similar to the OP happen to me. My friend and I were out exploring the woods around my grandmother's house (she owns a shitload of land, a large forest being part of it). We came upon a massive pile of corn just chillin out in the middle of a clearing. Now, we were young at the time so the thought that there could be hunters around didn't occur to us. It was more like "what the fuck? corn?" After getting a little spooked at this random giant ass pile of corn, we decided to continue up the trail anyway. In retrospect this was extremely dangerous because again, there were more than likely hunters around. Not to mention what was in store for us later. But we were young and stupid. We eventually get across the clearing and hit the treeline again. We moved into the woods for about an hour, and then stopped to rest in another small clearing. At this point, shit got weird. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, you'll know that when shit gets absolutely dead quiet, something is wrong in the area. Well, shit got dead quiet. The birds stopped chirping, the insects all settled down, it's like time just stopped in the middle of that clearing. After straining to hear anything for a few moments, I started hearing noises, very soft, faint noises from behind us. Twigs snapping, rustling, so on and so forth, from about fifty yards down the trail we had just walked. I told my friend to listen, and after a moment he heard them too. He asked me, "what do you think that-" and then he got cut off by the most disturbing sound I've ever heard. It was kinda like screaming, only it was way deeper. Like a moose and a human mixed together in a weirdass wail of sorts. That stopped us dead in our tracks. Us being badasses, we drew our BB guns and went into lock and load mode. Again, in retrospect, stupid move - because what was after us probably wouldn't have even felt a BB. We scurried over to the other side of the clearing and hunkered down to wait. Nothing came up that trail. We didn't hear another wail. The twigs stopped snapping and the leaves stopped rustling. It was still absolutely quiet. We were about ready to piss our pants. We must have sat there for half an hour, just waiting. The forest noise never came back. Whatever it was, it was still out there, close. At this point I convinced my friend that we needed to move. We started moving down the trail again, away from the noise and toward the exit. We had been down the trail many times; we knew the way. When we were about halfway down the trail, we heard something that still sends chills down my spine every time I think about it. Directly to our left (not even five feet I'd guess), in the thick foliage came this deep, guttural growl. It kept growling, whatever it was, and eventually it led into the wail I mentioned earlier. And then we said fuck that and ran. Ran as hard as we could toward the end of the trail. We were just about out when I saw it flash across the trail. That's the best way I can describe it, the mother fucker moved so fast I barely even got a glimpse. It looked like a giant monkey. It stood about seven feet at least, had thick grayish-black fur and had red eyes that almost glowed, even in the daylight. It was wailing the whole time, just screaming at us as it ran across. It got around to our right and then behind us, still screaming. It was circling us. After that it was like if you injected pure adrenaline into our veins. We hauled ass, faster than I've ever ran before then or up to today. We broke out of the woods and got back near the highway that led to my grandmother's house. It was still screaming at us, but it stayed in the woods. We could see the eyes following us along in the treeline as we got closer to the house. When we got about one hundred meters away from the house, it abruptly stopped wailing. We turned our heads for a second and found that it was gone. That spooked us even more than it being there had, so we ran even faster. We eventually reached the house and burst through my grandmother's door, threw all the locks and hunkered down inside. I still don't know what it was. I did a little researching and the best thing I can come up with is maybe the Skunk Ape. Skunk Ape has the red eyes for sure, but the thing we saw didn't stink and I don't think they scream either. Every now and then I think about those eyes... creepy as shit. Sorry for wall of text.
