At least he takes pride in his name.
Heavens no. Metal Gear Rising was fantastic but character development was next to non exist MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Well I guess you said personality, not character development, so I guess I agree in that regard.
There was no character development but a weaboo Brazilian samurai was a great idea.
36 hours in, I quit. I uninstalled Fallout 4 and let it gather dust in my library.
I need to play something good to ease my saltiness.
MGS games, DF, Isaac, Fallout: NV to see what FO4 should have been

Raiden had more character development than most of the characters in mgsv. :v:
Am I the only one who likes fallout 4's new dialogue system and voiced protag?

Mission 43 added a little bit to Venom's character. The Ashes cutscene was absolutely amazing
I'm going to be totally brutal and might catch some shit for this, but my stars Fallout 3 and New Vegas were heaping piles of shit compared to Fallout 4.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas looked like something my cat crapped out on release, with some of the most laughably poor graphics I'd seen in a modern game. Remember, Fallout 3 released a year AFTER next generation games like Uncharted, so people knew what next gen games could really do. 'But, it's a most apocalyptic world!' Fuck that shit noise. That is literally the worst excuse for your entire fucking game looking tan and flat. Like, I don't know if you meant for the game to look like shit, it's still shit. There is no incentive to explore the game, what on earth do you think you're going to see? More tan broken city scapes?
The gameplay in Fallout 3 and New Vegas was so bad I'm rather fucking clip my toenails on a moving party bus. Shooting and combat felt ass bad and vats was one of the only ways you could easily kill enemies without waving your gun around like a crack head gone wild.
Those games had bugs up the fucking ass and ran like a dog's bollocks in the wintertime, yes most Bethesda games have bugs but my god man, these games at release were minefields to play.
In the end, fuck those games, and Fallout 4 is a pretty fucking big improvement over those games. This is my uncensored opinion on Fallout, and I never give it out because I don't like contributing to the never ending discussion about those games, so balls to this.

znt, i'm sorry to report that you have a terminal case of shit taste. It's a lifelong disease but with the right combination of casual anime + vidya, you should remain relatively comfortable.
I like FO4, but the new dialog system is pretty shitty at telling you what each option means. Took a while to finally get that < is weird jokes and > is telling the person they should drown in acid.

A DE:HR style system would have been best, a mod for that should come out pretty quick
[editline]15th November 2015[/editline]
Also FO4 > New Vegas > FO3

point still stands and no cutscene from fallout 4 can match this cutscene from mgsv

Neither fallout 4 or MGSV deserve GOTY though, that title should go to Witcher 3

As someone who dearly loves mgs, I can say
MGSV was a travesty
uh oh this discussions getting dumb
why does a game's dialogue have to match up to the narrative of MGSV to be considered good or even bearable?
that's such a high standard. i think you're being a little silly mon ami
as someone who is not particularly attached to mgs
mgsv is a masterpiece
I still like NV more. Had much better writing and they did a good job and not making the story so urgent. Bethesda have a problem where every main story they have is written to have top priority, but then you can just much about in the open world for a year. New Vegas's main plot was basically a longer side quest.
Bethesda definitely did a better job on the writing in FO4 over FO3 though. It's good to see that they're not making the writing so depressingly serious and can play around with it.
i really like the line "i won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea" but mgsv was wonky
as someone who is not particularly attached to mgs

I'd say it's a masterpiece in gameplay, but the story made me sad in how disappointed I was.

It was but some cutscenes were gold. Comparing MGSV and fallout are like apples and oranges.
My main problem with fallout 4 is that there's no roleplaying in it. In NV, I could create my own character with his own backstory. For example, I created a character in NV named Fuccboi Prime whose prior experience with the NCR and the Legion convinced him that they were all fuccbois and that he wouldn't have any dealings with them. In FO4, my character is already a soldier, he's straight, he has a son named Shawn, and he has a goal to save his son. In NV, they just let you go and said, here's main quest but you can completely ignore that if you want and just do whatever you want.
Honestly, the best fallout games narrativewise were Fallout 1 and 2
At least Bethesda is done with Gamebryo. The Creation engine is still a pretty limiting factor compared to a lot of the bigger engines out there, but it's a pretty fuckin' huge step above Gamebryo. That said, I legitmately haven't enjoyed a Bethesda game enough to pay full price since Morrowind came out, so the only Creation engine game I intend on playing much is Enderal.

FO4 is just so much more interesting to me, from the enviroments, lore, companions and characters, not to mention how much it's improved the gameplay. I'd take it over New Vegas any day.
I don't understand why my town has been so windy lately and I want it to stop.
On the bright side, Obsidian's going to announce a new RPG in the next few months.
yisssss
It's Vampire: The Masquerade or something, not Fallout if that's what you're thinking

The Creation Engine is just a heavily modified Gamebryo engine.

That would be a great dnd character. Just a huge orc that you're sent to kill but it turns out he's peaceful and just wants to play with his teddy.
Requesting someone post the cartoon image of the orcs playing DnD.
Everything isn't terrible! I don't even care that things aren't as good as they could be. I'm glad things aren't terrible. I ordered pizza. Can't wait for it to get here.

Also, I'm thinking of setting up a dnd 5e game via roll20, anyone interested?

To the same end that the Source engine is a heavily modified Quake engine, yes. I mean obviously the difference isn't that huge, but they've overcome the vast majority of the horrible issues Gamebryo had. It's certainly not a ~new~ engine by any means, but it's fucking fantastic compared to Gamebryo.
